A pizza pub in the Dongyang Building facing Gwanghuimun gate, right by exit 3 of Dongdaemun History & Culture Park station. You check in with staff on the ground floor, then take a lift to the glass-walled 5th and 6th floors or the 7th-floor rooftop. Pizzas run 22,800–27,800 won (Type A) and 29,800 won (Type B), any two can be combined half-and-half, and everyone must order a drink. Cream and tomato pastas joined the menu in spring 2026. We read 30 posts from 9 March to 17 October 2026; one was a list of restaurants elsewhere and was set aside, leaving 29 visits.

Rows without a count: 7 of 17 posts.

Counted from what bloggers wrote in their posts; we did not confirm it with the restaurant. Where the values differ, it may be a change over time rather than a disagreement, so we show when each one was written.

What sets it apart

  1. This is a book-ahead place: 17 posts booked or said you can (Naver or CatchTable, per floor). Walk-ins fared differently — one got a window seat at 6 pm on a Monday before it filled by 7, one was given an aisle table on a Friday, and one started at a bar seat facing the sink before staff moved them to a window sofa until its booking time.
  2. Eight posts say each person must order a drink. One couple only found out after ordering two dishes; another read it as a kind of table charge for the view.
  3. Ordering is by the QR code on each table, as 14 posts describe; several mention a paper menu too. One regular wrote that this was new since a winter visit.
  4. The 5th and 6th floors are glass-walled, looking onto Gwanghuimun, the city wall and DDP; 12 posts sat by the window. One says window seats go in booking order; a family visiting by day found the half-drawn curtains left them baking, with no four-person table in the shade.

  1. Twelve posts walked from the station, from 'practically in front of' exit 3 to five or ten minutes; one found the building a little tucked away.
  2. Posting on Instagram or leaving a Naver receipt review earns a dish of marinated tomatoes (6,000 won on the menu); three writers received it.
  3. Six posts are from repeat visitors — one has come more than ten times since 2022, another five or six times, another with colleagues as a standing haunt.
  4. Company: friends or colleagues in 8 posts, a partner in 7, a larger group in 3, family in 2. One writer saw group tables in daylight give way to couples after dark.

Getting inside

Getting in is unusual: 17 posts took the lift. You tell the ground-floor staff, who send you through a side door or inner passage to a dedicated lift. One writer's friend headed up the stairs by mistake; another noted floors 2–4 are a guesthouse, so you may share the lift with tourists.

Nobody wrote about a step at the entrance or arriving with a wheelchair or pushchair — unknown, not absent. One post says the lift is full with about three people, and the 7th floor is split into two levels by stairs.

Toilets are disputed: one post says inside the restaurant, two say outside the door — on the 5th floor the women's is just past the fire door and the men's half a flight up. Three posts say they are separate by sex; one notes a unisex toilet on the 7th floor.

No one mentioned: Second floor · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Accessible toilet. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

What we do not know

  • The 7th-floor rooftop is not always open; 11 posts sat there. A March post expected it to reopen around 23 April, a September post gives the seasons as April–July and August–November. Three posts could not use it in rain, and one group was moved to the 5th floor in June heat. Several mention blankets and table lamps after dark.
  • Heat is disputed: five posts found things spicy (three about the Angry Luigi, two about the wings), while two said the Angry Luigi was only mildly hot.
  • No one reported queueing or a wait time. One group waited briefly downstairs for the rooftop to open; others saw it fill by 7 pm on weekdays. That people who skip the ground-floor desk get sent back down is hearsay.
  • Opening hours appear in 17 posts, mostly copied blocks. The most common version is Mon–Thu 17:00–24:00, Fri 17:00–01:00, Sat 12:00–01:00, Sun 12:00–24:00, last orders 30 minutes before closing. One post puts last orders an hour before; a 25 May block shows no weekend daytime opening, and a regular says there was none in winter. One post adds that the 6th and 7th floors close earlier than the 5th.
  • Prices agree across posts: Super Mario 27,800 won, Type B 29,800 won, Kabrew draught 6,500 won. Only the salad differs — 13,000 won in September, 14,000 in October. The one full bill reported was 33,800 won for two (a half-and-half pizza and a Coke Zero). One post found it easy on the wallet, another 'not cheap'.
  • The phone number 0507-1405-9706 appears in nine posts and 02-2269-9706 (group bookings) in two. No one booked by phone; most used Naver or CatchTable.
  • Three things changed: a March post said pasta was coming, and from late May the cream and tomato pastas (17,900 won) are on the menu; a regular reports weekend daytime opening and QR ordering arrived after a winter visit.
  • Several posts share the same promotional keywords ('DDP restaurant', 'Dongdaemun pub', 'Dongdaemun date course'), and one repeats a keyword string over and over. Four posts disclose sponsorship or a free meal; seven say they paid. The 72-hour cold-fermented dough and the TV appearance are the shop's own claims, repeated, and were not counted.
