A pork-cutlet kimchi-nabe shop up a flight of stairs on the second floor of 52-35 Ewhayeodae-gil, in the alley by Ewha's main gate. You order at a kiosk outside the door, collect your tray when your number comes up, and return dishes to a drop-off counter. The kimchi nabe cost 9,000 won in posts up to December 2025 and 9,500 won from April 2026. One October 2024 post says the shop used to be in a basement in the building next door. We read 26 posts dated 15 October 2024 to 14 October 2026; two were about other places, and 22 describe actually eating here.

Counted from what bloggers wrote in their posts; we did not confirm it with the restaurant. Where the values differ, it may be a change over time rather than a disagreement, so we show when each one was written.

What sets it apart

  1. Thirteen posts ordered at the kiosk first. Several mention a sign telling you to check for a free seat before ordering — one warned that ordering first can leave you with food and nowhere to sit. Water, pickled radish, cutlery and cutlet sauce are self-serve, and you need your number slip to collect the food.
  2. Eleven posts describe the seating and six call the room spacious: solo seats, two- and four-person tables, and a window counter for solo diners; one post counted tables up to six seats. One noted the folding windows are thrown open in spring and summer.
  3. Ten posts are from repeat visitors — one says more than ten visits, another went between classes all semester for the katsudon.
  4. Four posts call the coating crisp. It arrives scalding, half-sunk in broth — one diner burned the roof of their mouth — and one post said the coating sometimes comes away from the meat.
6 more
  1. Three posts found the cutlet thick; one November 2024 post found it dry.
  2. Two posts say the kimchi nabe is not spicy at all; one says the stir-fried udon is the hot one.
  3. Four posts found the portions generous; one felt the nabe itself was small. Posts note you can take your bowl to the counter for more rice.
  4. Six posts call it good value; one said that with so many cheap places nearby it did not feel especially cheap, just fair.
  5. Five posts went with friends or classmates; one each went alone, with a younger sibling, and with a group of coworkers. Many posts remark on how many people eat here alone.
  6. Three posts walked from the station — about five minutes from Ewha Womans Univ. station, downhill, or five minutes from Sinchon station on the Gyeongui line.

Lift to the flooryes 0 · no 2 (of 21 posts read)

Toilet inside1 of 21 posts

Nine posts describe climbing stairs to the second floor. Two say there is no lift, and one of them adds there is no ramp either.

The current shop is on the second floor; the basement was the old site.

Nobody wrote about steps at the entrance or getting in with a wheelchair or pushchair. We only know it is up a staircase with no lift — not that access is impossible, just that no one described it.

One post describes the toilet: inside the shop, single-occupancy. A claim of separate men's and women's toilets appears only in a copied info block, so we did not count it.

No one mentioned: Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Accessible toilet · Separate restrooms. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

Posts that followed a TV spot

Of the 23 posts we gathered, 2 went up on a single day right after a TV spot and show no sign of a visit. They retell the broadcast, so we left them out of the counts.

We do not discard them. That a TV spot produced a burst of posts is itself something worth knowing about a place, and a star rating will not show it.

What we do not know

  • Prices have gone up. The kimchi nabe was 9,000 won through December 2025 and 9,500 won from April 2026; the egg add-on went from 500 to 600, 800 and then 1,000 won over the same period.
  • Only one post (October 2024) mentions the move from a basement next door, and it gives no date. One post describing a May 2024 visit could be from either location.
  • Opening hours have changed. Posts from November 2024 and February 2025 give weekdays 10:30–20:30 with a 14:30–15:30 break and last orders at 20:00; nine posts from June 2025 on give weekdays 10:00–20:00, no break, closed weekends (six add last orders at 19:30). All of these are copied from map listings rather than checked in person, as is the note that it may close early when ingredients run out.
  • No post reports a queue. Two say there was none — one at about 2 p.m. on a public holiday. Nobody wrote about the weekday lunch peak.
  • Two phone numbers appear: 0507-1402-8321 in four posts from November 2024 to June 2025, and 010-8566-8321 in two posts from December 2025 and March 2026. Nobody said whether it takes reservations.
