Ttukbang Ttungdwaeji

뚝방뚱돼지 Ttukbang is a riverside embankment and ttungdwaeji means 'fat pig' — one post says the name comes from the Han River embankment path.

An aged-pork barbecue house on an alley between Yongsan and Sinyongsan stations. Indoors you order cuts like pork belly, neck, moseori or dwittong (180 g for 18,000 won) or the four-cut half platter (550 g, 53,000 won) over charcoal; past the indoor room is an open-roofed yard with its own set menu (the large outdoor set was 72,000 won for 720 g in autumn 2026 posts). One group of six paid 186,000 won, about 31,000 won each. We read 30 posts from October 2025 to October 2026; 29 of them describe an actual meal.

Counted from what bloggers wrote in their posts; we did not confirm it with the restaurant. Where the values differ, it may be a change over time rather than a disagreement, so we show when each one was written.

What sets it apart

  1. Indoors, the staff grill for you: 13 posts say an employee or the owner cooked their meat at the table, one noting they kept grilling even the extra order. The line that grilling may not happen at busy times is the house's own notice, copied by several posts. One post differs: at an outdoor table in May 2026 they were told staff don't grill out there and cooked it themselves.
  2. The draw here is the inner yard. Thirteen posts sat out there. It is not a street-side patio but a courtyard you reach through the dining room — one disappointed writer said only the ceiling is open — while several liked the trees and the sky. Two posts mention clear curtains or awnings for cold weather. Only the outdoor sets can be ordered there, not the indoor cuts.
  3. Expect to wait for the yard. Five posts waited: 12 parties already queued at 4:45 on a Saturday; signed up around 6:30 on a Friday and seated around 7:40; second in line yet over an hour. The 2 who didn't wait went right at weekday opening or booked an early slot. Ten posts booked ahead, via Naver or CatchTable. Three mention chairs or a bench out front for waiting.
  4. Seating is time-limited. Two posts say so: one notes a two-hour maximum in the yard, another arriving at 4 p.m. was told to leave before a 6 p.m. booking.
2 more
  1. Seven posts call the portions generous and one disagrees. Writers describe the kimchi noodles as a mountain of noodles and the stew as enough for three, and 3 say the rice came heaped high. One table of four found the 72,000-won outdoor set not very filling and pricey for mostly lesser cuts.
  2. Many posts repeat the house rule of one bottle corkage-free. One actually used it: a party of five brought whisky, and staff kept their ice topped up.

Posts saying you cannot2 of 29 posts

There is no lot of its own. Many posts copy 'no parking'; the 2 who drove parked elsewhere — one at the Starbucks next door, which gave three hours with any purchase as of May 2026, the other along a wall nearby where other cars were parked.

Getting inside

Toilet inside2 of 29 posts
Separate restrooms1 of 29 posts

No post describes the floor level or any stairs from experience; the 'ground floor' in the address is listing data. That means nobody wrote about it, not that there is nothing to note.

Nobody describes the entrance step or getting in with a wheelchair or stroller. One post copies a listing line saying the entrance is wheelchair-accessible; we don't count that. One family brought a baby but didn't say how they got in.

Two posts mention the restroom: one says it is behind the pig-shaped drinks fridge in the yard and is split by gender, the other noticed mouthwash set out inside. Nobody wrote about its size or an accessible stall.

No one mentioned: Second floor · In a basement · Lift to the floor · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Accessible toilet. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

Posts that followed a TV spot

Of the 30 posts we gathered, 1 went up on a single day right after a TV spot and show no sign of a visit. They retell the broadcast, so we left them out of the counts.

We do not discard them. That a TV spot produced a burst of posts is itself something worth knowing about a place, and a star rating will not show it.

What we do not know

  • Whether outdoor meat comes fully cooked from the kitchen depends on when people went. Eight posts from October 2025 to January 2026 and from September to October 2026 say it arrived cooked — one in December 2025 adds there was no burner under the plate, so it went cold fast. Three posts from April to May 2026 grilled it themselves at the table, and another from that spring got it par-grilled to finish on the grill. One post is unclear.
  • Opening hours have changed. A November 2025 post gave 11:30 a.m. to 11 p.m. (last order 10); posts from January 2026 on say 2:30 p.m. to midnight daily, mostly copied listings, with one writer arriving right at the 2:30 opening. A June 2026 post re-copied the old hours, and one post's 2:30-to-10 looks like a typo. Only one post mentions days off — open every day.
  • Some prices moved. The doenjang rice stew was 10,000 won in November 2025 and 12,000 won on the June 2026 menu. The large outdoor set was 78,000 won as the 'outdoor hanpan' in January 2026 and 72,000 won for 720 g as the 'yajang hanpan' in September–October 2026, so name and price seem to have changed together. One post found it expensive. A December 2025 post says that a few months earlier the indoor cuts could still be ordered outside.
  • Seven posts reuse nearly the same promotional copy — top-grade selected pork, a semi-buyout room for 40 and groups up to 100, the open-roof yard, gas grills with water dropwort and bracken, grilling not guaranteed at peak times. Only one discloses sponsorship. We treated that copy as the house's own claims and counted only what those writers described firsthand.
  • Most posts list the phone number as 010-6668-5848; one gives a 0507 number instead. For bookings, posts mostly used Naver or CatchTable rather than calling.
