Grill house
Mongsangga
몽상가 Mongsangga (夢想家) means 'dreamer'; the name hangs in Chinese characters on a red neon sign at the end of the alley.

Mongsangga is a charcoal-brazier grill house at 7-16 Hangang-daero 38ga-gil, Yongsan, tucked in an alley behind the post office across from Exit 1 of Sinyongsan Station, marked by a red neon sign in Chinese characters. The ground floor is a counter wrapped around the kitchen, the upper floor has tables, and there is an annex next door. Nearly everyone ordered the two-person set (79,000 won): three beef cuts plus marinated chicken neck and Ibérico pork neck, grilled yourself over a small charcoal brazier, finished with fried-onion rice and jjanko-nabe, a tomato-broth intestine hotpot. Konjac noodles, pickled cucumber and radish salad come as sides, and several posts got an ice cream on the way out. We read 30 posts from 31 July 2025 to 17 September 2026; 28 describe a visit and 26 ate the two-person set. The phone number given is 0507-1326-6825.

Counted from what bloggers wrote in their posts; we did not confirm it with the restaurant. Where the values differ, it may be a change over time rather than a disagreement, so we show when each one was written.
What sets it apart
- You order by scanning the QR code on the table; 17 of the 28 visit posts say so. One noted that the order-history screen never loaded, so they couldn't check what they had already ordered.
- Of 16 posts that discussed price, 12 called it good value and none called it expensive. The two-person set stayed at 79,000 won in every post from July 2025 to September 2026 — though many of those twelve posts fall in the late-August to early-September 2026 cluster.
- It is a small room. No post called it spacious; six said it was tight or cosy, with tables close together. One found the ground floor tiny but the upper floor roomier. Noise is split: two posts found it quiet, one found it loud because neighbours sat so close.
- Two posts found it salty — one the whole set, one the hotpot, which grew saltier as it cooked down. Seven posts called something spicy, all referring to the jjanko-nabe.

- 11 of the 28 visit posts booked ahead through Naver or Catchtable. One requested and got a window seat; two said the upper floor was full by 7 pm on a weekday.

Parking

Both posts that drove found no parking at the restaurant: one used a private lot because the nearby public lot was always full, the other parked at I'Park Mall and walked about 15 minutes. The many 'no parking' lines in info boxes are copied listings and were not counted.

Where it is

We could not find this shop’s own listing on Naver Map, so the link searches for its Korean name around this spot instead.

Getting inside
| Second floor | 20 of 28 posts |

| In a basement | yes 0 · no 2 (of 28 posts read) |
| Toilet inside | 3 of 28 posts |
| Separate restrooms | yes 0 · no 1 (of 28 posts read) |
Where you sit depends on the floor. 20 posts sat upstairs or noted the upper floor. Five ate at the ground-floor counter facing the kitchen and watched the cooking; upstairs holds about five two- and four-seat tables. Four posts singled out the stairs as steep or narrow. One post alone said there is no seating on the ground floor.
No one said whether there is a step at the door or whether a wheelchair or stroller can get in — that is unknown, not absent. Four posts say the upper floor is reached only by steep stairs; none mentions a lift.
Three posts say the toilet is inside; one placed it right by the ground-floor entrance and noted it is unisex.
No one mentioned: Lift to the floor · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Accessible toilet. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

Posts that followed a TV spot
Of the 30 posts we gathered, 2 went up on a single day right after a TV spot and show no sign of a visit. They retell the broadcast, so we left them out of the counts.
We do not discard them. That a TV spot produced a burst of posts is itself something worth knowing about a place, and a star rating will not show it.

What we do not know
- No post describes queuing. One says booking let them walk straight in, and two only guessed there might be a wait. How long a walk-in waits is unknown.
- 24 posts list opening hours, all copied from info boxes. From 3 August 2026 on, 17 posts agree: Sunday to Friday 17:00-23:00, Saturday 15:00-23:00. Three earlier posts (January, April, July 2026) had both weekend days opening at 15:00. Two July 2026 posts alone list weekday lunch with a 14:00-17:00 break, contradicting another post from the same month. Only one post says it never closes. Check before going.
- Private rooms are mentioned often, but mostly as hearsay; we counted only the two posts that seem to have seen one. Posts also describe an annex next door and even three separate buildings, so the seating you get depends on which door you're shown to.
- 16 of the 30 posts appeared within six days (30 August to 4 September 2026) and repeat the same promotional phrases. Four disclose sponsorship, three say they paid themselves, and the rest say nothing. Sponsored and self-paid posts describe the same set at the same price.
