Ining

Compiled from 5 blog posts read in fullSources →

A Chinese restaurant on the ground floor of the Ining Building, 14 Dosan-daero 58-gil, Cheongdam-dong. Visitors mostly ordered Peking duck (132,000 won) and jjamppong (15,000 won), with ganjjajang, sweet-and-sour pork, jaengban jjajang, cream shrimp and candied sweet potato also appearing. The duck is shown whole at the table, then carved in the kitchen into skin, meat and legs; posts dip the skin in sugar and wrap the meat in pancakes. We read 20 posts dated 12 August to 25 October 2026; 5 describe actually eating here. Eleven were about other places, seven of them Sydney Seoul in the building next door (18 Dosan-daero 58-gil), and four only repeated list material such as actress Lee Min-jung's favourite spots, so we did not count them.

Counted from what bloggers wrote in their posts; we did not confirm it with the restaurant. Where the values differ, it may be a change over time rather than a disagreement, so we show when each one was written.

What sets it apart

  1. There are several private rooms: three of the five visit posts mention them. One notes each room has its name on it; another was told rooms seat up to 18 (hearsay, not counted). One couple was seated in the main hall instead.
  2. Three posts call the staff friendly. One says servers explained how to eat each part of the duck and kept up even with a full dining room at dinner; another singles out the owner as kind.
  3. One post says portions are large: a bowl of jjamppong was enough for two adults, and three hearty eaters were full after two dishes. The same post asked for refills of the zhacai side twice.
  4. One post says jasmine tea arrives with the zhacai when you sit down. Three posts mention the zhacai, one adds pickled radish and roasted peanuts, and two say a yogurt ice cream comes at the end.

Three posts touch on parking. One actually used the valet and a nearby public lot; the 5,000-won valet fee in the other two is copied into their info boxes.

Getting inside

Toilet inside1 of 5 posts
Separate restrooms1 of 5 posts

No visitor described which floor the dining room is on; the 'ground floor' in the address is copied. This does not mean otherwise, only that nobody wrote about it.

Nobody wrote about steps at the entrance or about getting in with a wheelchair or stroller. We don't know.

One post says the restrooms are inside and separated by sex, and two call them clean. Nobody mentions an accessible restroom.

No one mentioned: Second floor · In a basement · Lift to the floor · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Accessible toilet. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

Posts that followed a TV spot

Of the 9 posts we gathered, 4 went up on a single day right after a TV spot and show no sign of a visit. They retell the broadcast, so we left them out of the counts.

We do not discard them. That a TV spot produced a burst of posts is itself something worth knowing about a place, and a star rating will not show it.

What we do not know

  • One post calls it corkage-free but does not say they brought their own bottle; no post confirms the terms.
  • One post describes Christmas decorations, but it was published in October, so the visit may have been last winter.
  • Only one post covers transit: 12 minutes on foot from Apgujeong Rodeo Station exit 4, 11 minutes from Gangnam-gu Office Station exit 4, with many buses near Hakdong intersection.
  • No post mentions waiting; one only notes the hall was mostly full early in the evening. That is not evidence there is no wait, just that nobody reported one.
  • Company varies, one post each: with parents, with a boyfriend, with a friend who is a regular; two posts don't say.
  • Three posts give identical hours (Mon-Sat 11:30-22:00, break 14:30-17:30, closed Sunday), all copied into info boxes. Two posts give the phone number 02-547-7444, and one links to Naver booking.
  • Only two prices recur: Peking duck at 132,000 won and jjamppong at 15,000 won. Nobody gives a per-person total. One post calls it pricey but says the taste and portions match, and wondered whether the jjamppong was a little expensive.
  • None of the five visit posts discloses sponsorship. Two open with the same block of location, hours, parking and amenity details, and one says only that it 'includes' self-paid parts, so it's unclear whether the whole meal was paid for.
