공부중화요리 Gongbu is the everyday Korean word for 'study' and junghwa yori means Chinese cuisine; none of the posts explain why the house chose the name.

Gongbu Junghwa Yori is a Chinese restaurant on the second floor of the building with the emart24 convenience store, in the side street behind Hongik University Station exit 1. It serves jjajangmyeon and jjamppong alongside mains such as tangsuyuk, guobaorou, kkanpung shrimp and gochu japchae, and has private rooms next to the hall. Prices in the posts: 12,000 won for the brisket or deluxe seafood jjamppong, 11,000 won for the charcoal-grilled pork jjamppong, 9,000 won for shrimp fried rice, 18,000 won for a small tangsuyuk, and 32,000 won for a jjajang-jjamppong-shrimp set (February 2026). Until November 2025 it was on the ground floor of the same building; posts from January 2026 on place it upstairs. We read 19 posts from December 2024 to September 2026; 18 describe an actual visit (5 from the ground-floor days, 13 after the move).

What sets it apart
- There are private rooms. Ten of the 13 posts written after the move mention them; one counted three or four rooms seating about eight each, another about four. Three posts say they sat in a room, and one group of 16 went together.
- Fried dumplings come out without being ordered. Eight of the 13 post-move posts mention them, one counting one per person and another two in total; some say they arrived before the food, one after the set was finished. A June 2025 post from the ground-floor days paid 7,000 won for them.
- It is close to the station: three posts say it is an easy walk from Hongik University Station exit 1, giving 161 metres, three minutes, and three to four minutes.
- Six posts call the portions large and one calls them average; the charcoal-grilled pork jjamppong is likened to one and a half servings and to a washbasin.

It is upstairs. Nine of the 13 post-move posts say second floor, and two describe walking up a staircase to the entrance. No post places it below ground.
Nobody mentions a lift or a step at the door. With only two posts describing stairs, we do not know whether a wheelchair or stroller can get in.
No post describes using the toilet upstairs. One copied an info block saying it is inside and unisex, and a ground-floor-era post from October 2025 said it was inside, so we do not know about the current space.

Posts that followed a TV spot
Of the 18 posts we gathered, 1 went up on a single day right after a TV spot and show no sign of a visit. They retell the broadcast, so we left them out of the counts.
We do not discard them. That a TV spot produced a burst of posts is itself something worth knowing about a place, and a star rating will not show it.

What we do not know
- There is little on waiting, and it splits by period. The only post reporting a queue is from the ground-floor days (October 2025): arrive a little late at lunch and you wait. After the move, one post walked in around 8 p.m. with no wait. Others found the room all but full at 6 p.m. on a weekday and at 2 p.m. on a weekend, but nobody describes queuing.
- Company varies: four posts went as a couple, two with friends, two with family, two in groups (16 people; seven colleagues), and one alone.
- One post disagrees on size: five post-move posts call the hall roomy, while one from January 2026 found it small and pointed to the large rooms instead.
- Heat is disputed: three posts found dishes spicy (the charcoal jjamppong, the brisket jjamppong at Shin Ramyun level), and two came to no clear conclusion.
- The five posts up to November 2025 describe the ground-floor shop, so we did not count their seating, toilet, parking or hours as current. Three posts note the move upstairs firsthand. The Naver address still read 'ground floor' in a January 2026 post.
- Ten post-move posts list hours, nine of them 11:00 to 21:00. Seven say it is closed on Sundays, one says open daily, and one from January 2026 gives 10:00 to 22:00 with last orders at 21:20. All are copied info blocks, not times anyone checked. A December 2024 post from the ground-floor days ate there on a Sunday at 11:30.
- We see no price rise: the brisket jjamppong is 12,000 won in posts from June 2025 and early 2026 alike. Three posts call it good value and none call it expensive. The 28,000-won set of December 2024 and the 32,000-won set of February 2026 contain different dishes, so we did not compare them. A single noodle or rice dish runs 9,000 to 12,000 won.
- Whether you can book appears only in copied info blocks and a pre-move post; nobody describes making a reservation. Nine posts give the same phone number, 02-334-1516.
- Two posts (February and March 2026) disclose sponsorship, three say they paid themselves, and the rest say nothing.
