Maison de Platter

메종 드 플래터 스타시티서울 Mejong deu Peullaeteo Seutasitiseoul Maison de Platter is French-English for 'house of platters' — the name comes from its signature platter, brought to the table under a wooden dome lid.

Compiled from 9 blog posts read in fullSources →

A Western restaurant on the 7th floor of the Star City building in Cheonho-dong, Gangdong-gu, Seoul. Floor-to-ceiling windows look over the Han River, Olympic Bridge and Lotte World Tower; the centrepiece is a signature platter for two or more (duck, chop steak, salmon salad, tortillas, fries), usually with a pasta or pizza alongside. Posts disagree on the platter price — 69,000 or 79,000 won per person — while pastas and pizzas run 33,000–37,000 won. We read 30 posts from 15 February 2025 to 17 October 2026. Three were about a different cafe on the 2nd floor of the same building, and 15 were copies of one promotional template, so we set both aside; nine are first-hand visits.

Counted from what bloggers wrote in their posts; we did not confirm it with the restaurant. Where the values differ, it may be a change over time rather than a disagreement, so we show when each one was written.

What sets it apart

  1. Six of the nine visits wrote about the window view; one said even a corner seat had a good view through the glass. Three describe the lights going down around sunset — about ten minutes dark at around 7 p.m. with a serenade and birthday song, or dimmed at 7 p.m. One diner was told by staff that it was five minutes to sunset.
  2. Five visits praise the staff, with specifics: taking photos mid-meal and bringing a free drink for an anniversary, topping up pickles unasked, pouring a complimentary glass of wine, and seating a family with children in the group room when the floor was full on a holiday.
  3. Three visits mention private rooms: a glass-walled group room with a chandelier, separate rooms for groups, and a family who ate in the group room when the restaurant was full on a 3 March 2025 holiday.
  4. Two visits mention a review event: in May 2026, a photo-and-video review earned one of four pizzas, with a walnut pie and two americanos for extra reviews on Kakao Map and Google; in February 2025 a review earned the crab cream pasta.

Posts saying you can park2 of 9 posts

Two visits describe parking first-hand: one used the 3,000-won valet and found plenty of space; another says searching the restaurant's name in T map leads straight to the car park entrance behind the building. The 'three hours free' figure comes from copied listing blocks, so we don't rely on it.

Getting inside

In a basementyes 0 · no 2 (of 9 posts read)
Lift to the floor2 of 9 posts

No one wrote about steps at the entrance or wheelchair or stroller access — that means we don't know, not that there's a problem. Two visits mention taking the lift up to the 7th floor.

No one wrote about the toilets — where they are or whether they are separate for men and women. We don't know.

No one mentioned: Second floor · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Toilet inside · Accessible toilet · Separate restrooms. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

Posts that followed a TV spot

Of the 27 posts we gathered, 18 went up on a single day right after a TV spot and show no sign of a visit. They retell the broadcast, so we left them out of the counts.

2026-09-114 posts in one day
2026-09-104 posts in one day
2026-09-093 posts in one day
2026-09-083 posts in one day

We do not discard them. That a TV spot produced a burst of posts is itself something worth knowing about a place, and a star rating will not show it.

What we do not know

  • Prices vary between posts. Two put the platter at 69,000 won (May and October 2026), two at 79,000 won (a 2025 menu and September 2026); the tenderloin steak is listed at both 73,000 and 93,000 won. One diner noticed different prices on Naver and Catchtable. Two visits call it expensive. For two people, a platter plus one pasta comes to roughly 170,000 won, but no post gives a receipt total.
  • Opening hours appear in five posts, all copied from listing blocks. Two 2025 posts say it opened at 4 p.m. (one gives noon on weekends); three 2026 posts say 5 p.m. to 3 a.m. daily, with last order at 00:30 or 01:00. No post mentions a closing day — check before you go.
  • Four posts give the phone number as 0507-1325-2042; one March 2025 post gives 02-488-2042. One diner advises booking for a window seat; a couple who walked in before dinner without a booking were seated mid-room because window tables went to reservations.
  • No visit records actually walking from the station. Two posts give directions from Cheonho Station exit 2 past the Gwangjingyo intersection to the round building opposite the Gangdong police box, about a ten-minute walk, but these are directions rather than accounts. The '9 minutes' line appears word for word in the 15 template posts, so we didn't count it.
  • No visit mentions queuing or waiting. One family found the restaurant full on the 3 March 2025 holiday but was seated in the group room without waiting.
  • Fifteen posts published between 7 and 11 September 2026 follow a single template: each repeats the same '9 minutes from Cheonho exit 2' and 'inspired by a French petit marché' lines, steers toward Christmas and proposals, and ends with the same six hashtags. Each orders only the platter and gives no price. We did not count them as visits.
