속초오징어어시장 종각점 Sokcho Ojingeo Eosijang means 'Sokcho Squid Fish Market', after the east-coast port city of Sokcho; this is the Jonggak branch.

Compiled from 9 blog posts read in fullSources →

A raw-fish house on the ground floor of a building on Jongno 14-gil, near Jonggak Station. It sells live-fish sashimi, live squid and seafood sets, and at lunch (11:00-15:00) grilled-fish set meals such as mackerel. There are outdoor tables on the street out front. Posts describe two people sharing the house seasonal platter for two (42,000 won) plus spicy fish stew (9,000-9,500 won), or groups of three or four ordering a Sokcho set (99,000-109,000 won). We read 30 posts from August to October 2026; 9 of them describe an actual visit.

Rows without a count: 3 of 4 posts.

Counted from what bloggers wrote in their posts; we did not confirm it with the restaurant. Where the values differ, it may be a change over time rather than a disagreement, so we show when each one was written.

What sets it apart

  1. Side dishes are refilled from a self-service bar: 6 of the 9 visit posts mention it. One says the seaweed soup is kept simmering so refills are hot; another lists lettuce, perilla, kimchi and ssamjang through to sujebi and ramen noodles. Two posts (September and October) say the ramen noodles for the fish stew are free and unlimited.
  2. There are outdoor street tables out front, mentioned in 4 posts. One October post found the round outdoor tables cramped, so close together that a seafood plate had to sit on the gas burner for a while, and said they kept fanning away small insects. A September post saw the outdoor seats but went inside because it was chilly.
  3. Three posts say the room is large, with generous spacing and enough tables for groups. It does get busy: one weekday-evening post called it packed and loud, and others noted crowds on a Thursday evening and at 8:30 pm.
  4. Two posts say from experience that it is a walk from Jonggak Station; the '378 m from Exit 4' and 'about 6 minutes on foot' figures are copied listings. One September post said getting a taxi at Jonggak late at night was hard.

  1. No post calls it expensive; three call it good value. On the October 2026 menu, flatfish sashimi for one is 23,000 won, the house seasonal platter for two 42,000 won, and soju or beer 5,000 won.

Getting inside

Separate restrooms1 of 9 posts

No post describes the floor level or any steps from experience; only the address says 'ground floor'.

No one says whether there is a step at the door or whether a wheelchair or stroller gets in. That means we don't know, not that access is missing. 'High chairs available' appears only in a copied listing.

Only one post describes the restroom: separate men's and women's rooms behind a door code, reached through the restaurant itself, which made them easy to use. No one says whether there is an accessible restroom.

No one mentioned: Second floor · In a basement · Lift to the floor · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Accessible toilet. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

Posts that followed a TV spot

Of the 30 posts we gathered, 21 went up on a single day right after a TV spot and show no sign of a visit. They retell the broadcast, so we left them out of the counts.

2026-10-173 posts in one day
2026-10-163 posts in one day

2026-10-122 posts in one day

We do not discard them. That a TV spot produced a burst of posts is itself something worth knowing about a place, and a star rating will not show it.

What we do not know

  • Lunch-special prices disagree between posts: the grilled mackerel set is 15,000 won (11 Sep), 12,000 won (30 Sep) and 13,000 won (17 Oct), which does not read as a clean rise or fall. Check the price on arrival.
  • Only one post mentions waiting: no queue on a weekday evening. Several say it was crowded, but none describe lining up. We do not know about weekend evenings or the lunch rush.
  • Three posts say who they went with, all friends. None went with children or family, or alone, so we cannot say how it suits those visits.
  • Three posts give the same opening hours, Mon-Sat 11:00 to 05:00 the next morning and Sunday 11:00-24:00, though in copied-listing form. One 30 September post says 11:00-23:00 instead. No post mentions a closing day.
  • The phone number 0507-1396-8307 appears in the promotional batch and one menu-copying post. 'Reservations and groups accepted' also appears only in copied listings; no post describes actually booking.
  • 20 of the 30 posts (one on 7 August, 19 between 11 and 17 October) follow a single template: the same phrases about 'live fish shipped from the source', an 'open kitchen', 'seasonal platters and sets' and 'walkable from Jonggak Station', the same order of mullet and flounder with fritters or cold soup, and the same name-address-phone footer. They give no price, wait or seating detail, so we did not count them as visits.
