Compiled from 14 blog posts read in fullSources →

Jang Ji-nyeong Ganjang Gejang is a soy-cured crab restaurant on the first basement level of Hannam IPark, at the Hannam five-way junction in Yongsan, Seoul. We read 14 posts from October 2025 to October 2026, all of them actual visits (13 from June 2026 on). The male-crab set is 22,000 won per person and the roe-filled female-crab set 37,000 won; either comes with spicy seasoned crab, soy shrimp, a few slices of chilled pork and vegetable side dishes, and all 14 posts mention the seasoned crab. Seaweed soup and sikhye are self-serve. Five posts say they paid themselves, one discloses sponsorship, one was an invited reviewer, and seven say nothing.

Counted from what bloggers wrote in their posts; we did not confirm it with the restaurant. Where the values differ, it may be a change over time rather than a disagreement, so we show when each one was written.

What sets it apart

  1. Ten posts say the seasoned crab that comes with the set is spicy. One writer who avoids heat called it fairly fiery; another suggested sticking to the soy crab if you can't take spice.
  2. Seven posts say the soy crab is not salty; one said savoriness and the crab's sweetness come before salt. One post (July 2026) found the soy marinade distinctly sweet. No post called it salty.
  3. Eight posts noticed many foreign diners, several singling out Japanese visitors — one described tourists arriving with suitcases.
  4. Four posts call it good value and one calls it expensive. One praised the 22,000-won set as cheap for Hannam-dong; the October 2025 post, after the 37,000-won set, admitted the price made their hands shake.
3 more
  1. Three posts got side dishes refilled — one went back for more of the seasoned vegetables, another said staff refilled them readily when asked.
  2. Four posts mention private rooms; one described the group room at the back as a little retro. Five call the dining room spacious and five call it clean, often noting the wide gaps between tables.
  3. Three posts went with their mothers and two with a partner; two of the mother visits were repeat trips.

Parking

Only one post actually parked in the building's underground car park and found it easy. The one-to-two-hour free parking validation appears in several posts but only as copied listing text.

Getting inside

In a basement4 of 14 posts
Lift to the floor1 of 14 posts
Toilet insideyes 0 · no 2 (of 14 posts read)

Four posts describe going down to find it — turn left at the bottom of the escalator, or see the shop right at the foot of the stairs. One came up by elevator from the underground car park.

No post describes getting in with a wheelchair or stroller. The line saying the entrance and seats are wheelchair-accessible was copied from a listing; visitors only mention stairs and an escalator. Nobody says whether there is a step at the door, and only one post mentions the elevator, from the car park.

Two posts say the restroom is the building's shared one outside the restaurant — out the door, right down the corridor, on the left, with the code posted by the entrance. One found it cleaner than expected. Separate men's and women's rooms appear only in copied listing blocks.

No one mentioned: Second floor · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Accessible toilet · Separate restrooms. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

What we do not know

  • Waits vary: two posts queued (over ten minutes; two parties ahead at 6:30 on a Sunday), two walked straight in (12:30 on a Saturday, a weekday lunch). There is a waitlist kiosk at the door, and one post mentions chairs outside for waiting.
  • One post came by subway and found it close to Hannam Station; the five-minute walk from Exit 1 appears elsewhere only as directions.
  • Eleven posts give the same hours — daily 11:30 to 22:00, last order 21:00, no break — but all copied from a listing, not observed. Nobody mentions a closing day; that means unknown, not none.
  • Prices held steady across the period (22,000 and 37,000 won). But one post says the premium set needs two orders while three say singles are fine, and one says the chilled pork cost extra while the rest got it with the set. Two people on the premium set paid 74,000 won.
  • Eight posts list the same phone number, 0507-1311-7754. No post says it booked ahead; mentions of online booking or room reservations are copied or advisory.
  • The self-serve bar changed: posts through July 2026 list seaweed soup, scorched-rice tea and sikhye; from 29 August 2026 posts list seaweed soup, abalone porridge and sikhye.
  • Thirteen posts since June 2026 follow nearly the same template — location and parking, menu, self-serve bar, side dishes, soy crab, seasoned crab, an hours block — which looks like a promotional campaign. Only two disclose sponsorship or an invitation.
