PHO MOI

포머이 연남본점 Pomeoi Yeonnam Bonjeom Pho moi is Vietnamese for 'new pho' — several posts say the name means a new kind of rice-noodle soup.

Compiled from 28 blog posts read in fullSources →

A Vietnamese pho shop on the second floor of 195 Donggyo-ro, near Exit 2 of Hongik University Station. It runs self-service: you order on a kiosk or tablet at the table, collect your food when your number is called, and return the tray afterwards. The most-ordered dishes are the spicy pork-bone pho (11,000 won), two rice-paper rolls (9,000 won) and mixed fried spring rolls (8,000 won); twenty-one posts ordered exactly that trio, or swapped the pork-bone pho for clam pho. We read 30 posts dated 2 August to 19 October 2026. Twenty-eight describe actually eating there; one only links to this shop from a review of another restaurant, and one is a list of ten pho places.

Counted from what bloggers wrote in their posts; we did not confirm it with the restaurant. Where the values differ, it may be a change over time rather than a disagreement, so we show when each one was written.

What sets it apart

  1. You order from your seat: fifteen posts say they used a kiosk, tablet or pad at the table. Your table number is called when the food is ready and you fetch it yourself; one post adds that alcohol has to be ordered at the kitchen counter.
  2. Fourteen posts say the portions are large. Eight counted three big pork bones in the spicy pork-bone pho and three counted two. One writer says she was taken aback for about ten seconds when the bowl arrived; another found the three-dish set too much for two people.
  3. Thirteen posts found the pork-bone pho spicy, one found it mild, and two stopped short of saying either. Three compared the heat to Shin Ramyun, and two say you can choose the spice level; the one who found it mild suggested going a level up.
  4. Twenty-one posts say the spring-roll wrappers are crisp. One says they are so crisp the shell keeps shattering off as you bite. Another thought the rolls were pre-made rather than made in-house.
1 more
  1. Ten posts say you can help yourself to as much bean sprouts, coriander, pickled radish and onion as you like from the self-serve bar. Two mention a sign warning that too many sprouts will dilute the broth, and one saw a 3,000-won charge for leaving coriander uneaten.

The shop is on the second floor. Twelve posts describe going up; three took the lift and one climbed the stairs on the left of the building. One writer got slightly lost at first because it is not at street level.

One post says there is a lift so strollers and wheelchairs can get in, but no one describes actually arriving with either. Nobody mentions whether there is a step at the entrance — we simply don't know.

Three posts say the toilet is inside the restaurant, and two of them say it is separated by gender; one adds that this made eating with children easy.

No one mentioned: Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Accessible toilet. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

Posts that followed a TV spot

Of the 29 posts we gathered, 1 went up on a single day right after a TV spot and show no sign of a visit. They retell the broadcast, so we left them out of the counts.

We do not discard them. That a TV spot produced a burst of posts is itself something worth knowing about a place, and a star rating will not show it.

What we do not know

  • No post describes waiting. Two say they walked straight in — an office worker who goes at 1 p.m., and one who noted fast turnover. Three arrived just after the 11 a.m. opening and watched the room fill by about 11:40; the weekday-lunch queues are only reported second-hand. One post mentions a waitlist tablet at the door.
  • Nineteen posts give the same opening hours — 11:00 to 21:00, last order 20:30, closed the first and third Tuesday of each month, no afternoon break — though most copied them from the shop's listing.
  • Prices mostly agree, except for the mixed spring rolls: eight posts say 8,000 won, two say 9,000 and one 7,500, all from August 2026. Only one post totals a meal — 29,000 won for the three-dish set.
  • The phone number 0507-1352-4522 appears only in copied info blocks; no post mentions booking.
  • Twenty-one of the posts order the same three dishes and repeat the shop's own lines about its Vietnamese founder and 100% fresh noodles. Two disclose being invited, one says the writer paid, and the rest say nothing. Clam pho is absent from August menu lists and appears as a new dish in October posts.
