Cheongnyeon Gamjatang Sundaeguk Seoulyeok-jeom

청년감자탕순대국 서울역점 Cheongnyeon means 'young person'; gamjatang is a pork-backbone stew and sundaeguk a Korean blood-sausage soup, the two dishes this chain is named for.

A branch of a gamjatang chain on Sowol-ro 2-gil in Huam-dong, uphill from Seoul Station exit 10 toward Namsan. Most posts describe a couple sharing one small Cheongnyeon Gamjatang, its pork bones stacked like a tower above the pot. Posts say nearby office workers come at lunch for single bowls of bone soup (11,000 won in October 2026). The small stew was 30,000 won in posts through August 2026 and 32,000 won in a post from 19 October. You order on a tablet at the table and refill side dishes from a self-serve bar. We read 19 posts dated 13 July to 24 October 2026, and every one describes a visit. None discloses sponsorship, but the posts bunched on 19–24 October and 19–22 August share keyword titles and copy the same shop notices.

Counted from what bloggers wrote in their posts; we did not confirm it with the restaurant. Where the values differ, it may be a change over time rather than a disagreement, so we show when each one was written.

What sets it apart

  1. Fifteen posts say the portions are large. One diner checked twice that this really was the small; another says a single bone was hard to lift with the tongs. Several were told by the owner to set the two big top bones aside in a bowl and add them later so the pot would not overflow, and some couples were too full for the fried rice.
  2. Fourteen posts mention topping up side dishes at the self-serve bar: kkakdugi, fresh kimchi, onion, chili, ssamjang, and a fiery 'silbi' kimchi. Opinions on the silbi kimchi split: two diners gave up after a bite, while one found it not hot at all.
  3. Nine posts ordered on the tablet at each table. One warns that you must press the final order button after adding items to the cart. Kimchi and kkakdugi are brought to the table first.
  4. Eight posts say it is an easy walk from Seoul Station, seven to ten minutes from exit 10, though one notes a slight uphill climb.
3 more
  1. Seven posts describe the broth as spicy. Stews and soups come mild or spicy, the spicy option costing 1,000 won more; one diner said the spicy aged-kimchi bone soup was hotter than Shin Ramyun and told spice-shy readers to stick with the regular.
  2. Six posts went as a couple, two with a friend, and one with family and children. Many posts suggest the basement for work dinners, but none went in a large group.
  3. One post saw high chairs and aprons. The free bone broth for children under 48 months comes from a shop notice that many posts copied; one family actually brought children and appreciated how fast the food came.

Parking

4 posts say you can park. None say you cannot.

Posts saying you can park4 of 19 posts

There is one parking space behind the shop. Four posts say you can park, three of them noting it holds only one car and advising a call ahead; one family actually parked there. The 'limited parking, use paid lots' line and a single 'no parking' line in other posts are copied listings, and we did not count them.

Getting inside

In a basementyes 0 · no 3 (of 19 posts read)
Toilet inside3 of 19 posts
Separate restroomsyes 0 · no 1 (of 19 posts read)

Three posts say the main room is at street level with more seating downstairs. The basement serves as group seating or a 'VIP room', and one post was told it opens only at lunch.

No post says whether there is a step at the entrance or whether a wheelchair or stroller can get in. That means we do not know, not that there is no step. One post says the basement is reached by stairs, and no one mentions a lift.

Three posts say the restroom is inside the shop and clean; one adds that it is shared by men and women.

No one mentioned: Second floor · Lift to the floor · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Accessible toilet. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

What we do not know

  • Only one post mentions waiting: at lunch the place, basement included, fills with office workers, and the writer once could not get in by arriving late. The other posts went on weekday evenings, weekend lunchtimes or early evenings and do not mention a wait.
  • Prices rose in autumn 2026. Cheongnyeon Gamjatang was 30,000 / 38,000 / 46,000 / 54,000 won (small to extra-large) in August posts and 32,000 / 40,000 / 48,000 / 56,000 won in a post from 19 October. The small aged-kimchi stew went from 33,000 to 35,000 won and the green-onion kimchi stew from 34,000 to 36,000 won. We do not know the exact date. Of the five posts calling it good value, four were written before the rise, and the fifth (7 October) gives no prices.
  • Thirteen posts give opening hours, all copied from the listing: weekdays 11:00–22:00, Saturday 12:00–21:30, break 15:30–16:30, closed Sunday. One post has Saturday closing at 21:00 instead. A widget in another post showing 10:00–22:00 daily belongs to a different address, and we left it out.
  • Many posts copy the phone number 0507-1433-6566. One writer tried to book but could not get the date they wanted because a group booking had taken it; they do not say whether they booked by phone.
  • This is a chain branch; three posts say so. The TV-appearance and 'Restaurant Guru' banners and the 'cooked and sold the same day' notice are the shop's own claims, copied by bloggers, and we did not rely on them.
