Jongno Bansanghoe
종로반상회 A bansanghoe is the old monthly neighbourhood residents' meeting; the house plays on it, naming its set menus after the block chief (tongjang) and village head (ijang).

A Korean set-meal house two minutes from exit 4 of Jonggak Station, down a flight of stairs in a basement behind Bosingak. Today it is built around bossam: weekday lunch brings spicy pork or braised-kimchi trays at 10,000 won (bossam at 12,000) with self-serve rice, and evenings turn into a drinking table around a small bossam spread for two at 34,000 won or a large one for three at 48,000, with chive pancake, black-sesame fried pork and soy-dressed whelk. Posts up to January 2026 describe a different menu centred on perilla pork stir-fry and a bulgogi-octopus hotpot; posts from June 2026 on describe the bossam menu. We read 30 posts from 21 April 2025 to 6 October 2026: 16 record actually eating here, 12 only introduce the place, and 2 are about a different restaurant on the 4th floor of the same building.

Counted from what bloggers wrote in their posts; we did not confirm it with the restaurant. Where the values differ, it may be a change over time rather than a disagreement, so we show when each one was written.
What sets it apart
- Weekday lunch around noon draws a line. Of five posts that mention waiting, two saw one: a diner who walked straight in at about 11:25 watched a queue form by 11:40–11:50, and another found people lined up at the entrance at lunchtime. The three who did not wait came around 2 p.m. or early in the evening. No one recorded how many minutes they waited.
- At weekday lunch you are handed an empty bowl and serve yourself from the rice cookers; three posts say the rice was black rice. Four posts record going back for more side dishes or greens, and one notes a sign asking diners to take only what they will eat.
- Eight posts call the portions large. A couple who ordered the small bossam plus a pot of braised kimchi left food behind and suggest one main and a pancake for two.
- Four posts say the pork had no off smell, none say otherwise, and three say the seasoning was not salty.
1 more
- Four posts describe groups (colleagues, a team, five friends), two friends (the five-friend dinner counted in both), two a partner, and one a mother and daughter.

We could not find this shop’s own listing on Naver Map, so the link searches for its Korean name around this spot instead.

Getting inside
| In a basement | 11 of 16 posts |

| Toilet inside | 1 of 16 posts |
Eleven of the visit posts say the room is underground, reached by stairs. One calls the stairs fairly steep and mentions a large 'mind your head / mind the step' sign at the door. Another says it does not feel closed in, because you can see street level up the stairwell.
Nobody says whether there is a step at the door or whether a wheelchair or pushchair can get in — not that it's impossible, just unrecorded. The only way in anyone describes is the stairs down; no post mentions a lift to this floor.
Only one post, from November 2025, mentions the toilet: inside the restaurant and clean. Nobody says whether it is separated by gender.
No one mentioned: Second floor · Lift to the floor · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Accessible toilet · Separate restrooms. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

Posts that followed a TV spot
Of the 28 posts we gathered, 12 went up on a single day right after a TV spot and show no sign of a visit. They retell the broadcast, so we left them out of the counts.
We do not discard them. That a TV spot produced a burst of posts is itself something worth knowing about a place, and a star rating will not show it.

What we do not know
- Posts disagree one to one on the ceiling: one found it high, one low. On noise, two found it quiet while one said it is not the place for a hushed conversation.
- Every post gives the same opening hours, 11:00–22:00 with a 15:00–17:00 break, and two give last orders at 21:00. Weekends are the open question: six visit posts say closed Saturday and Sunday, four say open daily — all four copied from a listing. Weekend closure appears from April 2025 onward, but the latest post (October 2026) repeats 'daily', so check before a weekend visit.
- Prices have moved: black-sesame fried pork went from 15,000 won (June 2025) to 23,000 (Sept 2026); dinner braised kimchi was 16,000 per person in Nov 2025 and 23,000 for a two-person pot in Sept 2026. The 10,000-won weekday lunch trays held steady from Nov 2025 to Oct 2026. The only per-head dinner figure is from April 2025: about 20,000 won each for five sharing a set.
- Most posts list the phone number 0507-1439-8936; one July 2026 post gives 070-7755-8926. One January 2026 group says it booked through Naver.
- Eight introductory posts from August–September 2026 share one template (the 108 m from exit 4 line, the hours block, 'check before visiting', the same team-dinner and date hashtags), and one still contains a leftover writing instruction. We did not count any of them as visits.
