Ceramic House

옹기집 Onggijip Onggi is Korean glazed earthenware and jip means house — the pork is finished on a griddle made of onggi.

Compiled from 24 blog posts read in fullSources →

A ground-floor pork barbecue house at the mouth of an alley off Nonhyeon-ro 152-gil, a 7–10 minute walk from Apgujeong Station exit 3. Korean pork is seared in the kitchen first, then staff finish it on an onggi earthenware griddle at your table. Most visitors ordered Set A for two to three (500g of neck, belly and gabrisal), 57,000 won through September 2026 and 60,000 won from October. Many finished with kimchi fried rice topped with roe and cheese, or the soybean stew. It opens at 4 pm for dinner only and closes on Sundays. We read 30 posts dated 3 November 2024 to 27 October 2026: 24 are visits, 4 are the restaurant's own promotional posts, and 2 were about other restaurants and set aside.

Counted from what bloggers wrote in their posts; we did not confirm it with the restaurant. Where the values differ, it may be a change over time rather than a disagreement, so we show when each one was written.

What sets it apart

  1. Staff do the grilling. Of 24 visits, 19 say a server or the owner cooked the meat at the table from start to finish; several add that they also grill and cut the kimchi, mushrooms and onions, and fry the closing rice on the griddle. One July 2025 post found the young server clumsy and took over the tongs for the second round.
  2. The meat arrives already seared in the kitchen — 21 posts say so. Pre-select a set when booking on Naver and the table is laid when you arrive, one post says; another waited about 15 minutes after sitting down. A July 2025 post advises ordering the next round early, because the searing takes time.
  3. Nine posts mention generous spacing between tables or a roomy dining room; one says you cannot hear the next table at all. Many posts also note there are no extraction hoods over the tables, but that line matches the restaurant's own promotional copy, so we did not count it.
  4. Seven posts describe a fully glazed folding-door front that is thrown open in good weather, giving an open-air feel.

  1. Five posts were written on a return visit. One from October 2026 came back for the spring-onion salad; others name the kimchi and house ssamjang.

Getting inside

Toilet inside1 of 24 posts

The address says ground floor, but no post describes steps up or down on the way in.

No post mentions an entrance step or getting in with a wheelchair or stroller. That means nobody wrote about it, not that there is no barrier.

One post says the toilet is inside; nobody says whether it is separated by gender.

No one mentioned: Second floor · In a basement · Lift to the floor · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Accessible toilet · Separate restrooms. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

Posts that followed a TV spot

Of the 28 posts we gathered, 4 went up on a single day right after a TV spot and show no sign of a visit. They retell the broadcast, so we left them out of the counts.

We do not discard them. That a TV spot produced a burst of posts is itself something worth knowing about a place, and a star rating will not show it.

What we do not know

  • Prices rose in autumn 2026. Posts through September list Set A at 57,000 won, Set T at 88,000 and the 450g belly set at 51,000; every post from 13 October lists 60,000, 92,000 and 54,000 (two posts on 9 October split between old and new). The fried rice went from 5,000 to 6,000 won and the soybean stew from 7,000 to 8,000. At current prices, two people having Set A plus fried rice spend about 66,000 won.
  • Nearly every post gives 4–11 pm with Sundays off, but all of them copied it from listings. Last orders split: 10:30 pm in eight posts, 9:30 pm in three, 10 pm in one. Two October 2026 posts and the restaurant's own posts say Saturdays now close at 10 pm. The phone number is 0507-1423-9092; bookings go through Naver Reservation or Catch Table.
  • No post describes queuing. One couple booked and walked straight in; others found the room full at 6 pm on a weekday or nearly full on a Friday evening. Three posts mention a small waiting area at the entrance.
  • Policy on children is unclear. A November 2024 visitor regretted that it was a no-kids zone, while the restaurant's own post that month called it a 'care kids zone'. The only visit with a child was a mother with her daughter, age not given.
  • The move here from Sinnonhyeon is known only from the owner and the house's own posts, with dates ranging from December 2022 to 2023. Every post we read is about the current address.
  • Many posts from August to October 2026 repeat the restaurant blog's talking points — founded in Gangneung in 1997 and now second-generation, 100% Korean Taebaek highland kimchi, grade 1+ pork with supplier labels, a 30-seat group table and buy-outs from 35. We treat these as the restaurant's own claims and did not count them. One post disclosed sponsorship.
