TSUKIYOWA

츠키요와 Tsukiyowa Tsukiyowa (月夜和) puts together 'moonlit night' and 'harmony'; the posts render it as 'a harmonious night under the moonlight'.

Compiled from 25 blog posts read in fullSources →

A Japanese dining counter on the first basement floor of the Open the Cheongdam building, between Apgujeong Rodeo station and Cheongdam-dong. Lunch was an eel-over-rice set (59,000 won for a half eel, 89,000 won for a whole); dinner is à la carte plus a 150,000-won chef's course, all served at a bar wrapped around the open kitchen. One post from 23 October 2026 says lunch switched that day to a 'chef's weekly set' (38,000–58,000 won) whose main changes every two weeks. One post says dinner in February 2025 was a single kaiseki course. We read 30 posts from November 2025 to October 2026; 3 were about the separate Gangneung branch and were set aside, and 26 describe a visit.

The values differ, but the periods they were written in do not overlap. This looks like a change over time rather than a disagreement, and the top row is the most recently reported. We did not confirm it with the restaurant.

What sets it apart

  1. Seating is a bar around the open kitchen. Ten posts say it is counter seating only (described as L-shaped), and fifteen watched the eel being grilled in front of them. No post mentions a regular table. One November 2025 writer found eating at the bar a little awkward.
  2. Parking is valet only. Eight posts say you can hand over the car, and one notes the valet booth is a white kiosk about 100 m ahead rather than at the door. Fees are given as either 5,000 or 6,000 won; one imported car was charged 10,000 won. One driver found nowhere else to park nearby. The 'no valet after 8 pm' (7:30 in one copied booking notice) is copied information, not something a writer experienced.
  3. Seven posts call it expensive and two call it reasonable for the quality. One couple paid 204,000 won for two eel sets, a caviar noodle side and two drinks. A November 2025 eel round-up noted most Seoul eel bowls cost around 40,000 won and called this the priciest at 87,000 won for a whole eel.
  4. Eleven posts say the staff were kind. One describes being brought a damp wipe for a stain on a white skirt, a coaster when her glass sweated, and hojicha at the end.

  1. You can bring a bottle but there is a corkage fee: two posts paid 50,000 won per bottle. The 'one bottle per party' rule comes from a copied booking notice.

Getting inside

In a basement12 of 25 posts
Lift to the floor8 of 25 posts
Toilet inside2 of 25 posts
Separate restrooms1 of 25 posts

It is underground. Twelve posts describe going down to B1, eight of them by the building's elevator; one September 2026 post walked down a staircase. One post says staff held the elevator on the way out. The registered address says B2, but every post says B1.

No one wrote about a step at the entrance or wheelchair/stroller access. Eight posts took the elevator down and one used stairs. The adults-only rule is quoted from the booking notice.

Two posts say the restroom is inside the restaurant, one of them that it is separated by gender; another mentions hand towels and lotion. Nobody mentioned an accessible restroom.

No one mentioned: Second floor · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Accessible toilet. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

Posts that followed a TV spot

Of the 26 posts we gathered, 1 went up on a single day right after a TV spot and show no sign of a visit. They retell the broadcast, so we left them out of the counts.

We do not discard them. That a TV spot produced a burst of posts is itself something worth knowing about a place, and a star rating will not show it.

What we do not know

  • Sixteen posts appeared in October 2026 alone, sharing near-identical phrases ('ex-Mosu R&D chef', Gochang eel, Haenam Hitomebore rice) and hashtags; three disclose sponsorship. We counted them because each records what was eaten, but the eel origin, rice variety and cooking method are the restaurant's own claims and are not used as evidence.
  • One post from 23 October 2026 says lunch changed that day from the eel set to a weekly chef's set; every other lunch post describes the eel set before that. We do not know whether the eel set has returned. Dinner likewise was a single kaiseki course in February 2025, while posts from June 2026 on describe à la carte.
  • Opening hours disagree. Most agree on Tuesday–Saturday, a 13:00–17:30 break and closing Sundays and Mondays, but seven posts say it opens at 10:00, eight at 12:00 and one at 11:30, mostly copied from listings. One post says lunch is a single one-hour sitting from noon, so 12:00 looks likelier — check with the restaurant.
  • No post mentions queuing — that means nobody wrote about it, not that there is never a wait. Six posts booked ahead, and one says same-day walk-ins were not possible. The 30,000-won deposit and one-hour lunch limit come from copied booking notices. Most posts give the phone number as 02-548-0824.
  • Two posts say in their own words that it is close to the station (about 180 m from Apgujeong Rodeo exit 3); other directions are copied. No one actually describes arriving by subway.
