FLOATING

L7 명동 플로팅 L7 Myeongdong Peulloting Peulloting is simply the English word 'floating' written in Hangul — it is the buffet restaurant name the L7 by Lotte hotels use, and this one sits on the hotel's 2nd floor.

A mostly-lunch hotel buffet on the 2nd floor of L7 Myeongdong by Lotte (137 Toegye-ro), right outside exit 9 of Myeongdong station. Lunch runs 11:30 to 14:00 at 38,000 won for adults and 28,000 won for children, a price that held from August 2025 to September 2026. On top of the buffet, staff bring each diner one plate of chuck-flap steak, a live station cooks Myeongdong-style kalguksu, and you bake your own croffles for dessert. We read 30 posts from June 2025 to September 2026. Nine were about other places, mostly the rooftop wine bar of the same name on the 21st floor; of the 21 about this buffet, 19 record an actual meal.

The values differ, but the periods they were written in do not overlap. This looks like a change over time rather than a disagreement, and the top row is the most recently reported. We did not confirm it with the restaurant.

What sets it apart

  1. It is easy by subway. Eleven posts say it is close to the station — two or three minutes on foot from exits 8 and 9 of Myeongdong station on Line 4. One post adds that Chungmuro and Hoehyeon stations are also within reach.
  2. This is a book-ahead place: eight posts say they reserved, and one had been turned away earlier because it was fully booked. A New Year's Day diner booked ten days ahead and still missed the window tables. The 'reservations required on weekends and holidays' line comes from copied info blocks.
  3. The rush is at the 11:30 opening. Two posts found people already waiting. One writer, on two visits, saw nearly everyone walk in at 11:30 and almost no one after noon — and warns that popular dishes may not be refilled late in the service. A weekday visitor at noon found it quiet.
  4. The windows are big: eight posts mention floor-to-ceiling glass or window tables looking down on Myeongdong's streets, and eight say the tables are well spaced.

  1. Many diners went on a discount — six posts mention one, and it changes month to month: 15% via Naver booking in January 2026, 12% on weekday lunches in June, 32,000 won for adults during a July–August Naver promotion, and 50% with a large-family card. A September 2026 post found no promotion that month.

Posts saying you cannot4 of 19 posts

Buffet guests cannot park at the hotel. Four posts say so — the garage is for hotel guests only. The three who drove used nearby paid or public lots; one paid 10,000 won for about an hour and a half at a private lot across the street.

Where it is

Map showing where FLOATING is

We could not find this shop’s own listing on Naver Map, so the link searches for its Korean name around this spot instead.

From the station

It is easy by subway. Eleven posts say it is close to the station — two or three minutes on foot from exits 8 and 9 of Myeongdong station on Line 4. One post adds that Chungmuro and Hoehyeon stations are also within reach.

Getting inside

Second floor8 of 19 posts
Lift to the floor5 of 19 posts

You take the lift from the hotel lobby to the 2nd floor: eight posts say they went up to the 2nd floor and five mention the lift. A rooftop bar with the same name is on the 21st floor, and one of its guests wrote that they wandered into the 2nd-floor buffet by mistake.

No one wrote about a step at the door or getting in with a wheelchair or stroller. Two copied info blocks list 'wheelchair-accessible entrance', but that is the listing, not a visit. All we know is that a lift goes to the 2nd floor.

No one says whether the restroom is inside the restaurant or out in the hotel corridor. One post only says it was clean; the separate men's and women's restrooms come from a copied info block.

No one mentioned: In a basement · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Toilet inside · Accessible toilet · Separate restrooms. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

Posts that followed a TV spot

Of the 21 posts we gathered, 2 went up on a single day right after a TV spot and show no sign of a visit. They retell the broadcast, so we left them out of the counts.

We do not discard them. That a TV spot produced a burst of posts is itself something worth knowing about a place, and a star rating will not show it.

What we do not know

  • How the steak arrives, and what comes with it, has changed. A June 2025 post swapped a token for it; from August 2025 staff bring it to the table. Posts from January to July 2026 describe scallop and mash on the side; three September 2026 posts describe grilled abalone, and one says the steak itself got thinner.
  • Opening hours: twelve posts agree lunch is 11:30 to 14:00. Seven list breakfast 06:30 to 10:00 with a break until 11:30, mostly copied from info blocks. One post says lunch runs to 14:30, and one price board starts breakfast at 06:00. No one mentions a closing day.
  • The adult lunch price is a steady 38,000 won, but the child breakfast price is given as 19,700 won twice and 22,000 won once. Several diners actually paid 32,000–33,000 won through promotions, so check what is running when you go.
  • Two phone numbers appear: 02-6310-1098 in three posts and 0507-1348-1439 in two. 02-6310-1092 belongs to the 21st-floor rooftop bar, not this buffet. Most diners booked through Naver.
  • Three July 2026 posts follow one template — the 'Tropical Citrus Breeze' summer menu, the scallop-and-steak table service, identical hashtags; two disclose sponsorship and one says nothing. Whether there is soda is split two posts to two.
