QUA

꾸아 이대점 Kkua Idae-jeom The posts never explain the name QUA; Idae-jeom simply marks this as the branch by Ewha Womans University (other branches such as Seongsu are mentioned).

Compiled from 28 blog posts read in fullSources →

Kkua (QUA) Idae is a Hanoi-style flame-grilled pho restaurant on the second floor of 42 Ewhayeodae-gil, on the slope down from Ewha Womans University Station exit 3 towards the university's main gate. On the September 2026 menu a bowl of pho runs from 10,500 won (leek) to 14,500 won (spicy extra-meat), with bun cha, banh xeo and fried nem on the side; you order and pay on a kiosk or tablet at your seat. Many posts note that pho comes with one free refill of noodles and broth, and bun cha with one refill of noodles and sauce. We read 30 posts from August 2025 to October 2026: 28 describe a visit, one is a slot in a multi-restaurant list, and one is about a different restaurant.

Counted from what bloggers wrote in their posts; we did not confirm it with the restaurant. Where the values differ, it may be a change over time rather than a disagreement, so we show when each one was written.

What sets it apart

  1. You order from your seat. Fifteen posts describe a kiosk or tablet at every table that handles everything from ordering to payment; some add that extra coriander, pickled onion, chillies, lemon and even a staff call go through the same screen.
  2. It is large for a place by Ewha. Eighteen posts say the room is spacious, and one counted about 40 seats. Posts describe single seats and a bar counter, two-, four- and eight-person tables, and a long communal table for groups of ten or more.
  3. There is proper seating for solo diners. Three posts mention a phone stand at each single seat; one propped up a phone and watched YouTube while eating. Another mentions a basket for belongings under the seat and bag hooks on the wall. Two posts appear to have gone alone.
  4. Expect a queue at mealtimes. Three posts saw or joined one: one sat down at 11:20 on a weekday and watched the room fill and a line form well before noon; another always saw a line passing by and found it busy even around 4 p.m. Two posts walked straight in, at a weekend lunch and at 7 p.m. on a Thursday. One post says you write your name on a paper list at the door, and three mention waiting seats. One post booked through Naver and notes that the booking requires ordering and paying in advance.
3 more
  1. Food comes out fast: four posts say so, two comparing it to a burger joint. One post says the review-event freebie came so late they had to leave without eating it.
  2. Nine posts call the portions generous. One felt the noodles were a bit scant and used the free refill. Nearly every post describes the refill as once per dish; just one says it is unlimited.
  3. Nine posts mention the Naver receipt-review offer of two free shrimp rice rolls. One October 2026 post says the rolls had run out and something else was substituted.

Parking

1 posts say you cannot park. None say you can.

Posts saying you cannot1 of 28 posts

Several posts repeat that the restaurant has no car park of its own and point to the paid Idae Iroom (Iroom Tower) car park a block away. Only one post appears to have driven, and it found that car park the cheapest nearby. Nobody mentions a parking discount.

Getting inside

Second floor1 of 28 posts
Toilet inside1 of 28 posts
Separate restroomsyes 0 · no 1 (of 28 posts read)

Posts disagree on the floor. A September 2026 post climbed a wooden staircase; an August 2025 post called it a second floor that feels like the ground floor. Another post notes the street slopes downhill here, so it may depend on which side you approach from.

Nobody wrote about steps at the entrance, wheelchair or pushchair access, or a lift. That does not mean there is none, only that nobody said. The address is a second floor, and one post just says you reach it by climbing a wooden staircase.

Only one post mentions the toilet: in February 2026 it was inside the building, unisex, with a lock that worked properly.

No one mentioned: In a basement · Lift to the floor · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Accessible toilet. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

Posts that followed a TV spot

Of the 29 posts we gathered, 1 went up on a single day right after a TV spot and show no sign of a visit. They retell the broadcast, so we left them out of the counts.

We do not discard them. That a TV spot produced a burst of posts is itself something worth knowing about a place, and a star rating will not show it.

What we do not know

  • Prices have gone up. Posts from December 2025 to March 2026 give 11,500 won for the Hanoi original pho, 13,000 won for the single bun cha and 39,500 won for the signature set; from August 2026 they are 12,000, 14,000 and 42,000 won. The extra-meat pho went from 13,000 to 13,500 won and the banh xeo from 18,000 to 19,000 won. One July 2026 post still lists the set at 39,500 won. One post thought it poor value for the price; two found it cheap or good value.
  • Two posts from January and February 2026 say bun cha could not be ordered at lunch, available only from 4:30 p.m. on weekdays. In August 2026 one post ordered a single bun cha at 11:20 on a weekday, so this seems to have changed in between. We have not confirmed whether every dish, banh xeo included, is now available at lunch.
  • Spicy pho comes with a choice of heat level. Four posts found it hot. One says level 3 of 4 is like Yeul Ramen, another says the same of level 2, so the descriptions do not agree. Two posts warn that the chilli paste on the table is fiery.
  • One post differs on smell: in February 2026 it found the broth's funky aroma a little off-putting, while two posts said the bun cha pork had no gamey smell and two found the spicing very mild.
  • Eighteen posts give the same hours: 11:00 to 20:30, last order 20:00, no afternoon break, though many simply copied the listing. One post reports a temporary closure on 7 and 8 August 2026 for electrical repairs and advises checking the Naver notices before going. Posts from August and October 2026 mention a sign saying coriander was in short supply.
  • Two phone numbers circulate: eight posts give 0507-1335-8475 and two give 02-313-3040. Posts say reservations work through Naver Booking and Catch Table.
  • Many posts repeat the same search phrases ('Idae Station pho', 'Sinchon Station pho') in titles and hashtags, and some pairs share identical hashtags or near-identical directions. None disclose sponsorship, and six say they paid themselves. Some may be commissioned posts, so the praise counts should be read with that in mind.
