Jongno Sageori Pocha
종로사거리포차 Sageori means a crossroads and pocha is short for pojangmacha, the Korean tent bar — a Jongno crossroads tent bar; one post notes it sits right at a crossroads, as the name says.

A big indoor pocha (tent-bar style pub) in the basement of the Jongno Core building on Jonggak's Street of Youth, near exit 4 of Jonggak Station. It is decorated with old movie posters and retro props and sells stews, stir-fries, raw dishes and fried snacks, both à la carte and in sets. Visit posts list dishes from 9,900 won (sugared tomato, bacon omelette) to 39,000 won (salmon and beef tartare platter), one set at 57,900 won, and 500cc draft beer at 5,500 won. We read 30 posts dated January 2025 to October 2026; 14 describe an actual visit. Twelve were about other places that only share the name, and four were listings or intros we did not count as visits.

Rows without a count: 8 of 12 posts.
Counted from what bloggers wrote in their posts; we did not confirm it with the restaurant. Where the values differ, it may be a change over time rather than a disagreement, so we show when each one was written.
What sets it apart
- It is a large space. Ten of the 14 visit posts say so, and three quote a floor area of 120 pyeong (about 400 m²). One compared it to a bowling alley; a February 2026 post watched a party of more than twenty sit down with room to spare. Two posts mention a separate room holding 20 to 30 people.
- Fried hardtack biscuits dusted with sugar come free. Seven posts mention them, four saying you scoop them yourself from a self-serve corner by the counter. Two posts add that water and wet towels are self-serve too.
- Generous portions come up repeatedly: nine of the 14 visit posts mention quantity, all saying it was plenty. One says set items came at full single-dish size, another guessed the egg soup held at least ten eggs, and a third couldn't fit in the side dish they had planned.
- Eleven visit posts talk about price. Four say it is cheap (one compares dishes to the price of a bowl of gukbap); one found the 57,900 won set a bit steep; a sponsored post said it might look high but was fair, which we count as no clear verdict. The rest just list prices. Posts also mention promotions such as a stopwatch game for a 10,000 won coupon, two-for-one draft beer on Sundays, and 4,000 won Sunday soju.
3 more
- Three posts note an indoor smoking room, so smokers don't have to climb back up to the street.
- Four posts found the food spicy, mostly the boneless chicken feet — one said it was hotter than expected — and two cooled down afterwards with egg soup or sugared tomato.
- Three posts say you order from a kiosk at your table. One adds that sides and desserts stay locked until you've ordered a main.

Where it is

We could not find this shop’s own listing on Naver Map, so the link searches for its Korean name around this spot instead.

Getting inside
| In a basement | 8 of 14 posts |
|---|---|
| Separate restrooms | 1 of 14 posts |
You go down a flight of stairs; eight posts describe descending to the basement. Two warn that the stairs are steep — one advises care going up and down after drinking, another admits to missing a step while looking at the props along the stairway.
Nobody says whether there is a lift or whether a wheelchair or stroller can get in. The only way in anyone describes is the stairs down, which two posts call steep. That is an absence of reports, not a confirmed absence of access.
No post clearly says the toilets are inside the bar. One mentions a life-size Freddie Mercury figure on the way to the restroom, another that the toilets are separated by gender and clean.
No one mentioned: Second floor · Lift to the floor · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Toilet inside · Accessible toilet. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

Posts that followed a TV spot
Of the 18 posts we gathered, 4 went up on a single day right after a TV spot and show no sign of a visit. They retell the broadcast, so we left them out of the counts.
We do not discard them. That a TV spot produced a burst of posts is itself something worth knowing about a place, and a star rating will not show it.

What we do not know
- No post reports waiting. Two walked straight in on weekday evenings; one weekend visitor described the place as packed but didn't say whether there was a line, so weekend waits are unknown.
- All nine posts that say who they went with were nights out with friends. None went with family or children, so we can't say how it suits kids.
- All the opening hours are copied from listings. Ten posts agree: Monday to Thursday 5 pm to 4 am, Friday and Saturday 5 pm to 5 am, Sunday 5 pm to 2 am, last orders an hour before closing. An April 2025 post gives earlier closing times, and the most recent post (October 2026) gives a 4 pm opening, so a change is possible but unconfirmed.
- Prices shift over time. The boneless chicken feet were 21,000 won in January and March 2025 posts and 22,000 won by December 2025 and February 2026. Two posts five days apart in December 2025 give the Nagasaki seafood soup as 23,000 and 25,000 won.
- Ten posts list the phone number as 0507-1304-8421; two also give 02-725-8562. One post actually booked, through Naver Booking. Many posts say group buyouts are possible, but that repeats the venue's own promotion.
- Of the visit posts, two disclose sponsorship, two say they paid themselves, and ten say nothing. Four share the same hashtags (Jonggak buyout, Jonggak value pub) and buyout pitch, and several repeat the 120-pyeong figure, so some may be commissioned. Read the praise with that in mind.
