Mahogany
마호가니 광화문 케이스퀘어시티점 Mahogani Gwanghwamun Keiseukweeositi-jeom Mahogany is a tropical American hardwood; one post relays the brand's story that roasters once called well-roasted beans 'mahogany' for their colour.

A large café on the ground floor of the K-Square City building at Cheonggyecheon-ro 24, facing the stream. It belongs to the same company as Doré Doré, so alongside coffee it sells Doré Doré cakes (Nadojoa, rainbow, blueberry) and bakery items such as waffles and castella. Prices in the posts: americano 5,300 won, Gwanghwamun coffee 7,000, iced tea with a shot 7,300, blueberry cake 12,000. We read 30 posts dated 21 July to 30 September 2026; 12 of them describe an actual visit. Most of the 16 we set aside are about Allegria, a different café at the back of the same building.

Counted from what bloggers wrote in their posts; we did not confirm it with the restaurant. Where the values differ, it may be a change over time rather than a disagreement, so we show when each one was written.
What sets it apart
- Space is what these posts keep coming back to: five visit posts call it spacious, four mention the high ceiling and five the big windows. One counts two-tops, four-tops and group tables and guesses well over 60 seats. Crowds are noted too: quiet at noon on a Sunday but filling after 1 pm; quiet at 1 pm on a Saturday but nearly full by 3; busy yet with free seats at 3 pm on another Sunday.
- Four posts say it is pricey: 7,300 won for iced tea with a shot was called absurd, 12,000 won for a blueberry cake 'not cheap', and another found prices higher than expected. One post added that the Nadojoa cake, though expensive, is two to three times the size of other cafés' slices, enough for three. Two posts mention a 20% cake discount.
- Charging splits two to one: two posts used the outlets at their seats for laptops or phones, while one writer asked staff to charge a dying phone and was told the café does not do that — in practice you need an outlet seat.
- Three posts describe the noise three ways: very well soundproofed against a protest outside; a bit loud for working without noise-cancelling earphones; and neither silent nor loud, fine for conversation.
1 more
- Four posts went with friends, two alone to study or work, and one as a family with a nearly three-year-old, who noted a children's milk on the menu.

Where it is

We could not find this shop’s own listing on Naver Map, so the link searches for its Korean name around this spot instead.

Getting inside
| In a basement | yes 0 · no 1 (of 9 posts read) |
|---|---|
| Toilet inside | yes 0 · no 1 (of 9 posts read) |
No one described a step at the entrance or getting in with a wheelchair or pushchair; the only 'wheelchair accessible' line sits in a copied info block, which we do not count. One post found it by walking into the building's ground floor; the family that brought a pushchair said nothing about the café door.
There is no toilet inside the café: one post's only complaint was having to use the building's shared restrooms. Nobody described whether they are gender-separated or how far they are.
No one mentioned: Second floor · Lift to the floor · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Accessible toilet · Separate restrooms. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

Posts that followed a TV spot
Of the 11 posts we gathered, 2 went up on a single day right after a TV spot and show no sign of a visit. They retell the broadcast, so we left them out of the counts.
We do not discard them. That a TV spot produced a burst of posts is itself something worth knowing about a place, and a star rating will not show it.

What we do not know
- Another café, Allegria, sits at the back of the same building with the same street address, and some writers nearly walked into Mahogany by mistake. We discarded every Allegria post, including its parking, toilet and hours details.
- Two September 2026 posts use near-identical wording and the same running order (Doré Doré cakes, parking, 'run by the same company'). Neither discloses sponsorship, but they look like they came from the same brief.
- Nobody wrote about queuing; three came here because other cafés were full. That means no one reported a wait, not that there never is one.
- Four posts give opening hours, all copied and not in agreement: three say 07:30–22:00 on Thursday and Friday, but Monday–Wednesday closing is 21:30 in two and 21:00 in one, and weekend opening is 10:00 in three and 11:00 in one. One post's 'closed Sundays' contradicts its own Sunday-afternoon visit, so we set it aside. Check before you go.
- Prices are from July–September 2026 posts. Only one post copied the full drinks menu, so most cake and pastry prices are unknown; the discounts (20% on cakes, a 50% bread basket) were said to change month to month.
- Three posts give the phone number 02-6466-7177 (Allegria in the same building is 7188). Whether you can book appears only in one copied info line; no one wrote about making a reservation.
