Menya Seoul

멘야서울 Menya is Japanese for a noodle shop, so the name simply reads 'Seoul noodle house'.

Menya Seoul is a ramen counter in the 7th-floor food hall of Yongsan I'Park Mall. You pick a broth (mild, spicy or mala) and a topping (braised pork belly or jambon); as of August 2026 a bowl ran 10,900 won with jambon or 12,900 won with pork belly, and a set adds 5,000 won for a side (karaage, gyoza or a small chicken rice bowl) and a drink. You order, take a buzzer, collect the food yourself, eat at the bar in front of the shop or at the shared food-hall tables, and return the tray. We read 6 posts dated 15 August to 23 September 2026, and all 6 describe an actual visit.

Counted from what bloggers wrote in their posts; we did not confirm it with the restaurant. Where the values differ, it may be a change over time rather than a disagreement, so we show when each one was written.

What sets it apart

  1. Most posts found seating easy. Five described it: a long bar in front of the counter plus the shared food-hall tables next to it, so three noted it is not bar-only. One said there were enough seats on all sides to find a place easily even at the weekend.
  2. Posts were specific about heat. Three called their bowl spicy and one stopped short of a verdict: the spicy broth was described as not tongue-burning, roughly the heat of a Korean cup-noodle, while the mala version tasted like a mala hot pot. Two posts warned that the mala broth comes with coriander unless you ask for it left out.
  3. Two posts said the braised pork belly was thick yet tender; one said it broke apart under chopsticks.
  4. Two posts called the portions generous and one said the bowl looked small but filled them up. No post called the ramen small, though one said the karaage in the set was a skimpy portion.

Getting inside

In a basementyes 0 · no 5 (of 6 posts read)

It is on the 7th floor, not underground. Five posts described going up to the 7th-floor food hall, mostly by the central escalator or the escalator inside the CGV cinema.

No post describes getting in with a wheelchair or pushchair, and nobody mentions a step or a lift; the only route described is by escalator. That means nobody wrote about it, not that access is lacking.

Only one post mentions toilets, saying they are close by. We don't know whether they are the floor's shared toilets or whether they are separated by gender.

No one mentioned: Second floor · Lift to the floor · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Toilet inside · Accessible toilet · Separate restrooms. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

What we do not know

  • Two posts found the fried items crisp (the gyoza, the prawn tempura and the karaage). The karaage itself splits opinion, though: one post found the coating thin and crisp with a moist inside, another found it small and dry.
  • We know little about waits. One post saw people queuing to order at around 5 pm. Another said the buzzer went off just as they were getting tired of waiting, while a third said the food came out quickly. No post gave a wait time in minutes.
  • No post describes the walk from Yongsan Station. 'Yongsan Station' shows up often as a search keyword, but posts only explain how to get up to the 7th floor inside the mall. We can't say how the trip by train or bus goes.
  • Company is not clear: one post went with a mother, one on a date, and the rest didn't say. No post describes visiting with children.
  • Four posts give opening hours, all copied in rather than observed. Three say 11:00-21:00 and one says 11:00-22:00 with last orders at 21:00; last orders are otherwise given as 20:50. One post says it closes on the mall's closing days.
  • The fullest price list comes from one August 2026 post: pork belly ramen 12,900 won (17,900 won as a set), jambon 10,900 won (15,900 won), lamb skewer 16,900 won (21,900 won). A September post put the pork belly set at 17,000 won instead. No post priced the cold prawn ramen. Nobody found it expensive, and one post called it good value for a mall food hall.
  • Two posts give different phone numbers (02-2021-1628 and 02-2012-1628), so we can't confirm either. No post mentions reservations.
  • No post discloses sponsorship, but all six fall within five weeks and many repeat the same summer-menu angle and the same search keywords. Bear in mind that some may be promotional.
