October Bakery

악토버 베이커리 Aktobeo Beikeori Aktobeo is the Korean spelling of the English word October; one post says the sign reads Cafe October with the slogan The Taste of October's Warmth.

A bakery-café at Ewhayeodae-gil 20, ground floor, a few minutes' walk from exit 3 of Ewha Womans University station toward the main gate. Made-to-order baguette and ciabatta sandwiches run 11,000-13,000 won, pre-made omelet sandwiches from the fridge 4,500-5,700, alongside country loaves and croissants. From September 2026 it adds autumn-only chestnut baguettes: the regular at 15,000 won and a new hojicha version at 16,000. You order at the counter, collect when the buzzer goes, and take your own cutlery. It used to be called One's Own, and three posts note delivery apps still list it under that name. We read 30 posts from April to October 2026; 27 describe an actual visit. None disclose sponsorship.

Counted from what bloggers wrote in their posts; we did not confirm it with the restaurant. Where the values differ, it may be a change over time rather than a disagreement, so we show when each one was written.

What sets it apart

  1. The room is small with a high ceiling: eleven posts mention the ceiling, ten say the space is not large, and one found it roomier than expected. Seating is small tables only; counts vary from four two-tops plus two singles to about seven two-tops, and one post says a third person needs a stool while four would mean pushing tables together. A June 2026 post confirms there is no upstairs seating despite the height.
  2. Expect to wait for a table: six posts mention a queue. One waited about 30 minutes as third in line at 11:50 on a holiday morning, another about 10 minutes behind two groups at 1 p.m.; one walked in at 11:30 and watched a line form while choosing bread. There is a waitlist kiosk at the entrance, and two posts mention a bench out front to wait on. One post notes takeaway skips the queue, and twelve posts took food to go.
  3. Six posts call it on the pricey side; one says coffee plus a sandwich tops 15,000 won, steep for students, while another says it is expensive but large and well filled. Five posts mention generous portions. One notes delivery prices run 1,000 won above in-store.
  4. The baking happens in view behind the counter: four posts mention the open kitchen, one noting bread is made on site rather than brought in. One post remarks on how clean the shop is kept.

Posts saying you cannot1 of 26 posts

Parking is hard. Most 'no parking' lines are copied listing data; one post speaks from experience, saying the single-lane road out front allows no stopping at all and suggesting the public lot behind exit 6 of the station. Five posts describe walking from exit 3 instead.

Getting inside

Toilet insideyes 0 · no 1 (of 26 posts read)

On floors, our only first-hand source is one June 2026 post saying the shop is ground floor only; we don't rely on the '1F' in the address.

We don't know whether there is a step at the door or whether a wheelchair or stroller fits. 'Wheelchair accessible' appears only as copied listing data; no one wrote from experience.

There is no restroom inside the shop. The one post that used it says it is outside, up an escalator to the second floor, with the way back down by elevator, looping around the block. No one mentions gender-separated or accessible restrooms; the 'restroom in building' line elsewhere is copied listing data.

No one mentioned: Lift to the floor · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Accessible toilet · Separate restrooms. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

Posts that followed a TV spot

Of the 29 posts we gathered, 3 went up on a single day right after a TV spot and show no sign of a visit. They retell the broadcast, so we left them out of the counts.

We do not discard them. That a TV spot produced a burst of posts is itself something worth knowing about a place, and a star rating will not show it.

What we do not know

  • Service reports are mixed. One post says staff dismissed a complaint about an off-tasting yogurt without checking; another had one very rude cashier but found the rest extremely friendly. No post simply calls the staff friendly.
  • One April 2026 post says seating is limited to 90 minutes; no other post mentions it.
  • Only five posts say who they came with: four with friends, one alone. No post mentions children, so we don't know about high chairs or kids.
  • Every post lists the same hours, 10:00 to 20:00 daily, but all copied them from the listing; none mention closing days, breaks or last orders. One post found little bread left by late afternoon.
  • Four posts copy the phone number 010-2635-3190 from the listing. Reservations likewise appear only in copied data; no one wrote about calling or booking.
  • One price change shows up: the hummus-carrot ciabatta was 10,500 won in a June 2026 post and 11,000 in October. The plain jambon-beurre is listed at 11,000 in two posts and 11,500 in one.
  • The shop was previously One's Own and reopened as October Bakery after a remodel; this happened before our earliest post in April 2026, so we don't know exactly when. Whether the owner changed is only speculation, and posts disagree on whether it is linked to October in Pangyo.
