Donsubaek
돈수백 Donsubaek is written 豚壽百 — pork, long life, a hundred — which the house explains as 'eat good pork and live to a hundred.'

Donsubaek's Hongdae branch is a Busan-style pork-soup house on Hongik-ro 6-gil, a short walk from exit 8 of Hongik University station. The basic soup, dontangban, is 9,000 won and the namesake set with a side of boiled pork is 13,000 won; neither price moved in posts from January to October 2026. You order on a tablet or kiosk at the table, refill kimchi and radish from a self-serve bar, and eat on the ground floor or upstairs. We read 30 posts dated January 15 to October 7, 2026; 21 record an actual meal. Two were about other businesses and were set aside, and seven were lists, info round-ups or a founder profile, which we did not count.

The values differ, but the periods they were written in do not overlap. This looks like a change over time rather than a disagreement, and the top row is the most recently reported. We did not confirm it with the restaurant.
What sets it apart
- There is a lot of meat. Of the 21 meal posts, 12 say the soup is full of pork — one says the meat was genuinely generous, another was surprised how much pork came with the set. No post calls it skimpy.
- Nine posts say the broth has no porky smell, including one from a writer who normally avoids pork soup for exactly that reason. One post, by a self-described Busan native, found it solid but unremarkable.
- Side dishes are refilled at a self-serve bar; ten posts say so. One notes chillies are not brought to the table, so take them up front; one says chives are not on the bar but staff will bring more; one says the dried radish came on request. Several posts like that the thin noodles arrive separately, so they don't go soggy in the soup.
- Food comes fast. Five posts say so and none complain of a wait for food; one guessed it took under five minutes.
5 more
- Ordering happens at your seat: four posts used a tablet or kiosk on the table.
- There are seats meant for solo diners. The eight posts that describe seating mention one-, two- and four-person tables; one says the solo seats by the door sit inside a double door and stay warm, and one pair ended up at the bar counter when tables were full.
- Many customers are tourists: seven posts noticed foreign diners. One mentions plastic food models outside and menus in English, Korean and Chinese.
- People find it cheap: ten posts call it good value or cheap for Hongdae, and none call it expensive. One office worker paying with a meal voucher called 9,000 won fair.
- It is close to the station: five posts describe a short walk from exit 8 into the side street, one from a self-confessed bad navigator. Three mention being confused by the two entrances, front and back.

There is no parking at the restaurant. Both posts that came by car parked nearby — one in a building lot found through an app, one in a public lot. Several copied info blocks also say no parking.

Where it is

We could not find this shop’s own listing on Naver Map, so the link searches for its Korean name around this spot instead.
From the station
It is close to the station: five posts describe a short walk from exit 8 into the side street, one from a self-confessed bad navigator. Three mention being confused by the two entrances, front and back.

The restaurant is on two floors: eight posts mention an upstairs room and seven ate on the ground floor; nobody mentions a basement. Upstairs is not always open, though — a January 2026 visitor found it on a break, and a September visitor came before it had opened for the day.
No one wrote about steps at the entrance or getting in with a wheelchair or stroller — that means we don't know, not that there are none. We also don't know whether there is a lift to the upper floor. One post only notes that the front entrance is a double door.
Only one post described the toilet first-hand: inside the restaurant and shared by men and women. Two copied info blocks say the toilets are separate, so the sources disagree and we can't tell which is current.
No one mentioned: Lift to the floor · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Accessible toilet. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

Posts that followed a TV spot
Of the 28 posts we gathered, 7 went up on a single day right after a TV spot and show no sign of a visit. They retell the broadcast, so we left them out of the counts.
We do not discard them. That a TV spot produced a burst of posts is itself something worth knowing about a place, and a star rating will not show it.

What we do not know
- Waits vary. Three posts waited or saw a line; three walked straight in — at opening, around 5 pm, and at a quiet lunch. Of those who waited, one signed a waiting list on a weekend and waited about 20 minutes, one waited briefly, and one says people queue at lunch in cold weather. Another says there is a line at peak but it turns over fast. Three posts mention seats or space to wait indoors.
- Service gets mixed reports: two posts found staff friendly, one said service slipped in the crowd and a patty came out burnt, and one regular says staff are usually kind but can be unresponsive when busy.
- Opening hours come only from info blocks the visitors copied, and they disagree. Ten posts from August to October 2026 give 24 hours with a closure from Sunday 9 pm to Monday 11 am; two earlier posts (January, and a March receipt) give Sunday 9 pm to Monday 9 am. Two give only 11 am to midnight, one of them noting the sign out front said 24 hours. One post says open 24 hours every day. Check before you go.
- Prices stayed the same in every post from January to October 2026: 9,000 won for the plain, mixed and stomach soups, 9,500 for spicy, 13,000 for the set. Prices for boiled pork, hotpot and large bowls come from a single June post. One visitor was told the set's soup can't be made spicy.
- Most posts give the phone number 0507-1458-3135; two give 02-324-3131. Reservations appear only in copied info blocks and in one post relaying a request to avoid calling at 11:30–2 and 6–7; no one actually booked.
- One September 2026 regular says the restaurant has been expanded and the food models outside are new. We don't know when; posts from January 2026 already mention the upper floor.
- Lines like 'only domestic pork bones', 'broth simmered 24 hours' and 'live to a hundred' are the restaurant's own copy repeated across posts, so we don't rely on them. One post discloses sponsorship; seven say they paid themselves. One mentions lots of celebrity autographs on the way to the toilet.
