Sujeong Okdol Saeng Sogeumgui
수정옥돌생소금구이 Sujeong okdol means crystal jade-stone and saeng sogeumgui is fresh salt-grilled pork — the house grills unmarinated pork on a tray of hot jade pebbles set over charcoal.

A pork grill house on Donggyo-ro 23-gil near exit 1 of Hongik University station, where meat is cooked on a bed of smooth jade pebbles over charcoal. Neck, belly, jowl and skirt are 14,000 won per 180 g, and 540 g sets run 41,000–45,000 won. Meat usually arrives part-grilled and staff finish and cut it at the table; a small soybean stew comes free. The restaurant ran for decades on Eoulmadang-ro by the Hongdae 'walking street' and moved here sometime between January and March 2026; the old shop had round tables packed close together and charged 13,000 won for 200 g. We read 30 posts from January 2025 to October 2026: 25 describe a meal (23 at the new address, 2 at the old one), 4 only list or link the place, and 1 was about another restaurant.

The values differ, but the periods they were written in do not overlap. This looks like a change over time rather than a disagreement, and the top row is the most recently reported. We did not confirm it with the restaurant.
What sets it apart
- Staff grill the meat for you: eighteen posts say so, and ten say it arrives part-grilled. One describes water poured at the edge of the stones to steam it; another says cooked pieces wait on a small rack and get rewarmed. Two posts, though, started grilling themselves because staff were busy, and one was told to eat meat that was still underdone.
- The new room is large: eleven posts mention a wide hall or generous spacing, and four describe window seats with the glass walls opened. Two saw the booking board listing groups of 30 and 70. A post from the old shop said tables were packed close together — that was before the move.
- Nine posts found the prices easy. One couple paid 72,000 won for a set, extra jowl, cold noodles and drinks. Six mention a receipt-review promotion that earns a soft drink or steamed egg.

Parking
4 posts say you can park. None say you cannot.

Parking exists but is tight. Four posts parked at the door and two say there are only two reserved spots; one was asked to move after taking the wrong space and recommends the public lot nearby at 250 won per 5 minutes. The line about two more spots after 7 p.m. plus the building lot is copied word for word across many posts.

Where it is

We could not find this shop’s own listing on Naver Map, so the link searches for its Korean name around this spot instead.

6 posts say it is walkable from the station.
Getting inside
| Step at the entrance | 1 of 25 posts |
|---|---|
| Step-free access | yes 0 · no 1 (of 25 posts read) |
| Toilet inside | yes 1 · no 1 (of 25 posts read) |
| Separate restrooms | yes 0 · no 1 (of 25 posts read) |
No post describes the floor from experience; only the address says ground floor.
One post says there are three steps at the entrance, so a wheelchair cannot roll straight in; the writer used a portable ramp and found the aisles inside wide. No other post describes the entrance.
Accounts of the toilet differ: one post says it is indoors, one says you take a key card out the back door to the building's toilet, and one says it is a building toilet connected to the shop and shared by men and women. The 'separate toilets' line is copied from the map listing, so we did not count it.
No one mentioned: Second floor · In a basement · Lift to the floor · Ramp at the door · Accessible toilet. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

Posts that followed a TV spot
Of the 29 posts we gathered, 4 went up on a single day right after a TV spot and show no sign of a visit. They retell the broadcast, so we left them out of the counts.
We do not discard them. That a TV spot produced a burst of posts is itself something worth knowing about a place, and a star rating will not show it.

What we do not know
- This is a relocated restaurant. Posts up to January 2026 describe Eoulmadang-ro 146-1 (Mon–Thu 14:00–02:00, Fri–Sun 12:30–02:00, 13,000 won per 200 g); posts from March describe Donggyo-ro 23-gil 21. The 'same method as 30 years ago' line is the restaurant's own claim. One post called the new shop a second branch while all others call it a move; we could not settle it.
- Opening hours vary between posts. March–June 2026 posts say daily 12:00–24:00 with last order at 23:40; most posts from September say 11:00 on weekdays and 12:00 at weekends, closing at midnight. One September post says 12:00, another says 23:00 at weekends. Most are copied from map listings, so check before you go.
- Three posts walked straight in (two on weekday evenings, one on a Wednesday). One guessed there may be waits at peak times. One post says that on a night with a 70-person booking the restaurant stopped seating walk-ins, and advises calling ahead in the evening. One mentions waiting chairs on the terrace.
- Three posts found the staff friendly. Two posts from May–June 2026 had orders misunderstood or rushed by foreign staff, and one in August found service slow with orders forgotten.
- Seven posts give the phone number 0507-1300-6292, and some advise calling about group bookings or parking. The old shop's number was 02-323-6292.
