MYTH JOKBAL
미쓰족발 Misseu Jokbal Jokbal is braised pig's trotters; 'Misseu' is the Korean spelling of 'Miss', and the wall lettering spells it MYTH JOKBAL, echoing the house slogan 'the living myth of jokbal'.

Myth Jokbal's Myeongdong branch is a ground-floor trotters house on Myeongdong 3-gil, a few minutes' walk from exits 5 and 6 of Euljiro 1-ga station. All fifteen visit posts ordered the hwangje jokbal (58,000 won): trotters in the centre of a round platter ringed by about ten Korean side dishes, shared by two to four people. Every trotters order comes with a pot of kimchi noodle broth on a burner, plus ssamjang, salted shrimp and a mala dipping sauce. We read 30 posts dated 11 Sep to 6 Oct 2026; 15 describe a meal there. Eleven are the owner's own management diary, two are promotional or analysis pieces, one we could not trust as a real visit, and one was a café list from another area.

Counted from what bloggers wrote in their posts; we did not confirm it with the restaurant. Where the values differ, it may be a change over time rather than a disagreement, so we show when each one was written.
What sets it apart
- Eight posts say many of the diners were foreign; three put a number on it — 'more than half Chinese', '80 percent foreign', 'over 70 percent'. Two posts tie the mala sauce to Chinese visitors, two note the table tablet switches language, and one writer was addressed in Chinese by staff who took her for a tourist.
- Seven posts say the portion is large: two people could not finish one platter, and four women left a little over. Six posts got refills of sides — napa cabbage twice, kimchi and dried radish three times, radish kimchi, lettuce.
- Seven posts ordered on a tablet at the table; one says you pay at the counter on the way out. Eight posts call the room spacious; a 40-seat group capacity appears only in an info block and one post.
- Ten posts walked from Euljiro 1-ga station, exit 5 or 6, in two to five minutes; it is closer to that station than to Myeongdong station.
2 more
- No post reports waiting. One walked in without a booking on a late weekday evening and was seated at once; one booked through Naver. Others found the room filling by noon after an 11:00 weekday opening, one other table before 5:30 pm and a crowd by 6, and nearly full on a Friday evening. A line saying it is popular enough to have a queue is hearsay and not counted.
- Ten posts give the same 58,000 won for the platter. One writer expected tourist-district pricing and changed her mind when it arrived. A family of four paid 108,000 won for a large garlic trotters plus the platter.

Parking

Three posts say in their own words there is no parking, and five copy 'no parking' from an info block. Two suggest the Lotte Department Store across the street (two free hours via its app), one a lot at Center Place by Euljiro 1-ga station (5,000 won a day prepaid). The one family that drove parked at the father's former office building.

Where it is

We could not find this shop’s own listing on Naver Map, so the link searches for its Korean name around this spot instead.

Getting inside
| Second floor | 1 of 15 posts |
|---|---|
| In a basement | yes 0 · no 3 (of 15 posts read) |
Three posts note from experience that it is on the ground floor. One says the first and second floors are the same restaurant, the upper one an open-front 'street-tent' style room, but nobody ate upstairs.
Posts disagree about the upper floors: one diner says floor two is the same restaurant, the owner writes of staffing floors one to three, and a promo post says you can also eat at the gamjatang place on floor two and the pork-belly place on floor three. No diner settles it.
No post says whether there is a step at the entrance or whether a wheelchair or stroller gets in. One family went with a child but says nothing about a stroller. This means unreported, not absent.
No diner says where the toilet is or whether it is split by sex.
No one mentioned: Lift to the floor · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Toilet inside · Accessible toilet · Separate restrooms. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

Posts that followed a TV spot
Of the 29 posts we gathered, 14 went up on a single day right after a TV spot and show no sign of a visit. They retell the broadcast, so we left them out of the counts.

| 2026-10-01 | 4 posts in one day |

We do not discard them. That a TV spot produced a burst of posts is itself something worth knowing about a place, and a star rating will not show it.

What we do not know
- The kimchi broth splits opinion: three posts call it quite spicy, one found it too mild and stirred in the mala sauce.
- Fourteen posts agree on 11:00 to 03:00 — twelve say daily, nine give a 02:00 last order — but most copy an info block or the shop's own notice. Three actually walked in at the 11:00 opening (a weekday, a Saturday, one unstated); none went in the small hours.
- Lunch-set prices disagree, so we cannot give a lunch price: three sets at 11,000-13,000 won on 11 Sep 2026, a jokbal set at 12,500 and pork set at 11,500 on 3 Oct, a pork set at 11,000 in a 1 Oct promo. Nobody ate one, so we cannot tell renaming from a price change.
- The posts bunch into four weeks. In the same period the owner published eleven management-diary entries naming hwangje jokbal conversions as a target, and the visit posts repeat one order: info block, exterior, interior, platter, kimchi noodles, mala sauce. One discloses sponsorship. We did not count the owner's or promotional posts, nor one post about boiled pork that lacks the noodles and mala sauce every other visit mentions. One diner booked through Naver; more than ten posts give the same phone number, 02-3789-8799.
