Jungsik

정식당 Jeongsikdang Named after its chef Yim Jung-sik: 'Jungsik-dang' is simply 'Jungsik's house' (dang means hall or house).

Compiled from 7 blog posts read in fullSources →

Jungsik is a Korean fine-dining restaurant occupying a whole building on Seolleung-ro 158-gil in Cheongdam, near Apgujeong Rodeo station. Lunch and dinner are each a single signature course: laver-chip gimbap, duck or Hanwoo beef, gamtae-seaweed noodles and the Dolharbang dessert. Posts from 2026 put lunch at 230,000 won and dinner at 330,000 won per person; one writer recalling a visit a year earlier paid 300,000 won for dinner. We read 30 posts dated June 22 to October 15, 2026; 7 of them are first-hand visits. The other 23 were about other places or listed Jungsik in a roundup, so we did not count them.

Counted from what bloggers wrote in their posts; we did not confirm it with the restaurant. Where the values differ, it may be a change over time rather than a disagreement, so we show when each one was written.

What sets it apart

  1. Getting a table is the hard part. Four posts describe booking: one set alerts and tried for about two weeks, another says lunch has become very hard to book, and one notes weekdays are fairly open while Saturdays fill fast. Three posts say slots open at 11 a.m. on the 1st of even-numbered months for the next two months; one says bookings open one month ahead.
  2. Four posts call it expensive. Supplements stack up on the course: 30,000 won for Hanwoo, 60,000 for the assorted gimbap, and sea urchin on the noodles at 30,000 won in two posts and 40,000 in one. One writer warns the bill climbs quickly once you add extras.
  3. Four posts were couples, often for wedding anniversaries; two mention a lettered message on dessert. One post was a group business meal in a third-floor private room.
  4. Three posts drank wine: one took the five-glass pairing, one had a husband drink the pairing alone, and in one the sommelier suggested a bottle instead because the pairing would be costly.

Getting inside

Second floor2 of 7 posts
Lift to the floor1 of 7 posts

Seating is split by floor. Two posts ate in the second-floor dining room, one taking the lift up; two used a private room on the third floor. A ten-time regular calls the second-floor room bright, like a modern art museum, and found the third-floor room plainer. Another writer used a private room with no room charge and heard nothing from next door.

No post mentions a basement level; diners ate on the second floor or in third-floor rooms, and the ground floor is described as a café, lounge or event space.

Nobody wrote about steps at the entrance or arriving with a wheelchair or stroller; one post mentions taking a lift to the second floor. That means we don't know, not that access is poor.

One post photographed the restroom tissue, but nobody said where the toilets are or whether they are separated by gender.

No one mentioned: In a basement · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Toilet inside · Accessible toilet · Separate restrooms. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

Posts that followed a TV spot

Of the 9 posts we gathered, 2 went up on a single day right after a TV spot and show no sign of a visit. They retell the broadcast, so we left them out of the counts.

We do not discard them. That a TV spot produced a burst of posts is itself something worth knowing about a place, and a star rating will not show it.

What we do not know

  • Prices have risen. One post recalling a visit a year earlier paid 300,000 won for dinner and 190,000 for five-glass pairing; 2026 posts give 330,000 and 210,000. One writer remembers lunch at 70,000 won about ten years ago.
  • No one queued; this is a reservation-only kind of place. One writer arrived early and waited in a lounge stocked with champagne and wine.
  • No one visited with children. One post copied house rules saying the second-floor room admits no one under 13 and the third-floor rooms can arrange a children's course; this is not first-hand.
  • The ground floor keeps changing: one regular says it has been a café or lounge on different visits, another mentions a Jungsik café, and a May 2026 visitor lists it as an event space.
  • Five posts give opening hours, all copied from the listing. Four agree on noon to 10 p.m. with a 3–5:30 p.m. break; one says 10:30 p.m. Two list last orders at 1:15 p.m. for lunch and 7:15 p.m. for dinner, open every day.
  • Five posts give the same phone number, 02-517-4654. On booking channels, two say CatchTable only, one says phone and email also work.
  • Two roundup posts (a Michelin star list and an Apgujeong top-five drawn from 2023 material) only introduce Jungsik, so we did not count them. Two identical promotional posts for an unrelated tuna bar were set aside.
