ZIPPUL

짚뿔닭발 신용산점 Jippul Dakbal Sinyongsan-jeom Jippul plays on jipbul, a fire of rice straw — the chain's chicken feet (dakbal) are smoked over burning straw, after a story of 1988 night-shift workers in Daegu's Seongseo industrial park.

Jippul Dakbal Sinyongsan is a chicken-feet pub that opened in September 2026 on the ground floor of a building down a Yongni-dan-gil side street, a few minutes' walk from Sinyongsan Station exit 1. It is a branch of the Sindang-dong original. You order chicken feet in thick gochujang sauce (11,900 won per person) or with beef intestine added (14,900 won), choosing heat level and boneless or bone-in. The pot comes almost cooked and you warm it on a table burner. Most tables add a cheese potato pancake (21,900 won), egg soup (4,900 won), egg fried rice (6,000 won) and the cucumber-soju kettle set (15,900 won). From October an autumn webfoot-octopus version appears. We read 30 posts dated 29 May to 16 October 2026. Twenty-two describe a visit here; we set aside eight that were about the Sindang, Konkuk University or Gangnam branches, or that only linked to this place.

Rows without a count: 10 of 16 posts.

Counted from what bloggers wrote in their posts; we did not confirm it with the restaurant. Where the values differ, it may be a change over time rather than a disagreement, so we show when each one was written.

What sets it apart

  1. Expect to wait on weekend evenings. Eight posts report a queue. The waits they give: 10 minutes on a Friday evening, 20 minutes on a Saturday evening, more than an hour plus another 15 minutes at about 6 pm on a weekend with over ten groups ahead, and 29 groups ahead at 8 pm on a public-holiday Friday. One post found a group already waiting three minutes before the 5 pm Saturday opening; another walked straight in at 5:30 on a Saturday and watched a queue form behind them. You join the queue on the spot through Tabling; one post says that is the only way. Just one post differs: on a weekday evening on 15 September, right after opening, it was quiet.
  2. You order by scanning the QR code on your table; twelve posts did. There is a laminated menu on the table too. One post said that because nearly everything went through the QR code they barely dealt with staff and could not judge the service.
  3. Post after post says even the mild level is hot. Fifteen posts call it spicy and three are on the fence. The original level was compared to Shin Ramyun, to somewhere between Shin Ramyun and Buldak, and to Buldak fire noodles. People who ordered mild still wrote that it could not honestly be called mild and that it is hot eaten on its own. One post put mild at ordinary tteokbokki level. Every table gets mayonnaise and pickled radish, and most posts leaned on the egg soup or potato pancake to cool down.
  4. Two posts call it cramped: the room is small and tables are pushed so close you sit almost like one party with your neighbours. Several describe the layout as about six round street-stall tables in the middle, sofa booths along both walls and a window counter where you sit side by side. One notes you can store bags inside the round-table stools. Many mention dim lighting; one table had no light overhead at all and ate by phone torch.

  1. Eight posts went with friends, two with a partner or husband, one with parents. One post guessed the room was over 70 percent women; another said it was mostly couples.

Parking

Getting inside

In a basementyes 0 · no 1 (of 22 posts read)
Toilet inside4 of 22 posts

No one says whether there is a step at the entrance or whether a wheelchair or pushchair can get in. That means we don't know, not that there's a problem. One post says it is on the ground floor.

The toilet is inside the restaurant; four posts say so. One found it handy at the back of the room, another describes the way to it beside the counter, and two mention it being clean because the place is new. Nobody says whether it is split by gender.

No one mentioned: Second floor · Lift to the floor · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Accessible toilet · Separate restrooms. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

What we do not know

  • Opening hours vary between posts. Eight agree on 4 pm to 11 pm Sunday to Thursday and 5 pm to midnight Friday and Saturday, with last orders an hour before closing, mostly copied from the listing. One post gives 4:30 to 11:30 pm Sunday to Thursday, one says Friday also opens at 4 pm, and one says 5 pm to midnight every day. One copied listing says it never closes.
  • Prices mostly agree, with a few gaps. Six posts from 15 to 23 September give 14,900 won per person for the intestine dish; one on 30 September gives 15,900 won. One post lists egg soup at 5,900 won against 4,900 elsewhere. One pair spent 74,500 won on the two-person set (52,600 won), egg rice balls and the soju kettle. Two posts found it expensive, one saying the sides weren't worth the price; one post, written after a free meal from the restaurant, called it good value.
  • Several posts give the phone number as 0507-1339-4134. According to the copied listing, Naver reservations are for groups of four or more; one post copies a minimum spend of 70,000 won for four and 100,000 won for six. Pairs queued at the door. One post recommends booking through Naver, but its writer did not get in that way either.
  • Many posts follow the same pattern. Nine ordered exactly the same five things (intestine chicken feet, cheese potato pancake, egg soup, egg fried rice, soju kettle), and only one of them says the meal was provided by the restaurant. Two October posts ordered the same four octopus-season dishes. Five posts say they paid themselves. The claim that the feet are grilled over straw comes from the restaurant's own story; one post noted there was no straw grilling to watch at this branch.
  • The menu has changed. September posts list only the plain and intestine chicken feet as mains; from 10 October posts mention a new autumn webfoot-octopus version. One diner was told large octopus were short and got small ones; another found it sold out because few portions are made. Nobody gives its price.
