MEIRIM YANGJANG

미림양장 압구정점 Mirim Yangjang Apgujeong Yangjang means Western-style dressmaking; by the house's own account the name, with 美 ('beautiful') for mi, was kept from a dress shop whose space the first Busan branch took over.

A Peking duck restaurant in a basement off the Apgujeong Rodeo strip, at 40 Eonju-ro 168-gil in Gangnam — the Apgujeong branch of Mirim Yangjang, a chain that began in Busan. The most common order is a half duck (39,000 won) plus one more dish for two; the two-person set is 62,000 won, and recorded bills for two were 57,000 and 62,000 won. You order by QR code at the table (eleven posts), and writing a Naver review gets you a half portion of egg noodles (eleven posts). We read 30 posts dated 9 August to 23 October 2026; two about the Seocho branch were set aside, leaving 26 first-hand visits.

Counted from what bloggers wrote in their posts; we did not confirm it with the restaurant. Where the values differ, it may be a change over time rather than a disagreement, so we show when each one was written.

What sets it apart

  1. Peanuts roasted with sugar and salt arrive when you sit down — ten posts mention them, some alongside a tangy bean-sprout pickle. One post says they got a peanut refill.
  2. There is a private room, noted in eight posts — just right of the entrance, mirror-like when the door is shut, with a round Chinese banquet table inside. Capacity (6–10, or 7+ per the booking page) and a 2.5-hour limit when the next slot is booked are second-hand. Two posts say rooms must be booked by phone.
  3. The kitchen is open, with ducks hanging and being carved in view — eight posts. The claim of 'at least 30 hours from drying to roasting' is the house's own line, repeated by bloggers.
  4. No post called it expensive: six called it good value, and one said portions felt a little small for the price without settling on it. Six said portions were generous; one said dishes come small.

Getting inside

In a basement14 of 26 posts
Toilet inside1 of 26 posts

You reach it by stairs: fourteen posts describe following a red carpet down a staircase to the basement, and one warns the stairs are quite steep. Posts mention an entrance wall covered in mahjong tiles and a duck-foot door handle.

We don't know whether a wheelchair or stroller can get in, or whether there is a lift — not that there isn't one, but no one wrote about it. All we have is that you go down stairs.

One post says the restroom is inside and clean, another that it is nicely done. Separate men's and women's rooms appear only in a copied amenities list.

No one mentioned: Second floor · Lift to the floor · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Accessible toilet · Separate restrooms. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

Posts that followed a TV spot

Of the 28 posts we gathered, 2 went up on a single day right after a TV spot and show no sign of a visit. They retell the broadcast, so we left them out of the counts.

We do not discard them. That a TV spot produced a burst of posts is itself something worth knowing about a place, and a star rating will not show it.

What we do not know

  • No one wrote about queuing; eight booked ahead via Catchtable or Naver. One arrived at Sunday's noon opening as the first guest and found over half the tables reserved, so we don't know what the wait is without a booking.
  • The lunchtime valet stand moved. Posts up to 31 August 2026 put it at Cooking Library (46 Apgujeong-ro 46-gil), closed Monday mornings; posts from 4 September put it at Mukjeon (22 Eonju-ro 168-gil). Evening valet (after 5 p.m.) is in front of the restaurant in both periods.
  • Opinions on size split: three posts called it roomy, two called it small or smaller than other branches. Several describe a long room with tables separated by partitions or high-backed seating.
  • One post differs on the frying: four found the coatings (eggplant, youlinji, ribs) crisp, while one said the eggplant fritters were not the crisp kind, though the sauce was good.
  • Opening hours: 21 posts agree on daily noon to 2 a.m., last order 1 a.m., no break and no closing day — mostly copied from the listing, with one post reading it off the door.
  • Most prices come from one or two posts each. Eggplant fritters were 16,000 won in an August 2026 post and 15,000 in an October one. No one recorded the whole-duck price.
  • More than ten posts give the phone number as 0507-1331-8986. Tables are booked through Naver or Catchtable; two posts say rooms must be booked by phone.
  • Much of this is promotional. One post disclosed a sponsored meal voucher and four said they paid; the other 21 say nothing. Two posts share nearly the same order and wording, and several follow the same info-block, red-carpet-stairs, menu template.
