Manaeok Songpa Garaksijang Bonjeom

만애옥 송파 가락시장본점 Manaeok (滿愛屋) means 'a house full of love'; one post says the name comes from Park Man-ae, the founder's mother, who began selling semi-dried fish at Wando Central Market in 1978.

Compiled from 24 blog posts read in fullSources →

A restaurant on Songpa-daero 24-gil near Garak Market station that roasts aged, semi-dried fish in an oven and serves it as a set with pot rice, sea bream seaweed soup and side dishes. We read 30 posts dated 20 June to 15 October 2026; 24 describe actually eating here (five were about other businesses and one was written by the restaurant itself). The most-ordered item is the Manae hwadeok set at 28,000 won per person (13 posts); the Badada set, which adds aged sashimi and seafood, is now 43,000 won. Several posts say two people get mackerel, atka mackerel and boneless flounder, and some mention a heated plate in the middle of the table that keeps the fish warm. Most posts are family meals with parents or young children.

Counted from what bloggers wrote in their posts; we did not confirm it with the restaurant. Where the values differ, it may be a change over time rather than a disagreement, so we show when each one was written.

What sets it apart

  1. Side dishes are refilled from a self-serve bar; 18 of the 24 visit posts say so. Seaweed soup and japchae work differently — six posts say the soup is refilled once more on request. Some posts say bossam and crab are not refilled, and one post says the soup came without limit.
  2. There are private rooms; 17 posts mention them. Figures like 'seven rooms' and 'six people minimum' recur, but they are copied from the restaurant's own information. One party of five booked a regular table instead, and some posts note rooms with sofa seating suited to small children.
  3. The side dishes and roasted fish are sold packed to take home; 11 posts mention it. One visitor bought several packs of sides from a corner behind the counter called Manae Chanbang, another took home a lot of mackerel.
  4. Posts keep saying it is not salty: nine say the fish or sides were lightly seasoned, and none say otherwise. Two posts mention feeding the fish to a toddler of around two.
3 more
  1. There is a seated waiting area inside; seven posts mention it. The waitlist runs on CatchTable.
  2. Two posts say they waited: three or four groups ahead at lunch during the Chuseok holiday, and a wait at the 6:30 pm Friday peak in July. One post was seated straight away. No post gives a wait in minutes.
  3. Six posts booked ahead, via Naver booking, CatchTable or phone; one family phoned ahead about a stroller and found a space prepared. Lines like 'rooms bookable on CatchTable only' and a 90-minute room limit on weekends are copied from the restaurant's notice.

Parking

9 posts say you can park. None say you cannot.

Posts saying you can park9 of 24 posts

You can drive; nine posts parked or could park. The '15 spaces behind the building' line is mostly copied, and visitors suggest it fills up: a June visitor found the lot full and used a nearby public street lot, a July weekday-evening visitor found it full, and a September visitor arriving at 10:52 got the last space before valet. Several posts give valet as 3,000 won when full.

Where it is

We could not find this shop’s own listing on Naver Map, so the link searches for its Korean name around this spot instead.

Getting inside

Step-free access1 of 24 posts

No post describes which floor it is on from experience; '1st floor' appears only in the address, and nobody mentions stairs.

One post brought a stroller in; after phoning ahead, staff removed an inner chair so the stroller and baby fit at the table. Nobody says whether the entrance has a step.

Nobody wrote about the toilets — whether inside or separated by gender. That means unknown, not absent.

No one mentioned: Second floor · In a basement · Lift to the floor · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Toilet inside · Accessible toilet · Separate restrooms. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

Posts that followed a TV spot

Of the 25 posts we gathered, 1 went up on a single day right after a TV spot and show no sign of a visit. They retell the broadcast, so we left them out of the counts.

We do not discard them. That a TV spot produced a burst of posts is itself something worth knowing about a place, and a star rating will not show it.

What we do not know

  • 'Five minutes from exit 6 of Garak Market station' and '190 m' are almost always copied directions. One post says in its own words that it is close to the station; a bus stop mention is likewise copied. No one timed the walk.
  • Seventeen posts give the same opening hours, 10:30-22:00 daily, mostly copied. Last order is 20:50 in four posts and 21:00 in one. A June 2026 post lists a 15:00-17:00 break; posts from July on say there is no break. One post says a break may apply on holidays.
  • Prices have changed: a June 2026 post lists the grill-and-seafood set at 38,000 won, Sep-Oct posts list the same set (now called Badada) at 43,000. The croaker set is 54,000 per person in July and 88,000 in an October list with no head count, so we cannot tell if it rose. A typical meal is the 28,000-won hwadeok set; one post found it on the pricey side, two called it good value.
  • Eight posts give the same phone number, 0507-1417-3478; booking is said to work via Naver, CatchTable or phone.
  • Of the 24 visit posts, three disclose sponsorship, four say they paid (with receipts), and the rest say nothing. Two October posts share nearly identical sentences and menu lists and look like one commissioned script. Claims such as 'since 1978 in Wando', 'a former Shilla Hotel chef', 'a 450°C volcanic-stone oven' and '72-hour aging' are the restaurant's own lines, repeated by bloggers; we did not count them.
