Gossine Donghae Makguksu
고씨네동해막국수 Gossine means 'the Go family's place', Donghae is the East Sea coast, and makguksu is Gangwon-style buckwheat noodles; the posts say the original shop has been run by two generations near Gangmun Beach in Gangneung, and this is its Seoul branch.

A buckwheat-noodle house in a hanok down the alley beside Ssamzigil in Insa-dong, described as the Seoul branch of a two-generation shop at Gangmun Beach in Gangneung. The core is house-made makguksu with boiled pork in one- or two-person sets, plus Chodang soft tofu, buckwheat gimbap and stone-pot bibimbap. Cold noodles were 11,000 won and the two-person set 38,000 won in October 2026. We read 26 posts from 22 November 2025 to 14 October 2026; 25 describe a visit, and 11 of the 26 came out within a single week, 7-14 October 2026.

The values differ, but the periods they were written in do not overlap. This looks like a change over time rather than a disagreement, and the top row is the most recently reported. We did not confirm it with the restaurant.
What sets it apart
- Staff set out the first round of side dishes; after that you help yourself at a self-serve bar. Sixteen posts said so, naming young-radish kimchi, cubed radish kimchi and pickled onion again and again. One suggested wrapping the noodles in the radish-green kimchi.
- You order from a device at the table: eight posts mention it — a tablet in five, a kiosk in two, a QR code in one. One noted the tablet offers Korean, English, Japanese and Chinese, and you pay up front.
- There are separate annex rooms at the back: five posts saw them or were seated in one, and one listed them as 24, 12 and 10 seats. Several posts say groups of six or more can book through Naver.
- Eleven posts called the place large; one gave 150 seats, two mentioned generous spacing between tables.
1 more
- Ten posts noticed many foreign diners — one saw a tour group queuing with suitcases, another overheard Japanese at the next table.

Two posts wrote in their own words that there is no parking; one pointed to the Seoinsa-madang public lot about 100 m away. Other mentions are copied listing text, which we did not count.

Where it is

We could not find this shop’s own listing on Naver Map, so the link searches for its Korean name around this spot instead.

9 posts say it is walkable from the station.
Getting inside
| Toilet inside | 2 of 24 posts |
|---|
No post described the floor or any stairs from experience; only the address says ground floor, so we don't know.
No one described a step at the door or getting in with a wheelchair or stroller. One post's 'wheelchair accessible entrance' is copied listing text, not something the writer saw. That means we don't know, not that it isn't there.
Two posts said the restroom is inside the restaurant. Whether it is split by gender appears only in copied listing text, so we don't know.
No one mentioned: Second floor · In a basement · Lift to the floor · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Accessible toilet · Separate restrooms. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

Posts that followed a TV spot
Of the 25 posts we gathered, 1 went up on a single day right after a TV spot and show no sign of a visit. They retell the broadcast, so we left them out of the counts.
We do not discard them. That a TV spot produced a burst of posts is itself something worth knowing about a place, and a star rating will not show it.

What we do not know
- Five posts waited and one walked straight in. The waits were at weekday lunch peak and at 2 p.m. on a weekend; no one gave minutes. There is no waitlist machine or ticket — you just stand in line outside — and two posts said the line moved fast.
- Opinions on heat split: one post found the spicy noodles a bit hot, three said the dishes were not spicy, and two called them mildly hot.
- Opening hours changed. Two posts from November-December 2025 gave 11:00-21:00 daily (last order 20:30); fifteen from January 2026 on give 11:00-21:30 (last order 21:00), with a 16:00-17:00 break appearing from April 2026. Two 2026 posts still list 21:00. All of this is copied listing text; only one post mentions a day off — the day after major holidays.
- Prices vary by date. Cold noodles were 10,000 won in an April 2026 post and 11,000 won in October. The two-person set was 41,000 won in March, 37,000-53,000 won in May and 38,000 won in two October posts. One pair paid 54,500 won with extra gimbap; another paid 65,000 won with crepes and beer.
- Nine posts list the phone number 0507-1354-0577; one November 2025 post gave 02-737-0575 for reservations. Several posts say Naver booking is for six or more; none describes a small party booking by phone.
- The eleven posts from 7-14 October 2026 share titles and stock phrases and look like a promotion campaign. Only one post (September 2026) discloses sponsorship; two say the writer paid.
