Yumibun Gimbap Dangsan Bonjeom

유미분김밥 당산 본점 The posts give no meaning for the coined name Yumibun; gimbap is rice and fillings rolled in seaweed, and bonjeom means the original, flagship branch.

Compiled from 22 blog posts read in fullSources →

Yumibun Gimbap's flagship sits on a side street between Yeongdeungpo-gu Office and Dangsan stations. It sells more than 10 kinds of gimbap plus tteokbokki, glazed fried chicken, fritters and rice dishes; you order at a kiosk by the door and either eat in or take it away. On the October menu one post copied, the basic roll is 5,000 won, the owner's roll 5,500, the aged-kimchi tuna roll 8,000 and the salmon roll, limited to 30 a day, 12,000. It used to be a small takeout-only shop; the current room has seating and a self-service bar. We read 30 posts from August 20 to October 28, 2026; 6 were about the Bangbae and Guui branches and were set aside, and 23 describe going there.

The values differ, but the periods they were written in do not overlap. This looks like a change over time rather than a disagreement, and the top row is the most recently reported. We did not confirm it with the restaurant.

What sets it apart

  1. Eat in and the seaweed soup at the self-service bar is bottomless; 8 posts say they actually helped themselves, one group of four going back for a second bowl. It doesn't come with takeout, and takeout posts said they missed it. The bar also holds pickled radish, water, cutlery and plates. The line about Wando seaweed simmered for an hour is the shop's own copy.
  2. Ordering is by kiosk at the entrance, as 9 posts noted. The screen asks you to grab a seat first; when your number comes up you collect the food at the pickup counter and return your tray afterwards. One post said the separate pickup area kept the takeout and delivery traffic away from the tables.
  3. Every post from August on describes the current sit-down shop. Four writers who knew the old place noted the change: it used to be takeout only, and it moved from a small shop to a much bigger one. One October 11 post recalls buying from the old takeout counter, so we did not count its hours as current.
  4. Seven posts describe getting there on foot or by bus. From exit 4 of Yeongdeungpo-gu Office station they gave 4, 6, 7 and 6–9 minutes; the 7-minute post mentioned one crosswalk on the way. One writer came by bus and got off right in front of the shop.

  1. Two posts mention waiting. A weekday lunch group waited about 5 minutes and said tables turned over fast. Another arrived at 11:20, watched the room fill quickly and called a lunchtime wait a given, though she had booked an 11:30 pickup through Naver and got it on time. Three posts mention chairs or a waiting area by the entrance.
  2. Six posts said the fried chicken was crisp outside and moist inside, with chewy rice cakes that had a crisp coating. 'Fried three times the traditional way' is the shop's slogan, and we did not count it.
  3. Opinion on price splits 3 to 2. One writer found the 12,000-won salmon roll expensive, and another said most rolls at 5,000 to 8,000 won feel clearly pricier than a neighbourhood snack shop. The two who called it reasonable were talking about the tteokbokki and the cold buckwheat noodles.

Parking

3 posts say you can park. None say you cannot.

Posts saying you can park3 of 22 posts

Eleven posts cover parking and they agree: the spaces out front are for weekends, and on weekdays you may only stop briefly to pick up an order. Three describe it first-hand: one parked out front on a weekend, one found the brief pickup stop handy, and one saw the customer-parking sign. The figure of about three spaces and the nearby paid lot (1,200 won an hour) are copied information.

We could not find this shop’s own listing on Naver Map, so the link searches for its Korean name around this spot instead.

From the station

Seven posts describe getting there on foot or by bus. From exit 4 of Yeongdeungpo-gu Office station they gave 4, 6, 7 and 6–9 minutes; the 7-minute post mentioned one crosswalk on the way. One writer came by bus and got off right in front of the shop.

Getting inside

No post describes the floor or any steps on the way in from experience; the '1st floor' in the address is registry data.

No one wrote about a step at the door or getting in with a wheelchair or stroller. That means nobody mentioned it, not that there is no barrier.

No post says whether the restroom is inside the shop or separated by gender.

No one mentioned: Second floor · In a basement · Lift to the floor · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Toilet inside · Accessible toilet · Separate restrooms. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

Posts that followed a TV spot

Of the 23 posts we gathered, 1 went up on a single day right after a TV spot and show no sign of a visit. They retell the broadcast, so we left them out of the counts.

We do not discard them. That a TV spot produced a burst of posts is itself something worth knowing about a place, and a star rating will not show it.

What we do not know

  • Who people went with is scattered: 2 posts with groups of coworkers, 1 alone, 1 on a date, 1 with a child, 1 by car. The rest don't say.
  • Sixteen posts list opening hours, nearly all copied from map listings. Most agree: opens 10:30 on weekdays and 10:00 on weekends, closes 20:30, break 14:30–16:00, last order 20:00, closed Mondays. Three say it opens at 10:00 every day from Tuesday to Sunday, and one says it closes at 20:00. One writer was turned away by the afternoon break, so check before going mid-afternoon.
  • Prices rest on September–October 2026 posts and one copy of the October menu. The cold buckwheat noodles are a summer item and may be gone out of season. Branch posts list different prices and were not counted.
  • Eight posts give the same phone number, 0507-1467-0376. Takeout can be pre-ordered and timed through Naver, and group orders of 20 rolls or more are taken by reservation. No post says whether you can book a table.
  • Many posts repeat the same phrases in the same order: second generation, 23 years, over 10 million rolls sold, 10+ signature rolls, chicken fried three times, bottomless soup for diners. One branch post still carried them under a '[mission]' heading. No post discloses sponsorship, but we treat these lines as copied promotional text and don't rely on them. Even the sales figure disagrees: one writer saw the in-store counter showing over 310 million. 'Top five gimbap in Seoul' is not an official ranking.
