Saengmacha's Hongdae branch is a chain bar near exits 7 and 8 of Hongik University Station, dressed up like a Japanese izakaya and selling draft beer at 1,900 won for 300cc and 3,900 won for 500cc. Most snacks run around 10,000 won, led by tebanaka fried wings (about 900 won a piece, 13,500 won for 15), and you order by scanning a QR code at the table. It opens at 2 p.m., and posts split between afternoon drinking and a second round after dinner elsewhere. What we do not know
- Waiting varies. Of seven posts that mentioned seating, four walked straight in despite a crowd, while two saw a line form behind them: one at 7 p.m. on a weekday with two seats left, one on the Friday Jensen Huang visited Hongdae. No post timed a wait.
- It is not quiet: three posts called it loud and lively. One said the room is large with a high ceiling, one praised the air-conditioning, one the open windows onto the street. Two mentioned buskers right outside, but that is street performance, not the bar's.
- One post found a chicken smell in the wings and left most of them; the writer saw no origin label and looked it up as Thai chicken, which we treat as hearsay. Four other posts called the wings crisp.
- Three posts walked from Hongik University Station, one giving exits 7 or 8 and about five minutes. Nobody wrote about arriving by bus.
- Seven posts list opening hours as 2 p.m. to 5 a.m. daily, five with last orders at 4:30 a.m., though six of them copied the listing. A March 2025 copy showed 3 p.m. weekday and 1 p.m. weekend openings, so earlier hours may have differed. No post mentioned a closing day.
