Cheonjin Bunsik
천진분식 Cheonjin is the Korean reading of Tianjin, the Chinese port city, and bunsik means a snack-food eatery — though the posts all describe it as a Chinese kitchen.

A small Chinese place down an alley off Ewhayeodae 5-gil, a walk from Ewha Womans University station. The name says snack bar, but the draw is wonton soup over rice (8,500 won) and handmade fried dumplings, alongside fried rice, wonton noodles, cold noodles and jajangmyeon. Smashed cucumber comes to the table; other sides are self-serve. It reopened after a renovation in August 2026: posts since then say the room is about one and a half times bigger, the dumplings are now 6 for 7,500 won, and there is a new wonton rice bowl. Before that it was a cramped room of five or six tables with dumplings at 5 for 5,500 won. We read 20 posts from November 2024 to October 2026; 19 describe an actual visit.

Counted from what bloggers wrote in their posts; we did not confirm it with the restaurant. Where the values differ, it may be a change over time rather than a disagreement, so we show when each one was written.
What sets it apart
- The dumplings get the most attention. Nine posts describe juice bursting from the filling and eight call the skin crisp. One disagreed, finding the skin so thick it was hard rather than crunchy. Two warned they come out hot enough to burn.
- Seven posts call the prices low or fair; none call them high. Three mention a discount, but they differ: two say 500 won off each item for cash, one says it is for bank transfer. No post from after the reopening says whether it still applies.
- Six posts say the portions are large, several mentioning the heap of bean sprouts on top of the wonton soup.
- Three posts note you can watch the kitchen — one enjoyed the wok work at the lunch peak, and a post from after the reopening says the kitchen sits right by the counter.
3 more
- Six posts are by repeat visitors, one going at least once a month.
- Two posts waited. One, on a Thursday in March 2026 at 12:28, found it full with a queue and advised coming after 1 p.m., when the lunch crowd clears out; another waited behind a single party. One post found it relaxed just after 1 p.m., and one found it a third full at 12:30 on a weekday right after the reopening. Nobody gave a wait time in minutes.
- Four posts describe getting there by subway — about three minutes on foot from exit 2 of Ewha Womans University station, with a bus stop nearby. Several warn it is tucked into an alley and hard to find the first time; two say there are doors on both the front and back alleys.

We could not find this shop’s own listing on Naver Map, so the link searches for its Korean name around this spot instead.

No post describes the floor from experience; only the address says ground floor.
We don't know whether there is a step at the door or whether a wheelchair or stroller fits — not because the answer is no, but because nobody wrote about it.
One post mentions the toilet: outside the restaurant and shared by men and women. That visit was in June 2026, before the reopening, so we don't know if it still holds.
No one mentioned: Second floor · In a basement · Lift to the floor · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Accessible toilet. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

Posts that followed a TV spot
Of the 19 posts we gathered, 1 went up on a single day right after a TV spot and show no sign of a visit. They retell the broadcast, so we left them out of the counts.
We do not discard them. That a TV spot produced a burst of posts is itself something worth knowing about a place, and a star rating will not show it.

What we do not know
- Room size splits at August 2026. Earlier posts describe five or six tables, or six two-seaters and two four-seaters; two posts since the reopening say it is bigger. Nobody has counted the tables since.
- Prices changed with the reopening: before, dumplings were 5 for 5,500 won or 3 for 3,500 won and wonton soup 8,500 won; since, dumplings are 6 for 7,500 won. No post since gives the soup or fried-rice price, so we don't know what a meal costs now.
- Opening hours are only copied from listings and split in two. Before the reopening: 9:30 to 20:00, last order 19:30, closed Sundays. Since: two posts give 9:30 to 20:30 with last order at 20:00, one of them saying open every day; another lists only weekdays 9:30 to 20:30. Check Sundays before going.
- Company varies: two posts went with friends, two in a group, one with a partner, one alone. Several mention lots of solo diners.
- Three posts give the same phone number, 02-364-0410. Whether it takes bookings is unclear — one post only copies 'groups and reservations: ask the store'.
