Jeirok
제일옥 Jeil means 'first' or 'number one', and -ok is the old suffix for a house or eatery — roughly 'the Number One House'.

A Korean home-style restaurant right outside Exit 6 of Dongmyo-ap Station, at the mouth of the Changsin-dong toy and stationery street. Ox-bone soup, stone-pot bibimbap, brisket soybean stew and kimchi stew are 9,000 won; stir-fried pork is 11,000 won a portion with a two-portion minimum (September 2026). Each table has three steel containers of side dishes you serve yourself with tongs. Six of the twelve visit posts ordered the pork, and most stopped in before or after the toy street or Dongmyo market. We read 16 posts from November 2024 to October 2026; 12 describe a visit.

Counted from what bloggers wrote in their posts; we did not confirm it with the restaurant. Where the values differ, it may be a change over time rather than a disagreement, so we show when each one was written.
What sets it apart
- Side dishes are refilled straight from the containers on the table, no need to call staff; four posts said they went back for more, one calling that easier. Apart from the napa kimchi the selection changes day to day. Four posts were also given free tteokbokki, though one regular said it only appears on days the owner makes it.
- Stir-fried pork must be ordered for two or more — three posts said so, while other dishes come in single portions. A solo diner can't order the pork.
- Six posts placed it right by Exit 6 of Dongmyo-ap Station, about a minute's walk; one said it is just to the right of the Pororo figure outside the exit.
- Five posts went with family — nieces and nephews, parents, a party of six including a grandmother seated at two four-person tables. Of the two posts with children, one regretted there were no children's utensils.

Where it is

We could not find this shop’s own listing on Naver Map, so the link searches for its Korean name around this spot instead.

No post described which floor the restaurant is on from experience; the '1st floor' in the address is registry data, not an observation.
Nobody mentioned steps or a threshold at the entrance, or getting in with a wheelchair or pushchair. That means we don't know, not that it's step-free.
Only one post mentioned the toilet: inside the restaurant, but shared by men and women.
No one mentioned: Second floor · In a basement · Lift to the floor · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Accessible toilet. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

Posts that followed a TV spot
Of the 14 posts we gathered, 2 went up on a single day right after a TV spot and show no sign of a visit. They retell the broadcast, so we left them out of the counts.
We do not discard them. That a TV spot produced a burst of posts is itself something worth knowing about a place, and a star rating will not show it.

What we do not know
- Opinions differ on heat: three posts called something spicy (two of them the pork), while a regular of ten-plus visits said the pork isn't fiery but sweet and savoury. All three that mentioned it agreed it's sweet.
- Three posts found the portions generous; one disagreed, saying the pork portion was modest and the brisket stew had almost no brisket.
- Two posts called the seating fairly roomy; one said there are many tables but the room isn't big, and suggested groups book ahead. One post mentioned two terrace tables outside.
- No post reported queuing, but three said the room fills up at noon. Whether you'd get a table at the lunch peak, we can't say.
- Only one post went with friends and one with a partner; none said they ate alone, so we have no first-hand word on solo dining.
- Opening hours come from two posts that agree on 9 am opening, 8 pm weekday closing and Sundays off, but differ on Saturday closing — 7 pm in one, 8 pm in the other. The 7:30 pm last order is copied from the Naver listing.
- Prices were consistent in visit posts from August 2025 to October 2026: 9,000 won for stews, ox-bone soup and stone-pot bibimbap, 11,000 won per portion of stir-fried pork. The 16,000-won rib soup comes from a single January 2025 post. A scraped menu shows lower prices (pork 9,000, ox-bone soup 7,000) of unknown date, so we didn't use it.
- Five posts gave the same phone number, 02-2235-6574. Whether they take reservations is unknown — one post suggested groups book ahead, but nobody said they did.
- A Seoul seolleongtang list marks a 'Jeirok' as closed since 2022, but that is a different restaurant near Chungmuro; this one has a visit post from October 2026.
