AGIT

펍차 아지트 Pubcha Ajiteu Ajiteu (agit) is Korean slang for a hideout or secret base, from the Russian agitpunkt; pubcha blends 'pub' and 'pocha', the Korean street-tent bar.

Compiled from 11 blog posts read in fullSources →

Pubcha Agit is a cocktail pub in the basement of 177 Donggyo-ro, a few minutes from Exit 1 of Hongik Univ. Station. You drink cocktails with pizza or pasta and pull board games off the shelf. Only two posts give prices: in April 2026 an apple-gorgonzola pizza was 14,000 won, a mojito 12,000 and a gin and tonic 8,500; in June a pepperoni pastry-crust pizza was 18,000 and a Godfather 15,000. We read 23 posts dated October 2025 to October 2026; 11 describe a visit here. The other 12 were about unrelated places that share the name Agit (a drama-location café in Hapjeong, a Mangwon wine bar, a Gangnam PC café, a Busan art school) and were set aside.

Rows without a count: 5 of 6 posts.

Counted from what bloggers wrote in their posts; we did not confirm it with the restaurant. Where the values differ, it may be a change over time rather than a disagreement, so we show when each one was written.

What sets it apart

  1. All 11 visit posts mention the board games. One group played Splendor, another Rummikub, and one post notes the game list is printed alongside the menu. Several also describe a corner with a stage, sound gear and a projector, but nobody saw a performance.
  2. Eight posts say a welcome cocktail arrived as soon as they sat down, and all eight got something different: a wine-based drink, gin with grapefruit juice, a raspberry mojito, an espresso martini, an almond one, a nutty one, rum with chocolate liqueur, a grapefruit fizz. Most say it changes weekly; one says daily.
  3. Nine posts mention food that came free. Eight got free fries: seven say the offer is for arrivals before 8 pm, one says before 9 pm. Four mention a bowl of pretzels or cheese-dusted crackers, and two say it can be refilled up to three times.
  4. Six posts say it was quiet enough to talk; one credits the basement for blocking street noise. Four say there are both bar seats and tables, and one counts about six tables.

Getting inside

Toilet inside2 of 11 posts
Separate restroomsyes 0 · no 1 (of 11 posts read)

Seven posts describe walking down stairs into the basement. The sign just says AGIT, and two posts warn that a second flight of stairs waits behind the first door.

Nobody mentions a step at the door, wheelchair or stroller access, or a lift. That means no one wrote about it, not that there is none — though seven posts describe going down stairs.

Two posts say the toilet is inside the bar, one of them that it is unisex. Nobody mentions an accessible toilet.

No one mentioned: Second floor · Lift to the floor · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Accessible toilet. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

What we do not know

  • No post mentions waiting for a table — that means no one wrote about it, not that there is never a wait. The two posts that give a time came at 6 pm on a Monday and 8 pm on a weekday.
  • Six posts list the same hours, 6 pm to 2 am and closed Tuesdays; five of them add that Friday and Saturday run to 4 am. All six copied this into an info box. Only one gives a last order time, midnight.
  • Only two posts give prices, so we can't say what a typical visit costs. Nine posts say the menu is replaced every two months, so treat the listed dishes and prices as belonging to their date. Two posts call it good value.
  • Four posts give the phone number, 010-6559-2889. Whether booking is required we can't say: one post's FAQ says so and no other post mentions it. Several posts pass on that the space can be hired, as something the staff told them.
  • Seven of the visit posts reuse the same phrases in nearly the same order — 'a hidden treasure', 'soft lighting and cute props', 'popular with women', 'the menu changes every two months'. None declares sponsorship; one says the writer paid only the amount over a set allowance. We did not count those stock phrases.
