HEY BBOKKI

헤이뽀끼 Heippokki 'Hey' plus 'bbokki', a clipped form of tteokbokki — the name simply says this is a tteokbokki shop.

Compiled from 30 blog posts read in fullSources →

Hey Bbokki is a tteokbokki snack shop on the second floor of 52 Yeonhui-ro 1-gil in Yeonnam-dong, Mapo-gu. You order at a kiosk by the door, collect your tray when the buzzer goes, help yourself to plates and pickled radish at a self-service bar, and return the dishes yourself. Plain soupy tteokbokki is 6,500 won, the corn-cheese version 9,500 won, and sets of tteokbokki, a side, a mayo rice bowl and a drink run 22,000 to 25,000 won. We read 30 posts dated 22 December 2025 to 17 October 2026, and all 30 describe an actual visit. The December 2025 posts call it newly opened.

Counted from what bloggers wrote in their posts; we did not confirm it with the restaurant. Where the values differ, it may be a change over time rather than a disagreement, so we show when each one was written.

What sets it apart

  1. 22 posts ordered at the kiosk. Two mention instructions in English, Japanese and Chinese, and several say you key in your buzzer number yourself. One post says a staff member came straight out to explain the menu when asked.
  2. For a snack shop it reads as roomy: 12 posts call the room spacious or the tables well apart, and 11 mention big sunny windows. Seven mention a terrace, all from April 2026 onward. One post describes a separate room past the kitchen that kept a large group apart.
  3. Of the nine posts that describe the seating, six mention a bar counter or single seats; three people ate alone, one of them going back three times. Three went as a couple and three with friends.
  4. 18 posts call it clean, pointing to the half-open kitchen (four describe it as open), a self-service bar with not a speck of dust, stainless tableware, and the fact that it had just opened.
5 more
  1. Nine posts say the portions are large: three people could not finish one set, two found four single dishes too much, and one set is generally said to feed two. One post counted five prawns in the jumbo cream shrimp, another six or seven.
  2. 18 posts say the frying is crisp — the cream shrimp, the Cheetos-coated cheese sticks and the mixed fritters alike — and several mention a thin batter. Three said it was not greasy, and four that the sundae had no off smell.
  3. Spice comes in three levels: mild, medium and hot. Five posts found it hotter than expected — mild still had a kick, and medium was likened to Buldak noodles. One ordered the rosé hot and found it milder than Shin Ramyun. Six noted a sweet edge.
  4. No post calls it expensive; 12 say it is cheap for Yeonnam or good value. Most describe a meal as one 22,000–25,000 won set shared by two; one mother and two children paid 16,500 won for rosé tteokbokki, sundae and a drink.
  5. Three posts describe walking from Hongik University Station: five to six minutes, about five minutes, and under ten minutes from Exit 3. Several more repeat 'five minutes from Exit 3' in a copied info block, which we did not count.

Parking

1 posts say you cannot park. None say you can.

Posts saying you cannot1 of 30 posts

Only one post speaks from experience: no parking at the shop, use the Yeonnam 3 public car park nearby (250 won per five minutes). The other 'no parking' lines are copied from the listing, and we did not count them.

Getting inside

Second floor15 of 30 posts
Toilet inside6 of 30 posts
Separate restrooms4 of 30 posts

The shop is upstairs; 15 posts say it is on the second floor, and seven describe climbing the stairs (one calls them an outside staircase). Several note a menu board at street level and along the stairwell, so you can choose before you go up.

We don't know about steps, wheelchair or pram access, or a lift. Seven posts mention climbing stairs to the second floor, but none says whether there is a lift or step-free way up — not that there isn't one, just that nobody wrote about it.

Six posts say the toilet is inside the shop and four that it is split by gender; three more posts copied 'separate men's and women's toilets' from the listing, and we did not count those.

No one mentioned: In a basement · Lift to the floor · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Accessible toilet. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

What we do not know

  • We know little about waiting. Only two posts say they walked straight in (a weekday lunch and around 3 pm); none covers weekend evenings. One post noticed a spot outside meant for a CatchTable waitlist machine.
  • Opening hours are given as 11:00–22:00 in 16 posts, with last orders at 21:00 in eight, all copied from listings. A single October 2026 post says 22:30 with last orders at 21:30; one post is not enough to say the hours changed. Three posts say there is no afternoon break, and one says it never closes.
  • Five posts give the phone number as 0507-1315-3361 and two as 02-325-3333. None says whether it takes reservations.
  • One post discloses sponsorship, two say the shop supplied the food or service, four say they paid their own way, and the other 23 say nothing. Stock phrases such as 'near the main street of Yeonnam's maze alleys' and 'five minutes from Exit 3' recur word for word across posts, so some are likely commissioned.
