Deokhu Seonsaeng is a Chinese restaurant on the fourth floor of D Tower in Gwanghwamun. People come in groups to share Peking duck (120,000 won whole, 70,000 won half) with dishes such as cumin ribs (31,000), beef noodle soup (20,000) and egg fried rice (12,000). We read 30 posts dated 19 January to 19 October 2026. We set aside 9 that were about other restaurants in the building and 1 that was only a check-in, which leaves 20 visits. Of those, 10 ordered the duck, 10 the egg fried rice and 9 the cumin ribs.

Counted from what bloggers wrote in their posts; we did not confirm it with the restaurant. Where the values differ, it may be a change over time rather than a disagreement, so we show when each one was written.
What sets it apart
- This is a place people book. Eight posts either booked or advised booking. Two pre-ordered the duck when they reserved, and one group of eight booked by phone.
- No post says they had to wait. One that walked straight in on a reservation watched a queue build after they sat down, and another found it busy even at a weekday lunch.
- Mostly a group place: 5 posts went as a work or social group, 4 with friends, 2 as a couple and 1 with family.
- Three posts sat in a private room. A party of eight got a room overlooking Gwanghwamun; a party of five reported no room fee but recalled a minimum spend of about 50,000 to 60,000 won per person.
6 more
- Three posts say the bar seats look onto the kitchen, with duck preparation, hand-pulled noodles and wok work on view. One group noted the duck was not carved in front of them.
- Nine posts found the food spicy, one found it milder than expected. One sweated through the beef noodle soup's chili oil; another warns some of the fried peppers are fiery.
- Five posts call the fried dishes crisp, mainly the cumin ribs, the fried squid and the cereal shrimp.
- Eight posts were repeat visits, including one returning after three years and one that comes every New Year season.
- Three posts ordered on a tablet at the table.
- Two posts came by public transport; one gives it as 200 m, about three minutes on foot, from exit 3 of Gwanghwamun station.

Where it is

We could not find this shop’s own listing on Naver Map, so the link searches for its Korean name around this spot instead.

Getting inside
| In a basement | yes 0 · no 2 (of 20 posts read) |
|---|
The restaurant is on the fourth floor; two posts reached it by escalator.
No post says whether there is a step at the entrance, whether a wheelchair or stroller fits, or whether there is a lift. That means nobody wrote about it, not that there isn't one.
No post says where the toilets are or whether they are separated by gender. We don't know.
No one mentioned: Second floor · Lift to the floor · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Toilet inside · Accessible toilet · Separate restrooms. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

Posts that followed a TV spot
Of the 21 posts we gathered, 1 went up on a single day right after a TV spot and show no sign of a visit. They retell the broadcast, so we left them out of the counts.
We do not discard them. That a TV spot produced a burst of posts is itself something worth knowing about a place, and a star rating will not show it.

What we do not know
- Opinions on portions differ: two posts found them generous, one says they are small and you should order more dishes than people, and one felt portions had shrunk.
- Two posts found dishes salty, the course's cold starters and the mapo tofu; one said the food was not salty.
- Corkage appears to have changed. Info copied into a May 2026 post said free corkage; two October posts say it is charged, one recalling 30,000 won per bottle of wine and noting it used to be free. Only that one post speaks from experience, so we don't know when it changed.
- Hours appear in 9 posts, all apparently copied from listings. Six give 11:00–21:30 on weekdays and 11:30–21:30 at weekends. The weekday break is 14:30–17:00 throughout; for weekends four posts say 15:00–17:00 and one says 14:30–17:00. Two posts give 11:30 daily and one 11:00 daily; three give last orders at 20:30. No post mentions a closing day. Eight posts list the same phone number for bookings, 02-2251-8422.
- We have menu prices but few meal totals; one couple paid 93,000 won for four items. Three posts call it pricey, one saying it is a bit much to pay out of your own pocket, another balking at 24,000 won for two pieces of abalone.
