Hwoguonara Hongdae-jeom
훠궈나라 홍대점 Hwoguo is the Korean rendering of the Chinese huoguo (hot pot) and nara means country or land, so the name reads 'Hot Pot Land'.

An all-you-can-eat hot pot place on the ground floor of 133 Eoulmadang-ro, near exit 8 of Hongik University Station. You choose two broths served half-and-half, fetch meat, vegetables and sauces from a self-serve bar, and get 90 minutes at the table. It costs 15,800 won per person at weekday lunch and 19,800 won on weekday evenings, weekends and holidays. We read 13 posts dated June 2025 to September 2026; three were about a counselling cafe on the third floor of the same building and were set aside, and the remaining ten all describe actual visits.

Counted from what bloggers wrote in their posts; we did not confirm it with the restaurant. Where the values differ, it may be a change over time rather than a disagreement, so we show when each one was written.
These hours are counted from the posts we read. Shops change them without notice — check Naver Place before you go. Place — check hours
What sets it apart
- Tables are yours for 90 minutes; five posts mention the limit, one saying they ate non-stop for the whole hour and a half. Two posts warn of a charge for leaving food uneaten.
- Five posts went with friends and three with a partner. Two say the two-person tables are cramped, with nowhere to put the extra plates.
- Both posts that mentioned off-smells in the meat said there were none to speak of, lamb included. One other post merely guessed that buffet meat is unlikely to be top quality.

Getting inside
| In a basement | yes 0 · no 1 (of 10 posts read) |

One post describes the dining room as ground-floor; no one mentions stairs or a lower level.
We do not know whether there is a step at the entrance or whether a wheelchair or pushchair can get in. That is not a no; nobody wrote about it.
We do not know whether the toilet is inside the restaurant. One post's copied info box says separate men's and women's toilets; we did not count it.
No one mentioned: Second floor · Lift to the floor · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Toilet inside · Accessible toilet · Separate restrooms. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

What we do not know
- Opinions on size split. Two posts call the hall big enough for groups, two say it is not large (parties of five or more get split up), and one calls it middling, with about 30 seats across two- and four-person tables.
- Waiting is disputed. One post says there are often queues at weekday lunch and dinner, with a sign-up list at the door; another walked straight in around 5:30 pm on a weekday. No post gives a waiting time in minutes.
- On the mala broth, two posts at levels 1 and 2 found it not very hot, one described a heat that builds slowly, and one called it moderately spicy. Nobody tried level 3.
- Seven posts give the same opening hours, daily 11:00 to 01:00 with last orders at 23:30, but all copied from the listing. No post mentions a closing day.
- Five posts give 15,800 won for weekday lunch; one from March 2026 says 17,800 won, but another that month still says 15,800, so we do not read it as a rise. Drinks cost extra, but no post gives their prices.
- Two posts give the same phone number, 0507-1339-1592. Nobody says whether the place takes reservations.
