Kkokkosuni
꼬꼬순이 Kkokko is the Korean sound of a clucking hen, and -suni is an old-fashioned girl's-name ending — roughly 'little hen'.

An old chicken-and-beer hall a short walk from Hongik University Station exit 3, toward the Donggyo-dong junction. The ground floor is the fryer and takeout counter; the dining room is up the stairs on the second floor. You order thin-crusted, old-style fried chicken by the piece (3, 4 or 6) and eat it with whelk noodles or tteokbokki and draught beer. Six pieces of fried chicken were ₩22,000 in posts from March to December 2025; six pieces half-and-half were ₩23,000 from December 2025 to July 2026. We read 30 posts from November 2024 to September 2026; 3 were about other places, and 23 were written by people who went.

Counted from what bloggers wrote in their posts; we did not confirm it with the restaurant. Where the values differ, it may be a change over time rather than a disagreement, so we show when each one was written.
What sets it apart
- The popcorn is self-serve. Nine posts describe scooping as much as they liked from a blue bin in the middle of the room — one went back three times. Water is self-serve too, one post notes.
- Twelve posts call the chicken crisp, usually adding that the coating is very thin — so thin one writer wondered whether it was battered at all. One post says a six-piece order is about a bird and a half; six posts say the portions are large.
- Five posts ordered from a tablet or kiosk at the table; one says you pay on the way out.
- Eleven posts are return visits — a mother bringing her daughter back after 18 years, a man who used to order here before delivery apps existed, a friend whose parents had dated here.

Where it is

We could not find this shop’s own listing on Naver Map, so the link searches for its Korean name around this spot instead.

Getting inside
| Second floor | 8 of 23 posts |
|---|---|
| Separate restrooms | 2 of 23 posts |
Eight posts say you climb a staircase to the second-floor dining room; the ground-floor fryer is a takeout counter, not seating, one warns. One post says the men's toilet is on the stair landing and the women's is inside the hall.
No post mentions a basement; they only describe a second-floor hall over a ground-floor takeout counter.
We don't know about wheelchair or stroller access. Several posts climb stairs to the second-floor hall, but none mention a lift or the entrance step — that means nobody wrote about it, not that there isn't one.
Only two posts describe the toilets: both say they're separated by gender, and one says the men's is outside the hall by the stairs. Nobody mentions an accessible toilet. The 'separate toilets' line pasted into many posts is copied listing data, so we didn't count it.
No one mentioned: In a basement · Lift to the floor · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Toilet inside · Accessible toilet. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

Posts that followed a TV spot
Of the 27 posts we gathered, 4 went up on a single day right after a TV spot and show no sign of a visit. They retell the broadcast, so we left them out of the counts.
We do not discard them. That a TV spot produced a burst of posts is itself something worth knowing about a place, and a star rating will not show it.

What we do not know
- Opinions on space split five to two: five posts found it roomy with wide gaps between tables (4-, 6- and 8-seat tables), two found the tables cramped. Of three posts that sat by the window, one says the glass let in a winter chill.
- We know little about waiting. One post got a table straight away on a weekday evening; another found it packed on a Tuesday night but didn't say they waited. One post notes the cheese tteokbokki takes about 20 minutes to cook.
- Opening hours appear in 13 posts, all giving 5 p.m. to 1 a.m., last order at midnight, closed Sundays — but all except one are pasted listing blocks. One post alone gives the days as Wednesday to Saturday.
- We only know the prices people wrote down: four posts give ₩22,000 for six pieces of fried chicken, three give ₩23,000 for six half-and-half. One post grumbles that fried chicken now costs over ₩20,000; another calls ₩22,000 reasonable. Extra cabbage salad is ₩500, which an April 2025 post implies used to be free. No post totals a whole meal.
- Nine posts give the same phone number, 0507-1377-4427, but all copied it; nobody wrote about phoning to book.
