Cheonsa Gopchang Myeongdong-jeom

천사곱창 명동점 Cheonsa means angel and gopchang is grilled beef small intestine, so the name reads 'Angel Gopchang'; this is the Myeongdong branch.

Compiled from 20 blog posts read in fullSources →

A Korean-beef gopchang (grilled intestine) house on Myeongdong 7-gil, ground floor of the Art Nouveau Centum building, between Euljiro 1-ga and Myeongdong stations. Fifteen posts ordered the 69,000-won set for two: a special platter of Hanu gopchang plus a beef tartare taster, spicy octopus, stone-plate Chapagetti and cheese fried rice. The meat comes part-cooked from the kitchen, staff finish it at your table, and at the end they divide the griddle into three for the rice, octopus and noodles and torch the cheese. There are outdoor tables on the street and seating inside on two floors. We read 20 posts dated 29 August to 4 October 2026, all from people who ate there.

Counted from what bloggers wrote in their posts; we did not confirm it with the restaurant. Where the values differ, it may be a change over time rather than a disagreement, so we show when each one was written.

What sets it apart

  1. Tables spill onto the street in front; 18 of 20 posts mention the outdoor seating. Late-August posts mention air conditioning (three), two of them noting a large portable unit blowing on the outdoor tables. One weekday-evening visitor found the outdoor tables already full.
  2. The platter is pre-grilled in the kitchen — 14 posts say so, putting it at 80–90% done. A wall chart says rice cake, heart, brisket and tripe can be eaten straight away while the intestines need another four to five minutes. One writer said it meant less smell in their clothes.
  3. Staff do the cooking at the table — 15 posts say so. They plate what is done, grill the green-onion kimchi and chive salad on the griddle, then fry the rice, set up a three-way divider for the octopus and noodles, and torch the cheese, which the posts call the fire show.
  4. When the place is full there is a time limit: five posts give two hours indoors and 90 minutes outside.
3 more
  1. Fourteen posts give walking directions. Most say two to five minutes from Euljiro 1-ga Station exit 5; some name exit 6. From Myeongdong Station it is six to nine minutes.
  2. No one called it expensive; 11 posts described the set as good value. One couple paid 78,000 won for the set plus a soda and a soju.
  3. Fourteen posts found the set's octopus and chili-flaked Chapagetti spicy. One spice-shy writer found it very hot and told parents to check first; another suggested asking for the noodles without chili for children.

Parking

6 posts say you can park. None say you cannot.

Posts saying you can park6 of 20 posts

Six posts say in their own words that the building's basement car park gives two hours free; two writers came by car. The overtime rate (10,000 won an hour, 40,000 max) comes from copied info boxes.

We could not find this shop’s own listing on Naver Map, so the link searches for its Korean name around this spot instead.

From the station

Fourteen posts give walking directions. Most say two to five minutes from Euljiro 1-ga Station exit 5; some name exit 6. From Myeongdong Station it is six to nine minutes.

Getting inside

Second floor10 of 20 posts
In a basementyes 0 · no 7 (of 20 posts read)
Toilet insideyes 0 · no 2 (of 20 posts read)

Inside there are two floors; ten posts mention the upstairs. The ground-floor room has about three tables, while upstairs has many and suits groups.

No one said whether there is a step at the entrance or whether a wheelchair or stroller gets in — we don't know. One post mentions stairs up to the second floor; none mentions a lift.

The toilets are not inside the restaurant. Two posts say so — one calls it the building's shared toilet, the other says you go in through the shop next door, which can be confusing. The 'separate men's and women's toilets' line appears only in copied info boxes.

No one mentioned: Lift to the floor · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Accessible toilet · Separate restrooms. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

What we do not know

  • All 20 posts appeared within about five weeks and follow nearly the same order and wording. None discloses sponsorship, but they read like one promotional batch, so weigh the praise accordingly.
  • No one reported waiting. One writer noted in passing that on fine weekday evenings it fills up enough to have a queue, so we don't know how long waits run. One post recommends booking for an outdoor table.
  • Seventeen posts give the same hours, 11:00–23:00 daily, but all in copied info boxes. A 22:30 last order appears in one post and 'no closing day' in two.
  • Seven posts give the phone number as 010-8770-7655; one gives 02-318-7295. Bookings are by phone.
  • One à la carte price disagrees: three posts list the large intestine at 21,000 won a portion and two at 22,000, with no pattern by date, so we don't treat it as a price change.
  • One post mentions a banner out front about a YouTuber's eating challenge; that is the shop's own promotion, so we did not count it.
