Dongeuria

돈그리아 Don is the Korean word for pork (and, by pun, money); the -gria ending is coined and the posts give no meaning for it.

A charcoal pork grill on Seolleung-ro 86-gil in Daechi-dong, between Seolleung and Hanti stations. The draws are a thick steak-cut pork neck and whole 'Johnson' pork skirt (18,000 won per 150 g), grilled by staff and placed piece by piece on your spoon to eat with salt, wasabi and a 3,000-won herring-roe sauce. Meals end with sullitto (12,000 won), a doenjang rice stew finished with egg, butter and basil. One group of four paid 186,000 won (46,500 each) for nine portions of meat plus sullitto. We read 30 posts dated 20 July to 7 October 2026: 24 describe a visit, 3 are multi-restaurant lists and 3 turned out to be about other places.

Rows without a count: 11 of 16 posts.

Counted from what bloggers wrote in their posts; we did not confirm it with the restaurant. Where the values differ, it may be a change over time rather than a disagreement, so we show when each one was written.

What sets it apart

  1. Staff do the grilling: 18 posts say so and one could not quite remember. Many describe the same ritual: once done, each piece goes onto your spoon rather than a plate, and staff suggest the first bite plain, then with salt, then with wasabi or the roe sauce. One post says the charcoal took a long time to arrive after ordering.
  2. Expect to wait at dinner. Eight posts say they queued, and one walking in around 6 pm on a weekday nearly had to. The only timed wait was an hour, 6:30 to 7:30 pm. You write your name at the door, the whole party must be present, and names are struck off if you are not there when called. Posts that arrived at 2, 3 or 5 pm on weekdays, or 7:40 pm on a Saturday, walked straight in, though another found a queue already at 5 pm.
  3. Meat comes in pairs of portions: 13 posts say cuts are sold only in even numbers, or that add-on orders must be at least two portions. Three posts regret that this makes sampling several cuts hard for two people.
  4. Three posts report a two-hour table limit, read from the wall notices and the menu guide.
1 more
  1. It is not a quiet room. Three posts say it was loud: one heard dishes being thrown during closing prep from 8 pm on a Saturday, one said the room echoes so talking is hard, and one called it more of an office-dinner place than a date spot.

Parking

2 posts say you can park. None say you cannot.

Posts saying you can park2 of 22 posts

Parking is a few spaces beside the building: one post says two or three spots on a narrow lane, another says only about two and often full, a third says you need luck and suggests a public lot nearby. Other posts' 'parking available' lines are copied listings, which we did not count.

Getting inside

Toilet inside1 of 22 posts

No post describes the floor or any stairs. The registered address says ground floor, but nobody wrote about it from experience.

Nobody wrote about a step at the entrance or getting in with a wheelchair or stroller. That means we don't know, not that there is no access.

Only one post mentions the toilet, saying it is inside the restaurant. Nobody said whether it is split by gender.

No one mentioned: Second floor · In a basement · Lift to the floor · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Accessible toilet · Separate restrooms. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

Posts that followed a TV spot

Of the 25 posts we gathered, 3 went up on a single day right after a TV spot and show no sign of a visit. They retell the broadcast, so we left them out of the counts.

We do not discard them. That a TV spot produced a burst of posts is itself something worth knowing about a place, and a star rating will not show it.

What we do not know

  • Not a move but a branch: several posts mention a second shop, Dwaerari, on nearby Yeoksam-ro 63-gil. One post says the minced 'jumeok-gogi' is served only there, so we left it off this menu.
  • The menu and Saturday hours have changed. A June 2025 visit says Saturday service then started at 4 pm, while 2026 posts give noon. That post and one from September 2026 say beef skirt was dropped and beef abomasum (23,000 won) and a marinated pork, ppalgangi (18,000 won), were added.
  • All opening hours in the posts are copied listings. Most of the 17 give weekdays 2 pm-11 pm (last order 10:30), Saturdays and holidays noon-10 pm, closed Sundays. One post instead puts Friday as well as Saturday at noon-10 pm, and another lists Monday to Saturday as 2-11 pm.
  • Prices mostly agree, with two exceptions: one post gives 17,000 won for the pork skirt (others 18,000) and one gives 11,000 won for sullitto (others 12,000). Two posts call it on the pricey side. Only one post gives a whole bill: 186,000 won for four.
  • Several posts say bookings are taken by phone or text at 010-7303-2112. The 50,000-won deposit, non-refundable on same-day cancellation, is a copied rule, and one post guessed 40,000. Only one post actually booked, and one notes the whole party must still be present. One post copies a corkage fee of 20,000 won per bottle.
