Beteunam-irang's Hongdae branch is a Vietnamese and Southeast Asian restaurant in the basement of LC Tower, 186 Yanghwa-ro, near Exit 4 of Hongik Univ. Station. The menu runs long around pho (beef 10,000-10,500 won, tripe 13,000), with bun cha and pad thai at 13,000, banh xeo at 18,000, nasi goreng and crab dishes; you order on a tablet at the table and help yourself to coriander and pickled onion at a self-serve bar. We read 20 posts from 31 May to 25 October 2026, and all 20 describe an actual visit. Opening hours appear to have changed twice in those five months.

What sets it apart
- Eight posts said the portions are large, mostly about the noodles and meat in the pho — 'huge even in the regular size', 'this generous for only 10,000 won'.
- Six posts ordered on a tablet at the table (one called it a kiosk). Coriander isn't added to the pho; you take it from the self-serve bar, and two posts went back for refills two or three times.
- Six posts said the fried items were crisp — spring rolls, banh xeo, banh khot. One noted the banh xeo is less brittle than in Vietnam, so it cuts cleanly with scissors.

One post actually drove and says parking in the LC Tower garage was free. Others repeat information: three say validation covers 30 minutes, one adding 1,000 won per 10 minutes after that. How long parking is free is unresolved.

Finding the door is a recurring theme. One post says that although the address is B1, you cannot get in from the building's corridor or elevators — you walk round past Daiso to a separate outdoor staircase leading straight down. Another found the map saying B1 and the building directory saying 1F, and eventually found the entrance outside on the right-hand side; a third also called the entrance confusing.
No post mentions entering with a wheelchair or stroller, or a step at the door. One describes the way in as an outdoor staircase and says the building's elevators don't reach the restaurant; whether there is a step-free route, we don't know.
Nobody said whether the toilet is inside the restaurant or separated by gender — that's unknown, not absent.

What we do not know
- Heat depends on the dish and the diner: seven posts called something spicy, two said it wasn't. On the tripe pho it's two to one for spicy; on the pad thai likewise.
- Only one post describes a queue: on a Friday evening there was none on arrival, but one formed during the meal. Another arrived around 12:30 on a weekday to find all but one or two tables taken, without waiting. We don't know typical wait times.
- Opening hours differ by period: two posts from June and 24 July say 24 hours; five from 27 July to 2 October say 10:00-22:00 daily; posts from 15 October say 10:00-01:00. Most of this is copied from the restaurant's listing, so we can only date the changes to the gaps between posts. Check before going.
- No post called it expensive; two called it cheap. Beef pho was 10,000 won in an August 2026 post and 10,500 in one from 1 October — one post each, so we won't call it a price rise. Expect 10,000-13,000 won for a bowl of pho, or 12,900 for a lunch set (one post).
- Three posts copied the phone number 0507-1373-7305. None says they booked a table; one post's info block simply lists reservations as possible.
- Many posts share the same promotional wording: four repeat the restaurant's own copy about Korean beef-bone broth and tables imported from Vietnam, and eight stack the same 'Hongdae station pho / date spot' keywords. None discloses sponsorship, but we treated that copy as repeated marketing, not evidence. One self-paying blogger says staff gave them a free pho after learning they were writing a review.
