Hamban
함반 Hamban appears to join hambak, the Korean word for hamburg steak, with ban, a Sino-Korean syllable for cooked rice; none of the posts explains the name.

Hamban is a charcoal hamburg-steak counter on Worldcup-ro 1-gil, about five minutes' walk from Hapjeong Station exit 8. You sit at a bar wrapped around a central charcoal grill and get chicken, pork-jowl and beef-rib patties one at a time, with six sauces to dip into; the beef goes over rice with egg yolk and soy. The three-patty moa hamban is 15,000 won, a set for two with roasted Brussels sprouts is 36,000 won, and rice and soup are refillable. We read 30 posts from 22 July to 18 October 2026; 2 were about other places, leaving 28 first-hand visits.

Counted from what bloggers wrote in their posts; we did not confirm it with the restaurant. Where the values differ, it may be a change over time rather than a disagreement, so we show when each one was written.
What sets it apart
- Every seat is at the bar. 19 posts describe a curved counter around the grill, one stressing there are no four-person tables. One post counts 11 seats, two say about 10. One writer who came as a group of three says the middle person spent the meal turning their head side to side, and another notes you can't sit face to face.
- 23 posts say they watched the patties being grilled right in front of them. Several note each patty is set on a small iron plate at your seat as it's done, paced to how fast you eat. Four posts expected smoke on their clothes but found the partition, duct, hood or acrylic screen kept it down.
- 16 posts mention a queue, 5 walked straight in. Seven give a time: 15, 20, 30, 30 and 50 minutes, an hour, and over an hour - 50 minutes at a weekday lunch, 15-20 minutes around 6pm on weekdays, 30 minutes on a Friday at 7pm and on a weekend at 6pm. Those who walked in came at 1pm on a Friday, at weekday lunch, at 2pm, or on a weekday evening. Most used CatchTable's remote queue, and four say you choose your order when you join it.
- 5 posts mention somewhere to wait: folding chairs out front and to the side, about three waiting seats, and one says that in the morning you could wait in the shop next door.
7 more
- 20 posts say rice or soup was refilled. You help yourself to rice from a cooker at the back; four posts say soup is topped up if you ask. One post found the first bowl of rice a little small.
- 10 posts mention a spot at the back for bags or a coat rack.
- 9 posts call the room small or cramped; none call it roomy.
- 3 posts say the portion is on the light side, one specifying 'a bit short for a big eater'; the others suggest more rice or ordering more. Three posts ordered extra single pieces.
- 4 posts found it salty: the pork with sauce on top, the sauces in general, the Brussels sprouts with cheese (left unfinished), and the beef as the saltiest patty.
- 5 posts saw an origin-of-ingredients board. Claims about Cheorwon rice or cooking rice six portions at a time are the shop's own words repeated, so we don't count them.
- 5 posts are by repeat visitors, from 'my nth time' to a couple returning after their first date and a diary with two visits in a month.

Parking
1 posts say you can park. None say you cannot.
| Posts saying you can park | 1 of 28 posts |

Parking is mostly copied info blocks: most say spaces in front and in the back alley, one says no parking, one points to public lots. First-hand, one post saw a lot between the buildings but found it tight, and another warns it may be full. Nobody says they actually parked.

Where it is

We could not find this shop’s own listing on Naver Map, so the link searches for its Korean name around this spot instead.
From the station
6 posts say it is walkable from the station.
Getting inside
| Toilet inside | yes 0 · no 1 (of 28 posts read) |
|---|
No post describes the floor from experience; '1st floor' appears only in the address, and nobody mentions stairs.
Nobody mentions a step at the door or getting in with a wheelchair or stroller - which means unknown, not absent. 19 posts do note that all seating is at the bar.
Only one post mentions the toilet: it's outside the shop, with the code posted inside. Nobody says whether it's separated by gender.
No one mentioned: Second floor · In a basement · Lift to the floor · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Accessible toilet · Separate restrooms. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

What we do not know
- Almost everyone came as a pair (8 dates, 5 with friends, 1 with family, 1 alone). No post covers a visit by a larger group; one writer who once came as three says groups are hard.
- 20 posts give the hours and they agree: 11:30-21:00, a 15:00-17:00 break on weekdays only, last orders at 14:30 and 20:30. Nearly all are copied blocks, and only one mentions days off ('open every day'). One couple walked in at 3pm on a Sunday, confirming there's no weekend break.
- Prices held steady from July to October: moa 15,000 won, chicken 13,000, pork 15,000, beef 18,000, the set for two 36,000. A meal is roughly one 15,000-won plate plus a 3,000-6,000-won drink; one post notes one dish per person. 3 posts call it good value, none call it expensive.
- 8 posts list the phone number, but nobody booked by phone. When posts say 'reserve' they mean CatchTable's remote queue, and one says it's walk-in waiting only; two note remote queueing opens only once two or more parties are waiting.
- Of the 28 visits, 2 are declared sponsored and 1 was a requested review. Many posts follow the same template ('like omakase', 'date spot', 'six sauces'), but we counted them because they still record first-hand details like wait times, seats and companions.
