Yu Yuan
유유안 Yuyuan Yu Yuan is a Chinese name: one post reads it as 御苑, 'imperial garden', and another ties 'Yu' to jade, the green that runs through the room. The posts do not settle which reading is right.

Yu Yuan is a Cantonese restaurant on the 11th floor of the Four Seasons Hotel Seoul in Gwanghwamun. The registered address says the 10th floor, but every post says 11th. The meal centres on Peking duck: the birds hang in a cabinet at the entrance and a chef carves yours beside the table. Around it come dim sum, fried rice and noodle soups, ordered à la carte or as a course. Most à la carte dishes run 50,000 to 90,000 won (mala beef noodle soup 67,000, black-pepper Korean beef 90,000). Posts list half a duck at 110,000 won, a whole duck at 208,000, and the Essence lunch course at 188,000 per person. One couple ate four dishes and paid 222,300 won after a 10% card discount. We read 30 posts dated 25 December 2024 to 21 October 2026, and 15 of them describe an actual meal here. We set aside 13 that were about the hotel's other outlets (The Market Kitchen, Maru, Charles H., Akira Back) or about hotel stays.

The values differ, but the periods they were written in do not overlap. This looks like a change over time rather than a disagreement, and the top row is the most recently reported. We did not confirm it with the restaurant.
What sets it apart
- Eight posts say they booked ahead. The duck is treated as something you order in advance: one post says you can only get it if you pre-order, and another calls a whole duck a must-reserve item. The Christmas Eve 2024 post said dinner that night was fully booked. A 45,000-won-per-person deposit shows up only in one post's copied info block, so we do not rely on it.
- Eight posts praise the staff, and they say what they saw. One couple said they were sharing, and the fried rice and noodle soup came portioned into separate bowls; the staff also remembered the writer was pregnant and brought her a complimentary yuzu tea (October 2026). Several posts note that a server rolls your first duck pancake for you.
- Four posts mention private rooms, and two of them ate in one: a family 60th-birthday lunch, and a July 2025 lunch. The room minimum spend is second-hand, so we did not count it, and the two figures disagree. A December 2024 post was told an extra 130,000 won per person at lunch and 170,000 at dinner. A June 2026 post was told at least 150,000 won per person at lunch and 200,000 at dinner.
- Six posts call it expensive, and two say it's pricey but worth it without quite landing either way. An October 2026 post said the 69,000-won roast pork belly came as just eight small pieces for the price. The 2024 Christmas holiday course was 298,000 won per person.
2 more
- Four posts found something spicy. The mala beef noodle soup was numbing enough to please one writer, who in the same post said the red-chilli rockfish wasn't hot at all. Seasoning splits: two posts found a dish salty (a braised beef in a heavy sauce, the fried leftover duck), and one said nothing was strongly seasoned.
- Five posts drank wine. One paid 54,000 won for a glass of Nyetimber, an English sparkling wine. A December 2024 post passed on the corkage fees it was quoted; we did not count that.

Parking
2 posts say you can park. None say you cannot.
| Posts saying you can park | 2 of 15 posts |

Two posts describe parking at the hotel. One found the basement car park full on a weekend, used the lot across the road and got validated; the other said the first four hours were free. One post used valet. Free time is three hours in some copied info blocks and four in others, and one writer said she was told three hours but read four in other reviews. The 30,000-won valet fee is also copied information.

Where it is

We could not find this shop’s own listing on Naver Map, so the link searches for its Korean name around this spot instead.
Getting inside
| In a basement | yes 0 · no 2 (of 15 posts read) |
|---|---|
| Lift to the floor | 2 of 15 posts |
Two posts describe taking the lift up. One notes that from the hotel lobby you need the dedicated F&B lift.
No post says whether there is a step at the entrance or whether a wheelchair or pushchair can get in. That means we don't know, not that there's a problem. Two posts mention taking a lift up.
No post says where the toilets are or whether they are separate for men and women, so we don't know.
No one mentioned: Second floor · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Toilet inside · Accessible toilet · Separate restrooms. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

Posts that followed a TV spot
Of the 17 posts we gathered, 2 went up on a single day right after a TV spot and show no sign of a visit. They retell the broadcast, so we left them out of the counts.
We do not discard them. That a TV spot produced a burst of posts is itself something worth knowing about a place, and a star rating will not show it.

What we do not know
- 'Exit 8 of Gwanghwamun station, five minutes' walk' appears only in copied info blocks. No post describes actually arriving by subway or bus, so we can't vouch for the transit route.
- No post describes queuing. One party arrived 30 minutes before its booking and was seated straight away; a couple who walked in without a booking were offered only a window-side private room. We don't know whether there is ever a wait.
- The registered address gives the 10th floor, but the posts' check-ins and text all say 11th, and two describe going up to the 11th floor themselves.
- Nine posts give opening hours, all copied from info blocks: broadly 11:30 to 21:30 with a 14:30 to 17:30 break (five posts). One post has the break ending at 17:50, and another says it ends at 17:00 on weekends and holidays. Three posts give last orders at 21:00. No post mentions a closing day.
- Four posts give the phone number 02-6388-5500. Other posts list the same number for Akira Back and The Market Kitchen, so it looks like the hotel's shared dining reservations line. Posts also booked through CatchTable and Naver.
- King crab fried rice was 52,000 won in an August 2026 post and 62,000 won in an October 2026 post. Two posts aren't enough to tell a price rise from a typo.
- A December 2024 post was told that children aged seven and under can't sit in the main dining room; that's second-hand, so we did not count it. One post came with two primary-school children. If you're bringing young children, ask when you book.
