the 9

잠두봉더나인 Jamdubong Deonain Jamdubong, 'silkworm-head peak', is the old name of the riverside bluff now called Jeoldusan, and the pier the restaurant floats beside carries that name; 'the nine' is the wording on its sign, and no post explains it.

Compiled from 25 blog posts read in fullSources →

A riverside grill on a floating building at Jamdubong pier in Hapjeong, Mapo, just below the north end of Yanghwa Bridge, where guests grill their own meat by the Han River. Pork belly, pork neck and smoked duck are 20,000 won per 200 g, US beef rib-finger 20,000 won per 150 g; a mushroom plate is 5,000 won, machine-cooked 'Hangang ramyeon' 4,000 won and a 500 cc draft beer 5,000 won. You take a table, give its number at the counter and pay up front; staff bring the grill and the first side dishes, and after that guests fetch sides, noodles and drinks from the self-serve bar and shop. Many posts fried their own rice on the grill with a 2,000-won rice tub and leftover meat and kimchi. We read 30 posts dated 20 June to 9 October 2026; 26 describe an actual meal, the other 4 are list posts or an outing plan.

The values differ, but the periods they were written in do not overlap. This looks like a change over time rather than a disagreement, and the top row is the most recently reported. We did not confirm it with the restaurant.

What sets it apart

  1. The draw is the ground-level riverside deck: 14 posts sat at outdoor tables right on the water. Six posts mention the second floor, an indoor room with picture windows (three posts) and air-conditioning (one post), which one writer found 'like an ordinary restaurant'; one post sat on the third-floor rooftop. A 1 October post said the indoor seats looked neglected and only the river-side tables were in use. Four posts felt the floating building rock in wind or boat wakes, and three found the low sun hot or glaring before sunset.
  2. Waiting depends on the hour. Six posts waited or saw a queue, ten walked straight in. The three that timed it waited 10 minutes (6:30 pm before a holiday), 15 minutes (weekend 5:30 pm, six groups ahead) and 20 minutes (Sunday 7 pm, five groups ahead). Those arriving around 4 pm got in at once; two posts found a queue outside by the time they left. One couple gave up on the outdoor deck and took an indoor window seat. When it is full you write your name on the list by the door.
  3. The first meat order must be at least two portions of the same cut, one per person, according to nine posts; after that you can add single portions. At 200 g a portion, posts report four people full on four portions and two people leaving some of three.
  4. Staff set the first round of sides; after that it is self-service. Fifteen posts went back to the self-serve bar for more kimchi, lettuce and garlic. The bar also has sesame oil, laver flakes and gochujang for fried rice; one post says you must keep reusing the plate you were given, another that all cups are paper. Three posts called the basic spread of kimchi, lettuce, garlic and dipping paste thin or plain.
6 more
  1. Tables are limited to two hours: three posts cite the posted rules, one guessing it is for turnover in the busy outdoor season.
  2. Seven posts came by public transport: 10 to 15 minutes on foot from exits 7 or 8 of Hapjeong Station, and three describe walking onto Yanghwa Bridge and taking the stairs down partway. One took a bus from Dangsan Station and walked 15 minutes across the bridge, another came straight by bus. One post coming from the south bank said no subway or bus gets you really close and walked across the river.
  3. Seven posts went with friends, four with a spouse or partner, one as a work dinner, which noted group tables set apart inside.
  4. Eleven posts drank beer; a 500 cc draft is 5,000 won and several mixed it with soju. Snacks, soft drinks and alcohol are sold separately at the shop counter.
  5. Three posts noticed the counter covered in celebrity autographs.
  6. Five posts said the meat came thick-cut. Several expected little from a 'view restaurant' and were surprised; two called it about the same as any ordinary barbecue place.

Parking

Posts saying you can park3 of 25 posts

Parking is at the Han River Park Mangwon No. 1 public lot (paid), not the restaurant's own. Three posts parked there and walked over, one saying it took 30 seconds. Fee details and 'no parking' lines come from copied info blocks, so we did not count them.

From the station

One took a bus from Dangsan Station and walked 15 minutes across the bridge, another came straight by bus. Getting inside

Second floor6 of 25 posts
In a basementyes 0 · no 4 (of 25 posts read)

No post says whether there is a step at the entrance or whether a wheelchair or stroller can get in; that is unknown, not a no. Three posts describe taking stairs down from Yanghwa Bridge on the way from Hapjeong, and one mentions an elevator along the route, but none describe the restaurant's own entrance.

No post says where the toilets are or whether they are separate for men and women.

No one mentioned: Lift to the floor · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Toilet inside · Accessible toilet · Separate restrooms. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

Posts that followed a TV spot

Of the 29 posts we gathered, 4 went up on a single day right after a TV spot and show no sign of a visit. They retell the broadcast, so we left them out of the counts.

We do not discard them. That a TV spot produced a burst of posts is itself something worth knowing about a place, and a star rating will not show it.

What we do not know

  • Opinions on price split: four posts found it fair or reasonable, two said it is not cheap, two left it at 'you are paying for the view'. The one itemised bill: three people, three portions of belly, mushrooms, three beers, rice and ramyeon came to 88,500 won, about 29,500 each.
  • Twelve posts list opening hours as 12:00 to 22:00, but two say it opens at 11:30 and one at 12:30; two give different last orders, 21:00 and 21:50. Nearly all of these are copied info blocks, and no post mentions a closing day.
  • Booking is unclear. One post phoned and was told there are no reservations, just come; another wrote 'no advance booking, walk-in queue'. A June post had heard phone booking was possible, and one weekday-lunch visitor thought some tables were reserved. Six posts give the phone number as 0507-1385-8903; one gives 02-322-8876.
  • Cleanliness splits one to one: one post found the interior tidy, another said the old pier building is not the place to expect polish or modern facilities.
  • One post from a rainy June evening said the pork looked good but honestly smelled strongly; no other post raised this.
  • 'Pets allowed' appears only in three copied info blocks; no post went with a pet.
  • No post went with children. One noticed families among the guests, but nobody mentions high chairs or other provisions for kids.
