Data as of · Published ·
Jeongbak Eoga is a wood-oven fish grill on the second floor of the G-Valley Biz Plaza, a short walk from Guro Digital Complex station. One writer dates the opening to August 2025; the posts we read run from September 2025 to September 2026. The menu is built around one format, the *jeongchan* tray: a whole grilled fish with a clay pot of white rice, seaweed soup and four small sides. You lift the rice out, pour hot water or barley tea into the pot, and eat the scorched-rice porridge that forms at the end of the meal — more than twenty writers describe doing exactly that. Mackerel, belt fish, Spanish mackerel, atka mackerel and croaker, plus a salmon steak; for anyone who does not eat fish, a squid-and-pork stir-fry or beef, and braises and stews in the same tray format. You order and pay from a tablet at the table. A pot of chicken porridge sits on the self-service bar at no charge. Closed Sundays.

The values differ, but the periods they were written in do not overlap. This looks like a change over time rather than a disagreement, and the top row is the most recently reported. We did not confirm it with the restaurant.
What sets it apart
- What writers here talk about most is not the house dish but the free porridge. Twenty-seven of the twenty-nine mention the pot of chicken *juk* on the self-service bar, and thirteen say they helped themselves. Its purpose is agreed on: it fills the ten-odd minutes the clay-pot rice takes. Two went back for a second bowl; one watched her children refill their own twice; one arrived with a sore stomach and says the porridge settled it. One writer warns that too much of it will cost you the fish. The same bar holds the refills for the small sides, plus lettuce and dipping paste. On the seasoning they disagree — lightly salted, says one; properly savoury, says another.
- The wood oven is the restaurant's claim, and the writers take it up in the same way every time. A sign out front says the fish is cleaned daily and fired at 500°C, and post after post copies that line and then adds the same verdict: no fishy smell. One says she cannot work out how it is done; another that it leaves none of the coating on the tongue that grilled fish usually does; a third that it simply is not what a home frying pan produces. Crisp skin over moist flesh comes up as often. Not one writer found it fishy. Whether the oven is the reason, or the daily cleaning, nobody tested — they are all repeating the shop's own explanation.
- You order and pay without leaving your seat. Every table has a tablet: you pick from photographs and settle the bill there. One writer notes that cash is taken at the counter by the door, another that the tablet will split a bill. One puts the appeal plainly — as an introvert, she is glad not to have to talk to anyone. Several add that a large menu board stands outside the door, so you can decide before you go in.
- Roomy is the word that comes back. Two writers count three separate sections; one finds a semi-enclosed area at the back that she is careful to say is not quite a private room; one notes that the four-tops are bigger than usual. Several mention the gaps between tables. Hence both the writer who saw a party of eight seated and the writer who says it is an easy place to eat alone. Nobody calls it cramped. Several describe the fit-out: dark brick, and wooden framing borrowed from a traditional house.
- Nobody says there was too little. Mackerel is sold by the half fish or the whole; several writers found the half plenty — it overhangs the plate, says one; bigger than expected for a half, says another. Others push the other way: one is glad she did not stop at half, and one points out that the whole fish costs only ₩3,000 more. Two writers were surprised to get a belt fish whole rather than cut into steaks.
- It is a walk from exit 3 at Guro Digital Complex station — the distances given cluster around six hundred metres, the times split between seven and ten minutes. The building sits beside the E-Mart; several writers say to take the escalator by the Olive Young, or the entrance with the GS25, and go up one floor. Three say the signage on the second floor got them there without a wrong turn on a first visit. One adds that the buses work too.
- Four writers say they saw the high chairs themselves — not as an item copied off a facilities list, but in passing, as the reason a visit with a baby worked. One more found child-sized bowls and spoons at the self-service bar; one watched her children get through two bowls of the porridge each. For anyone worried about bones, one writer recommends the Spanish mackerel — sold as the almost-boneless one — as the dish to give a small child. Nobody mentions a changing table or a play area.
- Two writers read the origin board. One describes it as carefully filled in and mounted on the wall; the other photographed it in case it mattered later. The menu names carry origins too — Norwegian mackerel, Korean Spanish mackerel. Neither writer, though, transcribes what the board actually said.
- You do not walk in off the street — it is one floor up, inside a mall. Twenty-two writers say so, and the routes up divide three ways: escalator (by the Olive Young, or round the back of the building), lift (three writers, one of them riding straight up from the basement car park), and the entrance by the GS25, then along to the end of the restaurant floor. Three writers say the second-floor signage got them there without a wrong turn on a first visit. Nobody describes climbing stairs, and nobody counts any. Two give neighbours as the landmark: the sushi buffet next door, and the clay-pot rice place beside it.

