Torikizoku Hongdae Ipgu-yeok-jeom

토리키조쿠 홍대입구역점 Torikizoku (鳥貴族) means 'bird aristocrat' — it is a Japanese yakitori chain that started in Osaka, and this is its branch by Hongik University Station.

Compiled from 18 blog posts read in fullSources →

A Japanese yakitori chain branch on the second and third floors of a building on Eoulmadang-ro, near Hongik University Station. Everything on the menu, from skewers and pot rice to draft beer and highballs, costs 4,900 won, and you order from your seat. We read 24 posts dated September 2025 to October 2026. Five were about other branches (Yeonnam, the Hongdae flagship, Euljiro 3-ga) or stores in Japan, so we set them aside, which leaves 18 posts from people who actually went here. Many came for a second round of a few skewers and a drink. One pair paid 73,500 won and one group of three paid 88,000.

Rows without a count: 5 of 8 posts.

Counted from what bloggers wrote in their posts; we did not confirm it with the restaurant. Where the values differ, it may be a change over time rather than a disagreement, so we show when each one was written.

What sets it apart

  1. Eight of the nine posts that discussed price called it easy on the wallet, and none called it expensive. The reason is the flat 4,900 won for everything, which every post mentions; one writer got two orders of fries for 9,800 won. Skewers come two to a plate, though, and ordering widely adds up: one pair spent 73,500 won and one group of three spent 88,000.
  2. Seven posts mention drinking draft beer. The taps are Suntory Premium Malt's and Hanmac, and a large MEGA glass of Hanmac is the same 4,900 won. One writer praised the soft, creamy head; another missed having Asahi or Sapporo.
  3. More posts call it cramped than roomy. Three said so: seats packed tightly together, narrow gaps between tables that feel hectic when full, a bit smaller than the flagship. One post found the third floor roomier than expected, and also said two people were not allowed to take a four-person window table.
  4. Waits vary. Two posts waited: one sat on chairs by the entrance and got in quickly, another toured all three Hongdae branches on a weekend and found this one turned tables fastest. Two got seats right away, one on a weekday evening and one after giving up fourth place in line at the Yeonnam branch. Several posts note you can join the queue remotely through CatchTable. One post says a time limit applies once people are waiting.
2 more
  1. Two posts complained about slow food: one waited about 20 minutes when it was busy, and another said it was so slow that a staff member came over to ask what hadn't arrived. Separately, the pot rice takes 15 to 30 minutes, and several writers advise ordering it first.
  2. Ten posts say who they came with: seven with friends and three with a partner. None of the posts about this branch describe coming alone.

Getting inside

Second floor2 of 18 posts
In a basementyes 0 · no 2 (of 18 posts read)

The restaurant takes up the second and third floors. At street level there is only a small stairway entrance, which one writer said is easy to miss. Two posts describe using both floors: one was sent up to the third floor because the second was full, and another found both floors packed. Two posts say they walked up the stairs.

We don't know whether a wheelchair or stroller can get in. Two posts describe climbing stairs from the ground-floor entrance, but none says whether there is a lift. That doesn't mean there isn't one, only that nobody wrote about it.

We don't know whether the toilet is inside or separated by gender. None of the posts about this branch mention it; the one post that described separate toilets was about the Hongdae flagship, so we left it out.

No one mentioned: Lift to the floor · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Toilet inside · Accessible toilet · Separate restrooms. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

Posts that followed a TV spot

Of the 19 posts we gathered, 1 went up on a single day right after a TV spot and show no sign of a visit. They retell the broadcast, so we left them out of the counts.

We do not discard them. That a TV spot produced a burst of posts is itself something worth knowing about a place, and a star rating will not show it.

What we do not know

  • Two things seem to have changed. A September 2025 post gave Friday and Saturday closing as 1 a.m., while four posts from April 2026 on say midnight (last order 11:30 p.m.); both are copied listings, so we can't be sure the hours actually shrank. Fried chicken gizzards first appear in an April 2026 post as a dish found only at this branch, and a July post says it was new since the writer's last visit. No post suggests the restaurant has moved.
  • Seven posts list opening hours, all copied from listings. Four 2026 posts agree: Monday to Thursday 5–11 p.m., Friday 5 p.m.–midnight, Saturday 4 p.m.–midnight, Sunday 4–11 p.m. One post gives different hours (weekdays 5 p.m.–midnight, weekends 4–11 p.m.). No post mentions a regular day off.
  • Phone reservations are mentioned only once, in a line copied from a listing, so we can't confirm them. Three posts give the number as 02-2138-3983 and one as 0507-1403-0932.
