CHILIN

기린1인용회전훠궈 Girin Irinyong Hoejeon Hwoguo Girin is the Korean reading of qilin (麒麟), the auspicious beast of Chinese legend; the rest of the name says it is a one-person conveyor-belt hotpot.

Compiled from 29 blog posts read in fullSources →

A one-person conveyor-belt hotpot buffet on the second floor of the Jopok Tteokbokki building, near exit 9 of Hongik University Station. Everyone gets their own pot; you order broth from a QR code at your seat, it arrives on the belt, and you pick ingredients, guobaorou and fruit off the rail as they pass. It costs 18,900 won at weekday lunch, 22,900 won at weekday dinner and 23,900 won on weekends and holidays, plus 2,000 won for a split broth. Soft drinks, coffee, ice cream and draft beer are included; soju is extra. We read 30 posts from August 2025 to October 2026; the 29 visits all fall between 26 May and 18 October 2026.

The values differ, but the periods they were written in do not overlap. This looks like a change over time rather than a disagreement, and the top row is the most recently reported. We did not confirm it with the restaurant.

What sets it apart

  1. Seven posts waited and five walked straight in. Recorded waits were 5, 19, about 20, 20–30, about 30 and about 30 minutes, including weekends and 2–3 p.m. Walk-ins were at 11:30 and noon on weekdays, at opening, and at a weekend lunch and a 2 p.m. visit. Most who waited put their name on CatchTable's remote queue and wandered nearby (one post named Tabling instead).
  2. Three posts mention a waiting area at the door — chairs for about four, though one found them too hot to sit on. Another called the waiting space cramped and suggested waiting in the next building.
  3. Nineteen posts describe the seating: mostly single seats along the belt, bar- or ring-style, plus a few four-person tables — one counted about three four-tops and twenty singles. Pairs sit side by side; groups of three or more were shown to a four-top.
  4. Seventeen posts ordered broth from the QR code at their seat. The pot rides the belt to you; you lift it onto the burner yourself and set the heat with buttons under the counter.

  1. Sixteen posts say draft beer is unlimited. The Instagram-follow condition is something posts repeated rather than observed, so we don't rely on it. One post called the beer watery.
  2. Three posts say the seats open up to store your bag.

We could not find this shop’s own listing on Naver Map, so the link searches for its Korean name around this spot instead.

Getting inside

Second floor12 of 29 posts
Separate restrooms1 of 29 posts

The shop is upstairs — twelve posts say second floor — but no one said whether you climb stairs, take a lift, or meet a step at the door. We don't know.

One post noted separate men's and women's toilets; no one said whether they are inside the shop or out in the building.

No one mentioned: In a basement · Lift to the floor · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Toilet inside · Accessible toilet. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

Posts that followed a TV spot

Of the 30 posts we gathered, 1 went up on a single day right after a TV spot and show no sign of a visit. They retell the broadcast, so we left them out of the counts.

We do not discard them. That a TV spot produced a burst of posts is itself something worth knowing about a place, and a star rating will not show it.

What we do not know

  • Opinions on space split three to one: three found it cramped, especially around the self-serve bar, and one called it roomy. Another said single seats are narrow enough to be awkward when someone sits next to you.
  • Six posts thought it good value; one did not, saying 50,000 won for two buys better hotpot elsewhere and that they wouldn't return. Soju and cheongha (4,500 won) and milk tea (3,300 won extra) are not included.
  • Heat splits three to two: three found it milder than expected, two found it properly numbing. You choose the level, and posts chose different ones.
  • Posts copy the opening hours differently. Twelve give 11:00–22:00 Monday to Thursday and 11:00–22:30 Friday to Sunday; three from September–October 2026 give 11:00–22:30 every day (last order 21:30). Four list only a 22:00 close and one says midnight. Check before you go.
  • Many posts give the same phone number, 0507-1462-9321. The only mention of booking comes from a copied info block; no one actually booked — everyone queued on site or remotely.
  • A dozen or so posts from May–June 2026 repeat the same keywords and hashtags in nearly the same order. Only one discloses sponsorship, but praise from that stretch is worth discounting. The 90-minute limit, height-based child pricing and review giveaways are house rules that posts copied; one post actually used the full 90 minutes.
