A tonkatsu restaurant in the fifth-floor food court of AK Plaza Hongdae, right by Hongik University Station. It serves tenderloin, loin, fish and chicken cutlets on their own (loin 12,000 won, tenderloin 13,000-14,000 won) or as sets with udon or cold buckwheat noodles (17,000-17,500 won), ordered from a tablet at the table. Most writers stopped in while browsing the mall's pop-ups or Animate. We read 22 posts from December 2024 to September 2026; 17 of them describe actually eating here.

What sets it apart

  1. Six posts ordered from a tablet or smart-order device at the table. One solo diner was thrown at first by the lack of a kiosk until staff seated them and handed over a tablet; another found the previous table's order still showing on it. One more complained the menu pages kept flipping, making it hard to compare dishes.
  2. On waiting, posts split three to three. Three waited or saw a line: fourth in line behind three groups on a weekend, people filling the waiting seats as time went on, and a queue outside by the time they left. Three walked straight in: first customer at the 11 a.m. opening, early on a weekend, and a weekday evening. One post mentioned waiting seats.
  3. Four posts said the coating was crisp. On thickness, one called the meat thick and juicy, while another said it wasn't especially thick but the tenderloin was substantial.
  4. Four posts called the room spacious, two of them noting generous table spacing and brick walls. Two said it felt calm and quiet enough to talk, despite being inside a busy mall.

  1. Four posts came with friends, three with family and two alone. Three brought children; one noted high chairs and another said staff brought a child's spoon.

Getting inside

In a basementyes 0 · no 3 (of 15 posts read)

Three posts described going up to the mall's fifth-floor food court. Two said the mall sits right at, or connects directly to, a Hongik University Station exit.

No post said whether there is a step at the entrance or whether a wheelchair or stroller can get in. That means we don't know, not that it is impossible.

We don't know about the toilets. One post copied a line saying the building has separate men's and women's restrooms, but no one described using them.

No one mentioned: Second floor · Lift to the floor · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Toilet inside · Accessible toilet · Separate restrooms. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

Posts that followed a TV spot

Of the 17 posts we gathered, 2 went up on a single day right after a TV spot and show no sign of a visit. They retell the broadcast, so we left them out of the counts.

We do not discard them. That a TV spot produced a burst of posts is itself something worth knowing about a place, and a star rating will not show it.

What we do not know

  • Opinions on price differ: two posts called it cheap or reasonable, one said it was a bit pricey for what it is, and one said it isn't cheap. A set meal runs 17,000-17,500 won; one pair paid 33,500 won for two sets.
  • We could not confirm opening hours. The 'daily 11:00-21:00' line was copied by one post from an info block, and the weekday 11:00 / weekend 10:30 times are the mall's hours. One post ran into a break time but did not say when it was.
  • No post said whether reservations are taken. Three posts listed the phone number 02-789-9856.
