Noodle houseJapanese

Koshi Gildongjeom

코시 길동점 Koshi is the Japanese word for the firm, springy bite of good udon noodles; posts say the shop is named for it and makes its own noodles every day.

Compiled from 22 blog posts read in fullSources →

A house-made udon and tonkatsu shop at 110 Jinhwangdo-ro, Gangdong-gu, between Gildong and Gangdong stations. You order on a table tablet; toriten bukkake udon is 11,000 won and a pork loin cutlet 11,500 won, with 4,000 won turning udon into a tempura set and 3,500 won adding udon to a cutlet. We read 30 posts from 28 August to 12 October 2026; 6 were about other Koshi branches or another restaurant and were set aside. Of the remaining 24, 23 describe an actual visit.

Counted from what bloggers wrote in their posts; we did not confirm it with the restaurant. Where the values differ, it may be a change over time rather than a disagreement, so we show when each one was written.

What sets it apart

  1. Expect a queue at lunch. Six posts mention waiting; the two that timed it both say ten minutes. One arrived around 11:30, sat straight away, and watched the room fill and a line form by noon; another came early and the queue started right behind them. A diner who got a table at 12:15 only because a group was leaving still added that there is normally a wait. One post walked in without waiting on a Sunday between 12:30 and 1:30.
  2. Sixteen posts call the batter crisp, and the tempura plate (shrimp, kabocha, sweet potato, perilla) is repeatedly praised for clean frying. One post found the fried chicken on the hot broth udon soggy, and another advises taking the tempura off cold udon before pouring the tsuyu.
  3. Twelve posts ordered and paid on the tablet at their seat; one notes you can split the bill there. Naver coupon items are not on the tablet: one post showed the coupon to staff, who rang it in at the counter.
  4. Five posts mention the self-service bar with pickled radish, kimchi and a rice cooker for free refills. A solo diner also found children's tableware, aprons, hair ties and a multi-cable phone charger there.
2 more
  1. Six posts found portions generous and one did not: a regular of five-plus visits says the plain bukkake udon is not large but right for one.
  2. Six posts come from repeat visitors, including one who orders only bukkake udon year round, one who finally got the cheese cutlet on a third try after afternoon sell-outs, and an office worker who lunches there regularly.

Parking

9 posts say you can park. None say you cannot.

Posts saying you can park9 of 22 posts

There is a paid car park directly in front, and the shop validates parking. Nine posts used it or found it convenient. Validation is 30 minutes under 20,000 won and 60 minutes above; two posts add two hours above 50,000 won. One saw a notice that only one car per party is covered, and another reminds you to ask staff for the ticket after eating. It is not a free lot.

Getting inside

In a basementyes 0 · no 1 (of 22 posts read)

Only one post speaks to the floor: it is at street level, and the big karaoke-bar sign above makes the Koshi sign easy to miss.

We do not know whether the entrance has a step or takes a wheelchair or stroller. Nobody wrote about it, which is not the same as there being a problem. Two posts came with a young child.

We do not know about the toilet. Two posts copied a listing that says it is outside the shop, but nobody described using it.

No one mentioned: Second floor · Lift to the floor · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Toilet inside · Accessible toilet · Separate restrooms. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

Posts that followed a TV spot

Of the 23 posts we gathered, 1 went up on a single day right after a TV spot and show no sign of a visit. They retell the broadcast, so we left them out of the counts.

We do not discard them. That a TV spot produced a burst of posts is itself something worth knowing about a place, and a star rating will not show it.

What we do not know

  • All 18 posts that list hours agree on 11:00–21:00 with last orders at 20:30. Five split the afternoon break into 15:20–17:00 on weekdays and 15:10–17:00 at weekends; nine give only 15:20, three only 15:10, and one 15:00. Lunch last order likewise splits 14:50 weekdays / 14:40 weekends. These are mostly copied listings, and no post mentions a regular closing day.
  • Prices are from August–October 2026 posts. A set meal usually came to 15,000 won (udon 11,000 + 4,000, or cutlet 11,500 + 3,500); the mixed-cutlet set was 18,000 won. Prices from the Maebong flagship differ and were not used.
  • Nine posts give the phone number as 0507-1420-0510; two give other numbers. Naver booking appears only in copied info blocks; no post describes actually making a reservation.
  • Posts cluster between 15 and 26 September 2026, and five of them reproduce the shop's own copy almost verbatim (anchovy-and-kelp stock, 24-hour aging, fried to order). Only one discloses sponsorship. We treated that copy as the shop's claims, not as evidence.
