더바움 경복궁점 Deobaum Gyeongbokgung-jeom Baum is German for tree — the shop is named for Baumkuchen, the German 'tree cake' whose baked layers look like tree rings.

A two-storey Baumkuchen café on Jahamun-ro, a few minutes' walk from Exit 2 of Gyeongbokgung Station. You pick slices from the display case, such as custard baum at ₩4,500, yanggaeng choux baum at ₩5,800 or a brûlée baum at ₩7,800, and eat them in with an Americano (₩5,000) or hibiscus tea (₩6,800), or take home a boxed or cloth-wrapped gift set. The custard baum is the most ordered item, chosen in 10 of the 28 visits. We read 30 posts dated 5 April to 6 October 2026, and 28 of them describe an actual visit.

What sets it apart
- 12 posts mention big windows or natural light. Several say the second-floor windows look out over the Seochon street and its ginkgo trees, and one plans to come back when the leaves turn. Several also mention exposed hanok rafters in the upstairs ceiling.
- 15 posts describe walking from the station. Most say to go about 100 m straight ahead from Exit 2 of Gyeongbokgung Station, putting it at two to five minutes on foot. Only one post names Exit 3 instead.
- 5 posts say you get an extra Baumkuchen for writing a Naver receipt review, and what they received was a Dubai-style chewy baum or a mini baum in a small box. Keep this in mind when reading reviews of this café: several posts copy the same brand copy in the same order.
- 2 posts say eating in requires one drink per person. One describes getting a buzzer at the counter, sitting upstairs, and coming back down to collect the order when it goes off.

3 posts say the café has no parking and point to nearby public lots such as Sejong-ro. One family that drove parked at the Gyeongbokgung lot and walked over. The 'no parking' tag pasted at the top of many posts was copied from listings, so we did not count it.

24 posts say there is seating upstairs. Several describe a long group table for seven or eight people and smaller two- and four-person tables on the second floor. 11 posts mention sitting or looking around on the ground floor, and none describe a basement. One counted about six four-person tables downstairs, and another found the upper floor quieter and cosier.
We don't know whether there is a step at the entrance, whether a wheelchair or stroller can get in, or whether there is a lift. No post mentions any of this. Two posts say you reach the second floor by the stairs beside the counter.
7 posts say the toilet is inside the café. Two of them say it is split by gender, and one places it on the ground floor. Several also describe it as clean.

Posts that followed a TV spot
Of the 30 posts we gathered, 2 went up on a single day right after a TV spot and show no sign of a visit. They retell the broadcast, so we left them out of the counts.
We do not discard them. That a TV spot produced a burst of posts is itself something worth knowing about a place, and a star rating will not show it.

What we do not know
- Opinions on price are split. Two posts call it steep and one calls it fair for the quality. In practice, one slice and one drink come to a little over ₩10,000, and pairs ordering several items spent around ₩30,000.
- No post mentions waiting for a seat. That doesn't mean there is never a wait, only that nobody wrote about one. One repeat visitor says there were always free seats, and another found it uncrowded at a weekend lunchtime. 3 posts say the upstairs group table can be reserved.
- Of the posts that say who they came with, three went with friends and three with family: two with their mother and one with a child, who picked the watermelon baum and an ice cream. The rest don't say.
- 23 posts give the hours as 10:00 to 22:00, most of them saying every day, but nearly all copied this from a listing block. None mention a break time, last order or closing day. Many posts give the same phone number, 0507-1400-8984, and one suggests checking the café's Instagram for closures.
- The menu changes. In April 2026 a Dubai-style chewy baum had newly appeared, and in August it was handed out as a review gift. A September post only says it was there last time. The watermelon baum and watermelon drinks were described as summer specials.