What people order
The most ordered dish is Godeungeo-gui Jeongchan (노르웨이 청정 고등어구이 정찬) — 21 of 29 posts.
The prices here are what bloggers wrote down in their posts, and they may have changed since. Check Naver Place for the current menu and prices. This list is not a menu board — it counts what bloggers actually ordered and ate. Check on Naver Place
Parking
3 posts say you can park. None say you cannot.

'Parking available' appears again and again, but only three writers actually parked. Most of those lines are lifted straight from the Naver listing, and even there they disagree — free, says one; two hours free, says another. The three who drove are the only specific ones: park in the basement and come up to the second floor; park in the plaza and tell the restaurant, who will register the plate; use the car park shared with the Lotte City Hotel. One adds that you ask the staff when you pay. How long the validation covers, and on what terms, differs from post to post and has not been established — one writer simply tells you to ring and ask before you go.

Not one post says whether a wheelchair or a pushchair gets in. Nor whether there is a step at the door, nor a ramp. Here is everything we do know: the restaurant is on the second floor of the building; three writers mention a lift, one of them riding it up from the basement car park, and two came up by escalator. Several describe a wide room with generous gaps between tables, but that is not a measurement of a doorway. Nobody even copies the 'wheelchair accessible' line from the listing — on this shop, that box was never ticked at all.
No one mentioned: In a basement · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Accessible toilet · Separate restrooms. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

What we do not know
- One post out of twenty-nine mentions the toilet. That writer says it belongs to the building, not the restaurant: out of the door and along to the left, and clean enough. So there is no toilet inside. Whether it is separated by sex, how far the walk is, whether it locks — nobody writes. One other post lists 'toilet' among a block of facilities, but that block is copied from Naver and we have not counted it.
- Two posts disclose that they were paid for — one with a hashtag mid-text, one with the same hashtag first in the string at the bottom. A third thing is visible without being declared: ten of the twenty-nine carry an identical block of five hashtags in identical order, and the two disclosed posts are among those ten. Fourteen of the twenty-nine went up during September 2026 alone. We have counted them all the same, because the bodies genuinely differ — one finds the fish under-salted, one finds the bottom of the rice pot overcooked, one sends back a belt fish that tasted of charcoal — and because every one of them names a dish and a price. One writer says her next visit will be on her own money, without saying what this one was. What decides it is not the hashtags but whether somebody ate.
- The hours do not agree, and Saturday is where they part. Nearly twenty posts give the same weekday shape: 11:00 to 21:00, closed 15:00 to 17:00, shut on Sundays. Three things are unsettled. First, Saturday — several say it closes at 15:00, one says it runs to 21:00 like a weekday, and seven simply write 'Mon–Sat 11:00–21:00' without separating the day at all. Second, the opening time — usually 11:00, but two posts from September 2026 say 10:30 and one from May 2026 says 10:00. Third, the Saturday break — exactly one writer states that there isn't one; the rest attach no day to the break at all. If you are going late on a Saturday afternoon, ring first. Three posts give a last order of 20:30.
- Several writers saw the waiting list; hardly any of them joined it. Five mention the clipboard by the door, and of those only two record it actually in use — one found names already on it at lunchtime, one describes the place packed enough to have a queue. The rest are simply noting that the clipboard exists. The other direction is there too: two writers came at the weekend and found it quiet, one came late in the evening and had the room to herself. The picture that forms is this: weekday lunch is the crush, weekends and late evenings are not. How long the weekday queue actually takes, not one post says. On the food itself, one writer waited about twenty minutes, one was told the clay-pot rice takes five to ten, and three say it came quickly.
- This is a chain. Three writers say so — one calls it a chain outright, one notes that Guro follows an earlier branch in Gasan, one had been going to another branch and was pleased to find this one. So what is written here is about this branch and not the others. Whether the menu, the prices or the self-service bar are the same elsewhere, we have not checked. Only one writer compares branches at all, and she says the porridge here is a charm this branch has of its own — which points the other way, toward branches differing.
- Nobody tested the wi-fi. Two posts carry a facilities line — toilet, wi-fi, takeaway, delivery, free corkage — copied wholesale from the Naver listing, and not one writer says they connected a phone. No one mentions sockets, a television or a smoking room either. What does seem to be on the tables: a tin of toasted laver and flasks of hot water and barley tea, which several writers describe, and disposable aprons, which one does.
