Tongkeun Galbi

통큰갈비 Tongkeun means generous or big-hearted, and galbi means ribs — roughly 'Generous Ribs'.

Compiled from 2 blog posts read in fullSources →

An all-you-can-eat barbecue place on Yeonsero 5da-gil, a short walk from Sinchon Station. For 16,900 won a head you take steak galbi, pork belly, pork neck, chicken neck and more from a self-serve bar and grill it yourself over charcoal at the table. We read 2 posts, from August to September 2026, and both describe actual visits. With so few posts, every count below is out of two.

Data as of · Published ·

Location & hours

What sets it apart

  1. Both posts describe the signature steak galbi as thick and closely scored; one gives the thickness as 1.5 cm. The '72-hour aging' line is the house's own claim, repeated by a blogger, so we did not count it.
  2. Nothing comes pre-grilled from the kitchen: both posts grilled at the table over charcoal. One relays a staff explanation that, because of the weather, frozen pork belly is currently also cooked on the charcoal rather than on a separate griddle.
  3. One post says ordering is done on a tabletop kiosk, which is also how you call for a grill change, and that staff came quickly when they did.
  4. Both posts say it is close to Sinchon Station; one puts it at about a five-minute walk.

Getting inside

Neither post describes which floor it is on from experience; only the listed address says ground floor.

Nobody mentions a step at the entrance or whether a wheelchair or stroller gets in. That means we don't know, not that there is a problem.

Nobody says whether the restroom is inside or whether it is split by gender.

No one mentioned: Second floor · In a basement · Lift to the floor · Ramp at the door · Step at the entrance · Step-free access · Toilet inside · Accessible toilet · Separate restrooms. That is not the same as there being none — it means we could not confirm it. Worth calling ahead, and do tell us: we will put it here.

What we do not know

  • The only opening hours we have are a copied block at the end of one post: daily, 16:00 to 01:30. No second post confirms it, and nobody mentions closing days or last orders. It does not appear to open for lunch.
  • Both posts give the same price: 16,900 won per person for the basic all-you-can-eat set. The 18,900 won set with beef shabu-shabu and the roughly 7,000 won beef add-on each come from a single post. Nobody gives a full bill including drinks.
  • Neither post waited, but both went early in the evening. One arrived around 5 p.m. and says the room was full about an hour later. We don't know whether there is a wait at peak dinner time.
  • One post went with a younger coworker, the other just says two people. No post describes a group or family visit, and the mention of a large private room is one blogger repeating other reviews.
  • The phone number, 02-3141-1397, appears only in one post's copied info block. Nobody says whether they take reservations.
